Dipway Arch is a masterpiece in Central Park. I'm not going into the history. I love the bridges and the Arches throughout Central Park. I have a collection of photos of them that I've taken over the years. Since there's so many I usually try to get a photo of the sign with the name.
Dipway Arch isn't that pretty to me. It has a plain straight line design that doesn't appeal to me. The arch details do enhance it's appeal denoting it's place in history. Dipway Arch is a blue-gray granite built in 1860.
This Arch is one of many arches you may want to visit the next time you go to the park. It's a work of art to me. I love all arches and bridges everywhere! read more
