Fast service and friendly staff. We got our smog test quickly and efficiently. Good option for a smog test site.

The attendant, Nate, was kind enough to approach my vehicle to acknowledge me and give a rough estimate of wait time. When it was my turn Nate was friendly and efficient. He gives exemplary customer service and I'm glad he wasn't like some of the employees I've dealt with at other smog stations who make you feel like your being there bothers them! Smog Busters is fortunate to have an employee like Nate!

My car is a 2019, and I didn't know that under Nevada's emission rules (NRS 445B / NAC 445B), any 1996 or newer light-duty vehicle with an illuminated check engine light automatically fails the smog test. That rule has been in place for over 20 years, so there was no chance my car could pass, and the technician should have known that the moment he saw my dashboard. He ran the test anyway without saying a word; my car failed as expected, and I was charged the full fee. After I looked up the rule, I felt this wasn't honest. A short "your check engine light is on, so you'll fail" would have let me fix the problem first and save my money. I had the problem repaired and came back because this is the closest station to my home. It was the same man. I told him it would have been honest to warn me the first time. He became aggressive, said he didn't like my attitude, and refused to serve me. He insisted he's a professional who works with the DMV and that some cars can pass with the light on. I'm posting this so other customers know to check their dashboard before coming here. A business that depends on customer trust should give simple, honest information and treat people with respect, especially when they raise a fair concern.
