Called in to ask about specials and he told me there were three balls on sale for a great price. Came in and had a perfectly fitting ball 30 minutes later. Shop owner was great and seemed like a master at his craft. Thanks for the spoiler alert (ball)! Bowled a personal best of 149 today on my third game with the new ball :)

    145 in 8th. frame.
 Thanks Dino.

I am a new bowler. I suck. Well, I used to suck. I used a Hammer 15lb. beginner ball that (apparently) had the holes too far apart for me. It was nearly impossible for me to throw the ball and i'm a big dude. Dino told me that the ball i was using was drilled w/the finger holes too far apart. New ball, new drilling, fingers closer. Now i average 160 and its not even one year that i'm bowling. Dino is awesome. Never short cuts you, and makes sure it is perfectly fit to your hand. Jon! Referred by Mary

Dino has been drilling my ball for a few years after a recommendation from a fellow bowler.... I travel about 1+ hours from Brooklyn to get a quality fit to my bowling style... he listens to my concerns and needs based on the ball purchase and has my measurements on hand... when I call.. he answers and is readily available for a same day drill....

Dino's is inside Astoria Bowl but is a separate business

As well he observed my bowling style and measured my positive axis point from throwing a ball I already had.

From my very first visit, to today, the staff is, and has always been cordial, courteous, professional and respectful to all their customers. Warren, Tony, Eugene, Henry and the rest of the past, and present crew, serve our community with their individual and collective golden hearts, regularly. There is such an abundant variety of clothes for work, an amazing variety of casual clothing, as well as shoes, boots, jackets, bags, for different purposes in different sizes, gloves, underwear, socks, wallets, utility items and other gear to choose from. The prices are very reasonable and the Timberland boots I just purchased, having bought them here before, are so comfortable that I plan on going to get a backup pair on my next payday! I decided to go with the wide version and my feet are thanking me profusely! Having previously purchased all of the above mentioned items over the years, I gladly support this local small business. This Brown's Army & Navy Store is Big on Quality, as well as Excellent Customer Care Specialty! I highly recommend shopping at this location for yourself, your family, your friends and your other loved ones. I have never been disappointed and am a proud, grateful and satisfied repeat customer! Thank you, Brown's Army and Navy Store and Crew!

We had such a great experience coming to the Solow Sports at the National Tennis Center. I can't…read moreeven begin to explain how great and the complete opposite experience we had coming here than what we endured at the two Wilson stores. Growing up playing tennis in NYC, I always encounter not enough information gets funneled out or people wanting to share resources. So this right here is for all my first timers. Allow me to give you all necessary information so you don't get deterred. By car, you would have to go to parking B, usually closest to the train and you know you're on the right path. By train, it's literally down the platform and walk towards the Chase building towards the right of the box office window. There's a small gate where you would enter the Chase building, pass the front desk, into a small lounge and you would find the store. First, they rarely pick up their phones. It's a small shop, and understand why they probably won't. They are constantly assisting passerby customers or stringing racquets. This place is interesting because they allowed us, or rather insist on borrowing a racquet before our play time to get a feel before purchasing. I was really thrown off by the practice but I must admit, an extremely effective one!! I was really stunned because the gentleman even showed me the drop box to return the racquet if the store is closed. . We ended purchasing the racquet with more confidence knowing we got to try it for the weekend. I can't recommend this no frill place enough. The experience I had from the Wilson store to this was like night and day. Non pretentious, experts giving you honest advice based on your needs. The store was filled with everything you need. They even sell 17" racquets. I never seen those in person at a store. Really decent prices, great lounge for your waiting needs and a fabulous view to one of the best venue in Queens.

I'm an attorney so it's my nature to ask a lot of questions and Dimos had an answer for everything and did not get annoyed even for a second (I was annoyed at myself for asking so many questions lol). He is also very personable and we were able to chat about our own tennis experiences, even about how our Fathers are still holding down the tennis courts these days! He really took time to explain so much and because of him, this is now my go-to tennis store for anything tennis whether it's for tennis shoes, a new racquet or grabbing a few tennis balls. And FYI - they're prices are legit amazing so that only made this experience sweeter. Shout outs to Dimos. Thank you sir!
