I am the Care Coordination Manager for a veteran non-profit called Veterans Bridge home. I had an elderly veteran, whose wife is in wheelchair on a very limited income who had to move unexpectedly. Ardeen answered, listened to the situation and said he would be happy to collaborate with us to find a solution, he dropped his truck fee and significantly cut his moving fee to meet our budget. Discount Movers moved my possessions locally when I purchased another home in October 2024.The moving process was smooth and the moving crew did an excellent job. My disappointment has been with the owner of the company concerning several damaged pieces. One of the movers placed one of the leaves to my dining room table under the proximity of lift. Another mover lowered the lift without knowing the leaf had been placed there and damaged the leaf. A large wooden tray was damaged and it was also repairable. A chair with a cane back had minor damage. I am thankful I did not allow the chair to leave for repair. I understand in the moving process things happen. The owner took the 2 items for repair. I have called multiple times seeking my 2 damaged pieces. He has not returned them and is not responding to my text or calls. I just want my two pieces back, even if I have to take care of the repair. I have looked for a replacement leaf and unfortunately I have not located one. The leaf came from an antique walnut dining table with very clean lines of which caught my attention. my attraction to the table has not lessened. The tray was a classic wooden try that was the companion to a large unholstered ottoman coffee table. The repair and return issues has reduced what would have been a 5 star to a 3 star rating. read more

i use the services a year ago half of my belongings is missing also I contact Dean he said to me you talking to me like this and I have your all your stuff .. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I used them and Dean seemed nice, but he is a scam artist. my brand new mattress is now dark gray on one side and pulls all in the fabric of the mattress where the movers must have slid it on the ground. I hired 5 men to move my items not ruin them. I have a wall unit that cost $5660, and they busted the wood off of one of the sides. I have seberal antiques that were scratched and one spindle that was broken off of a vanity from the 1800s, which has caused considerable damage to the value of it which used to be at $2600. I have called Dean and texted him with NO responses from him. I asked for money back to compensate for all the damages and still no response. I also asked for his insurance to file a claim and has he refused to return my calls. Also they lost pieces to both beds and I had to sleep on the floor for 4 days before he would come by and fix my bed. He showed up with a wooden stick and drilled a hole on it to fix my bed. My bed was less than 8 months old. When he looked at all the damage his response was, "I've seen worse." That is not good at all, nor is it how you respond when your company has damaged high value items. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! DO NOT USE OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!! Not good customer service!! Let me start off by saying I don't really like leaving bad reviews because everyone has a bad day! I called Discount movers after I called 2 men and a truck and Dean asked me how much they were and immediately quoted much lower than them. So me thinking after I talked to him it seemed like a good deal but this is how our moved unveiled! 1. Movers arrived 30 minutes late to our home 2. After looking at our "stuff" for 5 minutes we were informed that a larger crew and much higher price will be required to accomplish our move. In other words even though all your company's questions were addressed honestly, you did not stick to your end of the agreement related to cost for services. This occurred at such a time that we were stuck and you knew it. 3.original 2 men crew departs and goes to pick up 2 more movers. They are gone over 2 hours. Our moving schedule is now 2.5 hours delayed and we are out much more $$$$ than we agreed on. 4. Movers get the truck stuck in the mud. They don't have the cash to pay a tow truck so I have to go drive to the bank to get cash from ATM. It is another 2.5 hours waiting for the tow truck extraction. During this period of time instead of packing, the movers lounged around taking a nap or playing on their phones. A huge waste of our time. They also tore up our yard as photos attest. We are now 5 hours behind schedule. 5. The truck is driven with the lift over our patio chairs, mangling our property and also breaking the lift. Another 3 hours is spent waiting for repair of the lift. 8 hours behind schedule. 6. The truck is backed over a concrete post at gas station shortly after departing from the location. Another 2 hours is spent waiting for another tow truck extraction. It is now dark and pouring rain. 10 hours behind schedule. 7. When movers arrive at location, their irritation, frustration, and fatigue is apparent. One in particular scowled the whole time. Near the end of the unload, the movers stopped asking where boxes should go and simply dumped them in the garage, including a heavy box clearly marked "bathroom". 8. When our bed was disassembled at the old house, the worker carelessly left the screws all over the bedroom floor. On arriving at the new house the movers were therefore unable to assemble the bed. However given their attitudes by that point I don't think they had any plans of doing so anyway. We had to sleep on the floor and go to Lowe's the next day to get screws so we could put our bed together. 9. This is the main thing, encapsulated by all the previous points. The movers didn't leave until after 1:00 am. As made abundantly clear, the delays were no fault of our family. We ate dinner after 2:00 in the morning and went to bed at 4:00. This includes our two young children. We were exhausted, irritated and angry. There is absolutely no excuse for what we were subjected to by your company. Whether it was just bad luck or not is irrelevant. The fact is that we paid for a smooth, hassle free move and look what we got. Honestly I couldn't make this up if I tried. Dean is the type of person when things don't go his way he tries to talk over you and I can't deal with that type of person very well so I let my wife talk to him about our damaged property and all the hell we went through. After insulting my wife's character telling her that we're the type of people who would still leave a negative review even after he fixes the chair. My wife and Dean came to the conclusion that Dean would pick up the damaged chair from our old house and pay us $250 to cover other stuff they damaged and our bad experience. Well to this day he hasn't even picked up the chair we haven't got any check from him, and Dean will not answer my call or return my text! PLEASE BE CAREFUL DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY YOU WILL GET SCREWED!!!!! read more

Dean and his entire staff were super professional. Arrived on time and took all of 3 hours to get us moved from a second level to the third level apartment. I have used other moving companies before, but I am now staying with Discount Movers. The price was great as well. We were jerked around by another moving company for 1 week & camping in our new home. I called Monday & these guys came Tuesday a.m. - 4 movers & a huge truck. I called for a quote and no one answered. The voice mail did not say the name of the company nor anyone else's name so I thought I dialed incorrectly and called back and got the same voicemail. later a very unprofessional lady called me. After a call back again from the lady and my telling her I change my mind about using there company I hung up. I received a very inappropriate text from there company number 336-294-6650 that stated, "He not looked for a %uck." My husband and I felt beyond disrespected. They took great care of wrapping my belongings before loading and packed logistically so all was secured. My things barley shifted and they fast and efficient. A++ Lightening Fast, reliable, polite even when calling for an emergency move that very day! Within a few fours, 3 guys in a small Uhaul truck showed up to my rescue! They were out on a job, is why it was 2 hours for an emergency move. I was just planing on moving the heavy big furniture and things in my 2 bed 2 bath apartment. My dad said that, this truck is too small, and we might need something a little bigger. This didn't stop these guy's from lightening fast gentle pace, packing almost all my things up in that little truck. I didn't have much left to pack, so I did a few runs to my new duplex. My landlord at Windhill Ct. apartments was terrible and incompetent, so I needed to leave a.s.a.p! My landlord accused me of taring up stuff that was 12 years old, within 1 week of living there. There was people moving out of there every week, so 2 people including myself left that week. Discount Movers came to our rescue that day and they are a blessing! My family and I was very impressed, and these guys wrapped up the dressers, mirrors, couch, stand up freezer, 2 full beds, and a hugs pile of bags and boxes and many more huge things. The guys would of gotten the rest of the boxes, but they was pressed for time, and packed it up within a little over an 1 hour! WOW!! This would of taken my family 24 hours! I can't help but move a lot, trying to find a place to get sleep, and need quiet place to live for that. I know who to call next time I need to move! Landlords are horrible to their tenants these days, so these guys will help you locate in a flash to another place, if that ever happens. Now that I found reliable affordable fast friendly movers, I'll know who to call again. I was driving down the road one day, and seen these guys out working hard moving other people.
