When I asked if they were flexible on pricing, the best they could do was $1 off, which in some cases was still more expensive than buying them new ones Amazon. Wow! It's six & a half years later and this place is still open. And, still mismanaged. I called there and inquired about purchasing clear plastic LP sleeves, which Disc Replay sells in packs of 100 @ $19.99. They've sold these for years, kept in the glass counter. But they run out. So, I called Disc Replay to inquire if they had these in stock. The person answering the phone was the weakest, most pathetic excuse for an employee. This guy said they had them, but "wasn't sure, maybe some in back" but none for sale (in the pack of 100 like they've sold for years). He asked me, "Like, how many do you need?" and I asked him if they sold them individually. His reply, "I dunno." This guy just blew sales for the store. I was ready to go there and spend my money but this moron who I spoke to over the phone dissuaded me totally. Terrific place!! I will always credit Disc Replay for helping me start up my physical movie collection with 4K-UHD blu-rays and regular blu-rays (1080p). I am way past DVDs and VHS now. Blu-ray collections are abundant in their own section of the store, though the store does have separate sections of blu-rays for Superhero movies, horror movies, Westerns, newer movies, and even foreign movies. Staff is super friendly & helpful, store is evenly spread out, organized and able to move around easily. You can pay with cash, credit cards, or acquire store credit for only that store if you choose and can use that store credit to purchase movies right then or on a later date. It's so convenient. You'll always find something here that you'd never seen before or known that you'd always wanted, like the 80s B-Movie "Dollman" or a Cuddly Soft Fred Flintstone with a hard plastic John Goodman face from the live action movie. It's okay, nothing special. I'm certainly not going to trip over my tongue raving about the place. A few of the employees seem to be okay people, and that helps a lot, while others do have that tragically hip attitude that they can leave at home. Both this store and the Orland Park store are dives. Why is that? Geezus, clean the place up a bit and stick a few air freseners around. Yeah, pretty good selection of rock/pop/metal. Not the same for folk or blues, which I head to first, then make my way to new releases. I've never had a problem with any purchases there. I think in his stretch of hard times that they could drop the standard price a dollar. Multiple purchase discounts are fine if you're making multiple purchases, but I frequently walk in & out with making a purchase or only buying a single disc because nothing else catches my interest. It's really a shame that the Downers Grove store folded, so we're left with this as probably the best choice around for used. You can get just about anything here Unfortunately we were there to buy back items stolen from us by a family member during a party. I wasn't surprised to hear 2 other people there for the same reason. It just seemed disorganized and kind of dirty. I bet a lot of the goods were stolen. I am sure the owners are protected somehow as most of the things they sell are low end items. Music. Games. In our case it was a gaming system and tablet. I love this place! Very funky and cool store. The manager in Crest Hill is helpful and friendly. They have a good rotation of their stock. I like buying vintage records, video games, and hard to find movies here. I always find something cool here every time I stop in. And they buy stuff too, so if you have some old cool media or music collecting dust, bring it in so someone else can enjoy it. Love this store! They have so many unique toys/collectibles in addition to CDs, DVDs, and video games (plus used systems and electronics). I found a gift certificate from 2 years ago with the Christmas decorations this year and cashed it in for some Wii games for the kids. I was delighted that there was no expiration and they didn't give me a hard time about it being so old. From 8 tracks and reel-to-reel machines to PS4s and VHS tapes, chances are you'll find what you're looking for (or something you may have missed). They offer a very fair amount for trades and their staff is exceptional at all aspects of their jobs. I was offered $40 for them, I u fees tans the whole over head and paying employees but I sold them to another disc replay and got way more. This Disc Replay, located in the shopping plaza at the corner of Larkin and Route 30, is a gem of a record resale shop. They've expanded so much over the years that they have nearly the same range of stock provided by large music retailers. Chances are if you're nosing for anything from Steve Earle to Marilyn Manson or Stevie Ray Vaughn to Nirvana, you'll find something here by each of them. They also have large DVD, LP and video game sections. Bring your money here instead of Best Buy and your collection will grow TWICE as fast. They also offer pretty reasonable cash for your trade-ins unlike hack corporate joints like Game Stop which will give you a dollar or two a DVD or CD. It's a hip record store with cult-classic movie and music posters adorning the walls and offered for sale. Even though they don't exclusively sell vinyl, this is the kind of record store that movies like High Fidelity remind us are fading away fast. I picked up Bruce Springsteen Live 75-85 here for 22.99. the joliet location of disc replay has been open for about 15 years in 2 different spots in the smae plaza....when it opened up, it was in a small, cramped space, but a few years ago, it expanded into a much larger space. since the old crow's nest record store closed up shop a couple years back, and circuit city is now gone, and best buy and target are the only other big stores that carry music are still around, disc replay is now the go to place if you want to buy good music for less that what you'd pay for at best buy or target. the prices for used cd's are usually $7.99, but then again, they have multiple copies of the same thing, so maybe they should price a few of those babies under the higher cost....they also sell used dvd's and box sets of all kinds, and old vhs tapes, and about 10-12 crates of old vinyl under the cd racks that have a decent amount of good stuff, if you take the time out to go through everything. all in all, disc replay is a place that will keep your music and movie collection full without breaking your piggy bank! read more

I have to admit that I'm pretty old school when it comes to my music and, yes, I have a good deal of vinyl still in my collection. I have many fond memories of visiting second-hand record like Reckless Records on Saturdays. It took me forever to make the transition from vinyl to CD. I still prefer buying CD's to upload to my iPod rather than spending a mint on iTunes. So I suppose I'm somewhat of a snob. Nonetheless, I frequent this shop looking for CD's to add to my collection. They've got good stuff but you definitely have to dig - give it a little time and you'll find some gems. I agree with Richard D. - this is the ONLY cool record store left in this area. Had a terrible experience at this disc replay today, it seems that all other disc replays are willing to give you a fair price on your items. That is not the case with this disc replay. I called multiple disc replays to price a nintendo switch for a trade in, nearly every disc replay I talked with based their price off what gamestop is trading it for. Multiple disc replays told me $215 for the trade in. I went to this disc replay and the neckbeard behind the counter looked at the switch and told me $135. Not only is that an insulting price that he grabbed out of his ass. But he was also rude when I told him that gamestop is giving $200 for it, he told me and I quote "Go to gamestop". Which is funny because gamestop is their biggest competitor. So that is exactly what I did and received a fair price, and it is exactly what you should do as well. I understand that every store is independently owned, but there is no reason trade in prices should be that low and based off of nothing. Save your time and money and go to gamestop or a different disc replay where they will give you fair value for what you want to trade in. Also in my confusion of how and why they thought 135$ was a fair or competitive price to offer, I mistakenly left one of my games on the counter and walked out. Instead of the employees doing the right thing and shouting to me "hey man you left a game." they let me walk out and when I returned my game was sitting on the counter still. I picked it up and could see the look of disappointment and dullness that they would not get to steal my game because I checked my bag and realized it was still in disc replay. Also asked for a managers number and was refused a number. Trash people and a trash store. People of crest hill and joliet these people are scam artists and think just because a lot of people around here are less fortunate, that they can offer any bogus amount even when they know the industry standard.
