For my husband's graduation party, I knew I wanted to get some cute designed cookies. I reached out…read moreto Love & Sugar on Instagram to place an order and she was really great at responding. The owner, Azita, is a mom of two and operates her cookie business out of her home kitchen (don't worry, she's got all the proper licensing to do so so it's definitely safe!). She has an easy order form you can fill out online and from there, she will contact you to ask what your vision for the cookies are. My husband was graduating from PT school, so I wanted to do some cookies in his school colors, with the school logo and just some other things, too. I sent her some ideas I fount on Pinterest. I told her when I needed the cookies done. I believe you can order everything by the dozen, so I ordered three dozen. She had the cookies ready to go and let me know when they were done. I ended up picking them up at her house, but I think she also will meet you somewhere to deliver them, too. When we picked them up, we were absolutely blown away. She took the simplest thing I sent to her and made the most incredibly gorgeous cookies I had ever seen. There was so much detail in each design and she actually hand paints every freaking cookie! Like what?! Incredibly talented!!! I am still so blown away she does this with two kids, one being a toddler and one being a newborn. I also think this is her side gig, and I seriously cannot even believe it. She did some of the logo cookies, some graduation cap cookies and then threw in ones that were crutches, even a beautiful skeleton hand (remind me to hit her up for Halloween!). She took my vision for the cookies and truly made them better than I had ever imagined, and truly helped to make my husband's celebration even better. The cookies also were all individually wrapped, which was really nice, so people could take them to go if they wanted to. I never have received so many compliments about any dessert I've had at a party in my life. Everyone wanted to know who did them. The best part about these cookies? They taste as good as they look! I feel like sometimes when you hire companies to do pretty cookies or cupcakes, the frosting isn't that great or the cookie is eh. Not Love & Sugar. The sugar cookies are sooooo good and the frosting is delicious! My husband told me he likes them better than the sugar cookies I make for the holidays. Going to pretend I didn't hear it, but also he's completely right haha. I love whenever I can support a small business and I love it even more when someone is so passionate about it. Azita was so incredibly professional. She even sent me a kind message after telling me how much it meant to her to be able to do these cookies for my husband's big day. How sweet is that?! I highly recommend Love & Sugar if you're looking for some delicious cookies for a celebration. I think she even does DIY kits for kids every now and then. Definitely follow her on Instagram for her updates. I can't wait to have another party so I can hire her to do them again. Seriously, I'm addicted.

I read about this business Yelp so I set out to give it a try. Take note that their address here…read moreleads to a warehouse, not an actual business front (see my photos). It's literally a storage shed type door with a hand-written sign taped to the front. We rang the door buzzer but nobody answered, so off we went to find a Greens & Proteins in hope of trying some low carb Manbake Beefcake cakes. I purchased a bag of the chocolate coconut and the carrot cake cakes for $10 total. I was giddy when I saw that the serving size was "1 bag" -- yeah boy, the ENTIRE BAG -- but once I opened the package, I saw why. These little cakes are tiny but there are only three in the bag! I think $5 per package is really overpriced; I would've felt less ripped off if they took just a buck off the price. So don't be alarmed when you open the package and think "where the heck are the rest of my cakes?" The carrot cake ones were far better than the chocolate coconut cakes. The chocolate cakes were very dry and sort of bland. The carrot cake was moist and each cake had a big, raw cashew nut on top. I found that one cake was plenty to satisfy me but I'm not sure if that's a result of all of the protein or just that the flavors were so "meh" that I just didn't want to eat more than one. The carrot cake was still moist 2 days later after opening the package. I would love to try all of the other flavors and I really like this concept and product. I think tweaking the recipes a teeny bit might help (like adding more cinnamon to the carrot cake) or something to beef up the flavor profile. I was sad that they tasted so bland.

When he told me the name was Manbake Beefcake, I had to start laughing because the first thing that came to mind was a WWE wrestler, then I started thinking maybe it's like Chef Jay's protien bars (which is also manufactured in Las Vegas)....well, I was completely wrong when DJ Mikeattack came back with two bags of these moist mini protein cakes. At first, I looked at the ingredients on the bag, I was very surprised because it was as whole food made as what you make from your own kitchen. The main base of the protein was Whey, and egg; then a nice mixture of Boarge, Evening Primrose, Flaxseed oil, and even the fat eating oil CLA was apart of the recipe. The Carrot cake tasted like a real carrot cake...minus the frosting. Also, the Chocolate peanut butter was off the hook! Even if you're a Diabetic, you can eat this, because there isn't any sugar in any of these cakes. One thing, I really enjoyed about this snack compared to a regular protein bar...it's fresh, and has a short shelve life. Protein bars get nasty before the expiration dates, and it's nice to get a real snack after a workout. I seen these at a few gym around the valley, and picked up a bag for $5.00. Who says you can workout, and can't eat your cake...because Beefcakes is the solution to this dilemma
