Facility is a great set up with separated play areas and kennels. It looks and smells VERY clean and sanitary. Peggy and her staff immediately loved on Chloe and allowed her to acclimate by walking around and getting familiar with the space with her nose. I was sent a message and pictures to keep me updated on status. I felt completely at ease and peace leaving Chloe at Joy's Landing while I went off the grid to raft with my family for 4 days.

My husband and I had to work overseas for several months in 2017 and needed to find someone to look after our 2 cats that we were leaving behind. After looking up reviews in Facebook for Paws 'n' Claws, we decided to ask them to pet sit for us. The process was simple and very professional--Stan, the proprietor, came to the house to discuss the terms and to meet the cats, and then he prepared a contract to be signed. Days later, we left for our trip, secure in the thought that our pets were in good hands. We weren't disappointed--Paws 'n' Claws did their job well and even went above and beyond what was called for in the signed agreement. They took wonderful care of our little darlings-- made sure they were well-fed,well-groomed, and got attention, and took them to the vet when needed. When the rebellious boy cat-- Junior-- did unspeakable things to express his displeasure from being left behind by us-- his parents--- Stan did everything to remedy the situation, and when Junior got sick (he has a delicate constitution), Stan made sure he got his medication. When we asked him to, Stan arranged for someone to stay overnight for a month to monitor Junior's progress and to provide both cats company. The other cat likes to go outside during the day which she got to do when the pet sitters came to the house. While overseas, we communicated regularly by phone and email with Stan who sent pictures of the cats and in the process, afforded us peace of mind while working in a foreign country while our pets were alone at home. Not only did Paws 'n' Claws care for our pets but took great care of our home as well. Stan made arrangements to have our yard mowed and watered regularly, and he even made sure the sprinkler system was turned off for the winter. After being gone for several months, we came home to happy and healthy pets and a clean, well-cared for home and yard. We can't thank Stan and Paws 'n' Claws enough for every thing they did for us and we highly them to anyone who requires extended pet-sitting. They are an honest, reliable, competent and truly professional outfit, whose presence in the home--it hardly needs mentioning---adds in no small measure--- to the home's security. For us, at least, the experience with them was like having a loving family watch our home and pets while were were away.

They seem to possess the expertise and experience, and most importantly, love, to manage difficult dogs who dont play well with others, dog and human. I know its odd to write a review without actually using RPM's facility, but i was so impressed with the time they took to educate me on their approach to dealing with difficult dogs and how devoted they are to caring for your dog like it was there own.

Not a day goes by that I don't regret bringing my dog here for boarding. I checked my dog Nirvana…read morein for boarding on February 6, 2023 in good health with no prior injuries. In the morning of February 7, 2023 I received text messages and photos of Nirvana from the manager Stacy that mentioned nothing of this injury. She said that Nirvana was doing just great via text. (see photos below) However, my dog looked very uncomfortable and now knowing that she had a torn ligament, it seems like she was not being properly cared for as the photos so her sitting in an office chair, meaning that they were having her crawl in and out of the chair while she was injured, and also putting her in a situation where she could've further injured herself. On February 8, 2023 I received a phone call from the manager Stacey, stating that Nirvana had suffered a minor sprain while boarding, and had developed a limp. Allegedly Nirvana was examined by a veterinarian Dr.Sarah Love who is their "resident" Vet (owner's wife). They advised me that the "minor injury" would heal naturally within a few weeks, and that no further care or diagnostics was deemed to be needed by Dr. Love. Nirvana's medical records prove she never had a limp/injury before this incident. Because of the dishonesty and lack of transparency about the injury in boarding, my dog did not get the proper medical care she needed in an appropriate amount of time. A few months passed and she continued to not heal, and seemed to be in pain. In autumn of 2023 I took her in for an examination from a vet in our local community of Santa Monica, CA. The staff was immediately very concerned and asking for medical records from the initial examination. I explained that no medical records were ever provided and despite making multiple phone calls to contact Rocky Mountain Pet Resort or Dr. Sarah love for medical records of the alleged exam that took place, they have refused to cooperate or provide any records. After receiving radiology in October 2023, and proper care here in California, my dog was diagnosed with a permanent ligament injury. She has been prescribed medication that she permanently hast to take that she never had to take before prior to this injury. The veterinarian made it very clear that if the injury had been properly disclosed at the time, and had been properly examined by a medical professional, that there was more that could have been done when the initial injury took place. Unfortunately, because Rocky Mountain pet resort intentionally deceived me regarding the severity of her injury neglected to provide Nirvana proper care in a timely manner in response to the injury. The injury has now become a chronic permanent injury that does not have any options as far as further surgeries or treatment. Rocky Mountain Pet Resort has been so difficult regarding the situation that they have even asked me to no longer contact them, yet they were never able to professionally respond to the situation either. They have refused any refunds for her care, and I have accumulated many medical bills for my dog since bringing her to this facility. The worst part is that my dog lives in chronic pain on a daily basis, and she is in so much pain that she does not even want to go down the stairs to use the restroom. She used to be able to enjoy her quality of life after being rescued by me and we used to be able to go on long walks around the Los Angeles Marina now she is barely able to complete a quarter mile walk around our neighborhood. She constantly is licking the injury and also this creates other concerns like she could cause an infection because she licks her self to the point where there is a open wound out of pain. Now she also has to wear an E collar often, and that is not very comfortable for her. Her life was never like this until she boarded at Rocky Mountain Pet Resort. I took ample time to disclose Nirvana's special needs due to her situation as a rescue dog. Stacey assured me that Rocky Mountain Pet Resort had the capacity to work with her as a rescue dog and handle her special accommodations that we had discussed. This injury could've been easily prevented had the boarding facility followed the appropriate care for my dog. Prior to boarding Nirvana I took the time to disclose her special needs, and it was discussed that she was from Los Angeles an unfamiliar with snow. It was also disclosed that she cannot really be around other dogs. During this conversation Stacey was provided very detailed directions to not walk her without a leash on and keep her away from other dogs. And if needed to minimize walks, and to not take her on the snow. They ignored all special care instructions & fed her food that could have triggered intestinal bleeding!

My experience with Fullmer Menagerie Animal Rescue Wags to Riches Doggie Daycare and Boarding was GOD AWEFULL -10/10 would NEVER recommend. We should have NEVER gone to this place from day 1, after we got our dogs shots and the paperwork, we drove out 30 minutes to this place. We had been informed that the owner (who had at first claimed she wasn't the owner) made a call to the last place we had boarded our dogs without telling us prior to. She then proceeded to insult my husband claiming we were going to "Stiff her" and not pay at all, so she had us pay at drop off instead of at pick up. My husband then proceeded to voice his concerns to her telling her how he felt she was being disrespectful towards him and how he didn't like that she lied to us. He then voiced how he was possibly considering not leaving our dogs here, to which she responded by THROWING our dogs paperwork at me snapping "Fine then leave." After we had paid there was just one problem after another, both of our female dogs were in heat, we only knew of 1, but she attempted to claim we "Lied to her" about not knowing of the other female being in heat. Our male dog was separated from them, we then get a call being told that our male had gotten "locked up sexually" with our other female. We asked that they be kept separate, which come to find out that during the last 2 days of their stay, the dogs were NOT kept separate at all. The day before we went to pick up our dogs, we had spoken with the manager who had said we could pick them up at 2:30-3:00pm and wouldn't get charged for another day, come to find out this was a lie. When we went to pick up out dogs we were charged an additional $103, when we told the "owner" what we were told, she called us liars. Her and my husband ended up getting into an "agreement" she refused to listen to a word my husband had to say when he was voicing how he felt about the treatment we were receiving from her. During this "argument" the "owner's" husband came over and literally SCREAMED at my husband to "shut your damn mouth." My husband hadn't cussed at anyone during the conversation. I had tried to calm everyone down so we could get our dogs and leave, but the "owner" held our dogs for ransomed, saying we needed to pay her $103 first before we could take our dogs, or they would be taking them to the pound. Now all of our dogs are service dogs in training, 2 are for PTSD and 1 is for Medical Alerting. I have a few severe medical issues, one of them being Periodic Paralysis, I attempted to calm everyone down due to the fact that my blood pressure was rising at an alarming rate, and was about to have a seizure, I was completely ignored during this, and shortly after leaving the facility had a severe seizure. When we finally got our dogs back, I noticed that my male dog had LOST 20 POUNDS, I had provided a binder with all of the dog's information and dietary information as well, when I call to ask if she'd even looked at it, she outright told me no. She tried to lie to me again, claiming I told her to feed my dog WAY less than what I had originally told her. My male dog went from looking healthy to looking like a skeleton. This was by far one of the WORST places I have EVER boarded my dogs at, I have never been so blatantly disrespected by a "professional business". I provided a binder that contained all of the dogs information, and instead of referring to it like she TOLD me she would, she told me she "tossed it aside and went off of what I told her" which she didn't, because I had told her my male dog is on a STRICK DIET and she cut his diet by 40% and didn't care. Now I have to pay even more money out of my pocket to get my dog looking healthy again, when I requested a refund, she snapped at me telling me no and then hung up the phone on me. Please do NOT take your dogs here! There are WAY BETTER AND CHEAPER PLACES! Save yourself the hassle, time, stress, and money and go somewhere else! Take your dogs to a place where they will be treated properly and not STARVED!
