He was the only one I knew of in San Diego doing maple bars as eclairs -I'm so sad that I haven't been able to find that anywhere else. Some honorable mentions were the donuts holes, the old fashions, and the crullers. The service was always polite, warm, and familial -this guy knew and remembered his customers, even if not by name. The reason I found out he sold it and retired was because he saw and recognized me walking the pier in IB :D He and his wife were always welcoming, like you were a family member visiting for a snack and a good chat. The place has generous seating available, always clean and never dirty or messy, and is in a prime business lot at the intersection of IB Blvd/Coronado Ave and 13th Street. I've only been back once since the place was sold and I wasn't really into the flavors offered at that time, plus they were no longer offering the maple eclairs.
