Scheduling with them initially was a little confusing - first we were messaging through Yelp, then text, then they sent me to their website. They were communicative but I never knew which channel to reach out to first. They did come out quickly which was appreciated. The first two gentleman that came to replace my fan and fix my ceiling light were not great. They would look at something, and then disappear and call someone and be on the phone with someone while they were looking at the fan or light fixture, almost like they were calling someone and asking them what they should do. Shouldn't they know? They were at my house for HOURS. WAY longer than I think they should have been. They would just look at the light fixture and talk to each other for like 5 minutes, then step out to make a phone call, then come back and start working on it. Over and over and over. They took a brand new fan out of the box and replaced it, but it wobbled like crazy (turns out they just didn't put the fan together really well because the second guys that came back made it much better). When they replaced my dimmer switch and celiing light, it looked AWFUL. Wasn't flush to the ceiling at all. They told me just to patch it, but this clearly needed more than a patch! I couldn't believe they just left it like that. I called and told them I was unhappy with their work, and they offered to come back and fix it. The second guys that came back were in and out so fast. They fixed the light and it looks perfect, just as it should. Clearly the first guys that came out had no idea what they were doing. Disappointed to have had a less than stellar experience, considering how highly reviewed they are. It must depend on what service folks you have come out to actually do the work.

I called Marat, told him I wanted a 200 electrical panel, and he was able to quote me with an excellent price by seeing a picture via text of the existing electrical panel. Given that it was my first time buying a home and not knowing anything about permits and the procedure, Marat walked me through it. He advised that I needed to call LADWP to schedule an appointment with a tech who would mark the spot of the new meter. He then said once there is a meter spot, Marat will get to work --and he did immediately after I got the meter spot. In fact, Marat was there the next day! He worked on the panel for a couple of days, along with his son, and once he installed it, he took care of scheduling the appointment with LADBS. Since I saw how excellent Marat was as an electrician, I also had him install recess lighting in the living room, hallway, family room, and kitchen (amazing job) . I had him install 5 hardwired POE cameras throughout my house. And I also had him check all my GFCI outlets throughout the house and had him replace the ones not working. I hired Madison Electric in September 2022 to install an EV charger. Communication and the work…read morequality was great, I have no complaints. The cost quoted included labor and parts. I also have a new build construction home with the wires pre wired so the actual work was not difficult at all. However (which I didn't know at the time), the Nema 14-50 plug that they bought at Home Depot and installed is not commercial grade (ie. Rated for EV charger use). It was a $15 plug and I only realized that when I want to use the EVSE charger at the maximum intended 40 amps, the socket would get extremely hot to the touch. I was worried about it melting (as you can google similiar stories) so I have been charging the car at only 20 amps max because I didn't want to spend more money on fixing the issue. 20 amps is fine and I can get a full charge overnight, it just takes longer since it's a slow charge. I'm finally posting this because I'm using the charger very frequently now (since I had free public charging for my EV which ended so now I have to charge at home) and I do wish my nema 14-50 plug was a heavy duty one so I can use the max amps of my juicebox. I didn't know then since I was a new EV owner so I want to make sure that other EV owners are aware and advocate for themselves/double check the work to make sure your house is safe!

He and his team dropped everything they were doing to help us, and possibly saved our building from burning down. The longer story: We worked with AP electrics a year ago to do some maintenance. We are part of an HOA and had to look at several quotes, AP electrics offered an extremely competitive rate, and more importantly were very transparent and communicative. Today, one of the units had the electrical box explode and nearly catch fire. Jose came quickly, assessed the breakers and the panel, and make predictions on how this could have happened. He had excellent documentation from our last project, and we were able to compare photos from then and now which was helpful in figuring out the problem. His theory of faulty wiring in the AC (and likely the rest of the unit) ended up being correct. He is extremely knowledgeable, but also patient and willing to explain very clearly each step of the diagnosis in a way that I was able to understand. They ended up replacing the panel and breakers the same day to restore power to the unit. He and his team were very efficient, and professional, and watching them tackle this project so quickly was honestly impressive. Ive have had to source electrical work quotes for my job before, AP Electrics prices are fair. Both times working with them they have offered a "best solution" estimate, as well as a "minimum solution for safety" estimate, which I appreciate as an HOA that has to fight for approval of any budget spend. I will be sticking with Jose and his team for all of my future electrical needs. I trust them in all regards. No notes.

Sean came by to give me an inspection and an estimate, but while pushing the breakers back in so at least my fridge would run, there was another arc, and a glob of molten aluminum dropped down from the meter. At that point it moved on from estimate to immediate repair. He disconnected everything, went out and bought an all-new panel and breakers and re-fitted the new buss bar and connections into the existing box. The fact that I'm writing this now shows he was successful; everything is back up and better than new, at a price I figured would be double what it was.
