If there was a negative review star, I would rate Direct TV, as a whole, -10 stars. I started direct tv in 2011. Disputed their price "gouging" constantly for the entire 2 year contract. To keep me as a customer, they gave me excellent monthly pricing and customer service. I upgraded to the Genie DVR in December for a very small additional monthly premium. Until this billing period. My bill went up almost $50.00 ADDITIONAL dollars per month. To make this long story shorter, when I asked and argued with customer service for almost an hour when the cust serv girl informed me that they could change my plan rates at any time without notification. This was NEVER DISCLOSED to me during the initial call and upgrade and when the serv tech installed the equipment & asked me to electronically sign my name, I SPECIFICALLY asked what I was signing as there was only a place to "sign" my name with NO OTHER terms or writing whatsoever. When I asked him what exactly it was I was signing, his reply was "only that I have installed the equipment". The "Change Pricing Without Notice" Was never disclosed. Which is totally illegal. My advice? Do not sign any contracts with Direct TV. If you are not on contract anymore with DIRECTV, then I strongly advise and implore you to never allow them to talk you into Upgrading and signing a new contract.
