Dino's Donuts was recommended by a family member that lives in the area and boy what a winner this place is - we arrived just before 10:00 AM and the extremely long drive was filled with customers from the drive through to the street with cars waiting to turn in. There were a few spaces at the front of the business so I grabbed one and walked up to the window and placed my order. With this many customers there aren't many products sitting around getting stale, I ordered a dozen glazed and they handed me a box filled with piping hot donuts that would immediately dissolve in your mouth with each bite. As much as I wanted to devour a few more I was taking them to my mom and dad's to have with coffee about 20 minutes away so I waited. We went to Dino's donuts this morning, and it did not disappoint. The Colossus were amazing with a sausage and jalapeños inside of it wonderful and hit the spot. As for their donuts, they were like little pillows of air, soft fluffy, and absolutely filled with whatever filling you chose, we had the eclair filling as well as the lemon and the lemon was nice and sharp and out of this world flavor. The donuts were amazing - reminded me of the ones my mom made when I was a kid! There wasn't a huge selection but what they had was yummy. And the two ladies were so friendly and gave us several extra donuts at no charge (who does that?!?!). We are on a road trip and just happened by their little drive through as we were leaving our campsite and there was a long line, so, it must be good, right? And it was...so light and airy, yum! These are the best donuts I have ever eaten!!! We were leaving Lake Charles , travelling through the area from Florida and stopped here for coffee. I got 1/2 dozen assort d donuts and they were worth every calorie . The lemon donut was superb, the glazed donut even better, chocolate glazed was to die for... My husband had the bourdin pig in a blanket (basically a hush puppy stuffed with filling) and he totally enjoyed. Coffee was ok, but The donuts were seriously the best EVER! My brother and I were craving some sausage kolaches and donuts in the morning and this place came up on Yelp so we had to check it out! The drive was a little further than where we were staying but we had to satisfy our craving. The place has a drive thru and a walk up window with a sign that says best donuts and coffee in town. The employees were really nice and the service was pretty quick. The donuts were fried and glazed perfectly. Probably the best blueberry cake I've ever had! Moist and delicious. The donuts and pigs in a blanket (or Kolaches, in Texas-speak) were both tasty. The prices were fair ($8.30-something total) for 4 donuts, 2 PIAB, and a small coffee. It's pretty hard to mess up a donut. Great drive-through or walk-up donut joint. The "pigs" (Pig in a Blanket / Kolachi) are good as well, and they offer them two different ways. I can never seem to get there in time to get a Bavarian cream, since I believe they only make a limited number of the specialty filled donuts and they are out when I come by. They open early, are fast, and inexpensive. Nothing bad to say other than I wish they offered a large size coffee rather than only a small. I'm a fan. read more

Accidentally ended up driving by Dino's Donuts on my visit to Lake Charles and decided to stop by. They have a drive-thru which was convenient. I had no idea that I should've ordered a dozen or two donuts and kolaches that morning to attempt to take back to Texas with me (only half joking...). They were really that good. I was there early and got the glazed donuts when they were still warm. I'd seriously describe their donuts as heaven in your mouth. The kolaches were excellent too. The prices were really reasonable, too. The boyfriend and I finished them before we even got back to the hotel and even thought about turning around. Before leaving going back to Houston, I stopped by Dino's and the Boudain Kolaches were the best!!!! Trust these are not the typical doughy Kolaches. The outer layer is quite different and made with Beignet dough. We also tried the Apple Fritters and the can fill the Fritters with any filling of your choice. Best donuts. The glazed are light and airy, and not too sweet. So delicious. A must stop when I'm in town.

In my opinion donut joints either have it or not. 5 Stars may be much for the short 7 minute experience I had, but everything was perfect. A small locally owned business, drive through service, great coffee, and fresh warm donuts - what's not to like? Very friendly employees and the best donuts in Westlake. Ok, so they are the only donut place in Westlake but they are still the best! You can always go to Market Basket and get those nasty donuts from the bakery if you want to compare. Piggies are the best around, especially the spicy (jalapeno) ones but my indegestion gets me back every time I splurge on these spicy numbers!
