I agree with the topsoil work. Bobcat services were well done. Had a retaining wall and egg rock installed. Nice work here. HOWEVER, the jury is still out on whether or not my lawn will live. Had Meyer Zoysia and a sprinkler system installed spring of 2012. Left for vacation for about 10 days the day after the installation. Here's the rub...the timer was incorrectly set by the crew for weekend sprinkling instead of 3+ times per week. When we returned from vacation the lawn was crispy. A neighbor told me she was about to drag her hoses across the street to water my lawn. After resetting the timer it was a waiting game to see if the damaged lawn would make it. Several spots did not. These areas were replaced with another batch of sod that was considerably lower in height. It is now December and hasn't caught up yet. Crabgrass and nutsedge began taking over shortly after installation. Apparently the topsoil wasn't "sterilized" or filtered. Many hours of pulling these weeds ensued. During the heat of the summer I couldn't understand why the grass was still wilting even after the timer was reset. The timer died! Didn't notice it wasn't coming on at the preset times because it was dark outside for the evening and early morning settings. Looked up the model number of the timer online and found out it had been discontinued 2 years earlier! I contacted Dirtworks about this issue and requested a newer version. Never heard back. Started dragging hoses across the yard. The yard tried but I'm afraid it died. The color of the lawn rapidly changed from the initial lush green to light green and finally to tan by early October. My neighbors who rarely do any maintenance to their yards still have green grass...and it's December! Not even a followup call to check on how things have been going. Would NOT recommend! read more
