Our house is 50 years old, and for the first time, we recently had water in the basement. He diagnosed it, came the next day, and replaced the original drainage system. Wonderful to work with!

In…read morethe recent round of rain storms, my sump pump stopped working as it is supposed to, and I ended up with about 5 inches of groundwater in the basement. I was able to get the sump pump working again, but 3 days after it stopped raining, I was still getting a lot of water in the pit. I found a sticker for Contractors Waterfproofing, and figured they might of installed the system for the old owners, so I gave them a call. From the moment he picked up Greg was service oriented and responsive. He asked for my address to look up the job, and when he couldn't find it, he called back within 5 minutes to ask what was going on. I explained the problem, and he immediately told me that was normal for my part of town, and told me I just needed to replace the pump and I would be fine. He offered me a price that was half what his competitors charge, but I told him I would do the work myself since I am capable. He then answered a ton of questions about the install, and we had a great conversation about life and how my son could maximize his potential long-term, as he is currently a plumbers apprentice. The bottom line is that the system Greg installed 20 years ago is still working perfectly, and when the pump failed, he not only gave me a fair price, but then walked me through how to do the job myself. This is unheard of in 2025. Greg will get all my business going forward. Thank you.

When we finally one, we reached out to him again. It was important to do the inspection quickly because the contact was not going to be subject to inspection, and we didn't lose the bid. He agreed to do the inspection the day after we contacted him. As we did the walk through with him, he provided a number of very helpful suggestions, but felt that the house (from the 1860s) was in very good shape. In addition, unlike many other inspectors, he is an engineer and was able to provide guidance on structural matters (which fortunately was fine). He produced a 168 page report the following day (with lots of pictures), which also included a summary. We found him very knowledgeable and helpful, and highly recommend him.

Louis has a structural engineering background was very meticulous about understanding the structure (and slope grounds) and home systems. He was professional, caring and took the time to educate me on how these systems work, what to look for and made sure I had an understanding of it. We went at my pace which I appreciated. I felt assured that he was a man of integrity and honesty. He turned my 600 page report around in 24 hours (at my request) even though I agreed to 3 days. He also gave me a few tips for the town and has made himself available for follow up questions and offered to go back to the home to gather updates. I highly recommend Louis for any home inspection.

Hank Johnson, owner of Stone Artistry, came out personally to assess our situation and sent us an estimate the next morning. We appreciated his vast knowledge of his craft as he took stock of our situation. It's obvious that he has decades of experience under his belt. Hank has a good sense of humor and is a very personable. He made us feel at ease and that we could trust his assessment of things. His communication was consistent and responsive both by email and text. He kept us updated about where progress on the job stood and what we could expect moving forward. His crew was courteous and kept the job-site organized and tidy. At one point Hank noted to us that the wall required more attention to shore it up and avoid faster deterioration down the road. His added estimate was fair and he made it very clear as to why the additional work was needed. Hanks' crew not only repaired the portion of the wall and made it look really good- but they cleaned the surface of the entire wall and removed sand and dirt that had accumulated at its base. There were many larger pieces of flagstone and other rocks that didn't get used in the repair job and Hank's crew left all of that on premises - which felt very honest! We will absolutely hire them again in the future.

I am particular on the contractors that I hire , this company and their personnel are all top notch.

We had major water issues in our basement with water coming up through the concrete. We were close to install a gutter system that sits on the footing and it just did not feel right. My friend worked with American dry and recommended them. Paul Silva came out and broke down the way water gets in. He is perhaps one of the most professional, responsive and organized people we worked with for our house. Truly an amazing representation of American dry so we knew we were in good hands. When the work began, we instantly saw that their system was miles ahead of anything out there. The footings are perfectly flat, so putting in any waterproofing on the footings with no pitch makes no sense. Their pipes are pitched into the sump pumps and they installed cleanouts so i can see into the pipe. The installation team led by Juan was incredible. He further explained the process and showed us the system along the way. Some of the hardest working crews out there. We had a lot of local friends with water issues come and see the work and it was impressive. During the entire construction process they also were sucking the air out side so dust was minimal and they cleaned up so good and fogged for mold. It is like getting an entirely new basement! The end result is my basement is DRY!!! No musty smell. It smells like a real floor. The sump pumps are entirely silent. My old sump pumps rattled the whole house. I just check my app and see how many gallons they pumped out. I researched for months and met with multiple companies and in the end I am certain i made the right decision. For anyone out there that is dealing with the stress of water in the basement, musty air, mold or flooding.... this is the system to install. Thank you to the entire American Dry team for the hard work and protecting our house.
