Ate here on 8/20/16 for first time. The food was pretty good, but prices are kinda high. I got the 3 chicken strips which were almost $10 for just 3 strips not including fries.The dining room also had no air only windows open for the breeze to blow through so it was a little warm. I wish there was a negative star! I drove 45 minutes to eat here and will never visit this horrible place again! Horrible management and owners, rudest woman I have ever seen. I tried to eat there and spend over $30 and there was an issue and the poor window girl was so sweet but absolutely terrified of the owner who was giving me hateful looks from the back and refused to come to the window to talk with me. The owner had no personality and I wouldn't advise supporting any business ran by such hateful people. Also, there was hardly any mustard on the dip dog , couldn't even taste it, and the blueberry milk shake was runny and tasted like vanilla with blue chunks. I don't recommend this place for a skunk to eat. Anyone who is running a business should be respectful of their customers and bend over backwards to help in a friendly and smiling manner!! read more

I have been eating here for a long time. As far back as I can remember actually! My grandparents would always say, "let's go get a dip dog" when my sister and I would visit. My whole family visits this place frequently. My grandparents actually had their first date here. My grandmother told me she was nervous to eat in front of my grandfather, so she ordered a chicken salad sandwich. My grandfather told me that he was happy to take her out, but didn't have a lot of cash so he was hoping she'd get a burger (or something cheap). He said the chicken salad was one of the most expensive items on the menu at the time. Haha. So many memories. The menu has many items to choose from. Ranging from burgers to steaks. Tons of milkshake/ice cream flavors. Portions are huge, and the food is very satisfying. You can dine in, or eat in your car. There is also a gift shop now. The ordering area is small. It's a drive in, but you actually order inside (I think that's nice). The staff is always changing, so sometimes you'll encounter nice people, and sometimes not. Either way, the food is good and if the employees are rude, at least you only have to deal with them for a few short minutes. Lol. read more

Unique place off the hwy to get a quick snack. Service was good, food was tasty and accommodations were great for a little road side place. Probably the most unexpected thing was how clean the restrooms were. Not that makes a restaurant but it shows they care. If you need a unique snack the DipDog is the place. Simply not what it used to be. Vanilla custard is no longer rich and creamy (used to be a light yellow creamy color) but is now cheap white soft serve like McDonalds serves. Onion rings used to have a good thick coat of batter, their signature batter, now thin and scrawny from what I can only assume is thinned down batter. The dipdog itself is the only thing remaining true and classic. I recently ordered Superman hand-dipped icecream which is a multicolored, fruity flavored icecream by hershey. I was instead given hershey crazy vanilla, which is identical in appearance to Superman but is vanilla flavor only. Why it wasn't labeled for employees to know the difference is nothing but stupidity. read more

I've been eating here for years and never disappointed, the dip dogs are the best I've ever had, and the the other menu options are usually good except for a couple burgers that had that "freezer burn" taste - always had great counter service but our last visit, pretty bad, young lady had a very ugly attitude and was borderline hostile as we placed a small simple order- I've never been treated so rudely and we won't be going back, even a great corn dog doesn't cover for bad service, we actually felt that we had angered this girl just by ordering our dip dog and milkshakes. read more

They are extremely unfriendly here and that is a problem right off the bat. The food is ok but every time I have ordered a hot dog there is barely enough chili to cover it from one end to another. If I wanted a hot dog without chili I would have ordered it that way. They also don't give refills and completely fill the cups with too much ice so they are making a killing off of soft drinks. Personally I think it's dishonest. If you want extra ketchup get ready to beg and plead. The fries are so dry that they almost choke you when you eat them. I have tried the place a few times hoping it will get better but I think I'm done with that. read more

The dipdog is great. The problem is I go for a refill on my drink and I'm told they don't give free refills. I'm not upset they don't give free refills, I'm upset they don't give free refills BUT gave all 6 of us plastic cups, stickers and had a basket of FREE oranges sitting on the counter. Come on people, it's a refill and I'm sure it wouldn't break the bank to offer free refills. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

Used to be unique and great but sadly, has gone downhill. The "dip dogs" tasted reheated, the chili cheese fries were old-tasting, like when you bring home fries from a restaraunt and reheat them the next day in the microwave--very mealy and mushy. My wife and I ate at the Dip Dog Stand a few nights ago for dinner. We ordered about 7:40 pm on a Friday night and after waiting for our food for about 25 minuets I go and check. The young boy, probably about 16 goes to check on my order. Come to find out my ticket was lost, so we had to reorder our food. So I ask if there is any credit they can give and am told I can have a free ice cream. Well I don't feel like that is any justification but said we would take them up on it after we eat. So after another 20 minuets, I go and this time ask for a refund and to cancel the order and he tells me our food is almost ready. Well i wait a few more minuets and he comes to the window with my order, apologized then walked away. At this point after waiting over 45 minuets for food that usually takes 15 minuets and they were not even that busy I did not feel like waiting or staying there any longer for a free $1.50 ice cream that probably would've taken 20 minuets to get it would have been messed up. So we left. And I decided to message the owner on Facebook hoping for some type of justification and all I received were excuses and how it's hard to teach kids to work and everyone is either on drugs or doesn't want to work. I inform her I have been a long time customer and probably won't be back. All she can tell me is she hopes wherever I go does better. She didn't even try to make things right. My business of about 20 some years has ended with this place. There are other places I can get a grease filled bag and get 100% better service. read more
