If I could give 0 stars I would. We (along with 2 other couples) purchased an experience with #dinnerwithaview at Piedmont Park. Let me start with pros: it was a neat experience, our server was very friendly, we were with great company and overall had fun together. (We will have fun no matter what!). The concept was a great idea. The only good food was the chocolate mousse dessert! Now the cons: it was WAY overpriced for the experience. People say "you pay for the experience" bull crap! Not only do you purchase tickets in advance for food and reservation, when you go that price does not include drinks or the service charge. Additionally for the price we paid, the food was down right gross. 1. It took us 45 minutes to get a drink. 2. We were over an hour and half in before we got food 2. The rolls they served I'm pretty sure were Hawaiian Rolls with a side of garlic butter 3. The soup, I don't know what the hell was in it but by the time we got it, it was cold and I couldn't even, it it GROSS. 4. You get a choice of beef chicken and we got one of each. The chicken was so salty and insanely dry I could not eat it. The beef was supposed to be short rib, it was pot roast. 5. You had to take a golf cart to get to the restrooms. In the end they bring you a final check we knew would be a service fee and drink charges. I about hit the floor. For what they charged for drinks I could nicely stock a small bar. Beware of "death by fees". We were charged a fee to rent the dome, a service fee, a credit card fee, a processing fee when we prepaid for the dinner AND and another service fee on the final check which by the way was over the entire bill including the prepaid portion. (In which we already paid a fee) In the end the price for 6 people cost more than an all day trip to Epcot at Disney and would have got better food and drinks there. Anywho for anyone thinking of trying this out I highly recommend you don't. SAVE your money and take your friends or significant other somewhere else !! read more

A great concept, beautifully executed, great staff and service however for the price we paid (my group didn't have to pay for the dome) the dinner was lackluster, it didn't help that the food came out lukewarm to cold, and our red wine was not only cold but all in our group agreed that it was not a good wine, and while we aren't wine snobs, we are able to recognize good wine from bad. We did order the cheapest bottle, but not an excuse by any means. Prior to the dinner, I tried out their pre-mixed negroni cocktail, and while it was a decent negroni, again the cost associated with it was too over blown. I can have a (better) cocktail at some of Toronto's nicest restaurants for cheaper! I think the event gets caught up in grabbing headlines, with a celebrity chef, none of that matters if the food is below par. I got the fish and it came with tiny bones a plenty too. As I've mentioned above, full marks for the idea, beautiful deco, great service but lacking in the food and drinks department. We did attend on their first week when temperatures were still cold, so warmer temps might have made this experience better with our food and wine not being so cool on arrival. read more

My wife and our best friends did Dinner with a view in Toronto and we had a blast. Food was awesome, wine was good, and was a cool experience for a private little night of dinning. I work in hospitality so I know that sometimes there are some hiccups along the way, especially when you're talking about an operation of this size - the server brought us the wrong drink order but made up for it by comping the next round and so, oh well no big deal, and for sure I would say that the service and our server specifically (can't remember her name) was really attentive. But because I work in hospitality I also am critical of quality of food, and things that some don't notice in terms of cleanliness etc and the presentation overall was really great. You pay for the experience, like anything else, but we were really happy with the night and recommended our friends check it out in Vancouver when it was there as well. This is the one of the worst experiences with a company i have ever had. I purchased my tickets 3 years ago. They decided Bc of Covid to cancel. Then refused to give any refund. Then about a year later i got a email saying your new reservation is on "this date". Not even asking or knowing what anyone is doing. Then they canceled it again. And then again a third time. Each time i reach out and they don't respond. It takes 10 emails and several weeks to months for them to respond. And they absolutely refuse to refund. This is fraud. Stay away. SCAM ALERT: I signed up for the San Diego experience. I emailed to confirm they could accommodate gluten free diners. I mistakenly assumed something of this caliber would have no problem with that. They let me know they could only guarantee the Veagan option (which we did not want) would be gluten free. So I decided to cancel, however they are refusing to offer a refund even though I was willing to pay a processing fee, and it was the very next day directly after their response. They are extremely difficult to work with and will not offer a name, manager, or phone number. Buyer BEWARE. We have enjoyed eating at some very fine restaurants and I already feel this is our worst experience ever as far as their absolute lack of decent customer service/care. It's been awhile since I had such a horrible dining experience. My friends and I left hungry and disappointed. We expected steak as a dining choice and instead we got chicken! I was excited when the server informed us that the chef would use local, in season ingredients and produce West coast inspired dishes. Sure enough we had seaweed butter with a basket of sourdough bread. Too bad the server didn't offer another basket of bread. The first course was a complete joke. We would get steak tartare inspired 1st course. The translation was a small portion of pickled beets with a few sun choke chips. I would be ok if it was a multi course meal. I was left hungry after the "salad course". The main course was a complete disaster because it lacked flavour and the presentation was 50 shades of beige. My friend commented and showed the server a dish she made which was very similar to this dish. I asked if the red meat aka steak was it really not in season. She couldn't give me a straight answer. We were all looking forward to some juicy steak instead we got an uninspired chicken. If the chef chose poultry, at least offer something more interesting like duck, partridge or something. After the server listened to our complaints, she came back with a bottle of bubbly on the house. She quickly distributed the wine and took away the bottle. Thus not giving us a chance to check the bottle out or take our time to enjoy it. The organizer really wanted us out within the 2 hr time limit to make way for the final seating. Another major pet peeve I had was: we couldn't ask the server to bring us wine by the glass. We had to walk in the rain into the "main hub" to purchase a glass. It was fun trying to walk in the rain, carrying an umbrella, glass of wine and purse. We could order any other alcoholic beverage and had it brought over. I thought that was really tacky. The dessert was another horrible dish. Server described it as pineapples served with a lime mousse with grounded granola and blackberry dusting. In reality we got untreated lack of flavour pineapples, some whipped cream, grounded granola from some supermarket and specks of blackberry dusting. I asked the server if the pineapples were local and in season. Maybe I didn't know there was a secret garden near Vancouver that grew pineapples. Like everything we wanted and expected, steak and blackberry were "gone with the wind" and the chicken flew in. So save your money and don't bother with this "dome dining". Okay so to be fair it is a great concept... but the food was entirely average. We Waited 1:15+ past our reservation time to get a seat. The wine is not included so the price per dinner goes up at least $50 per person. Katlynn was very helpful in listening and understanding the importance of amazing quality of service and food quality. We had an amazing time because we always do. I felt the portions were small. Most likely stopping at in-n-out on our way home. I am normally not a complainer but for this price per couple I had higher expectations. The server told us that this is the first time doing this in the U.S and I think that it may be because they ran out of other major cities in other developed countries to SCAM. It's a four-course meal, and THE BREAD IS ONE OF THE COURSES. We had a curry dish that was inspired by the chef's Mexican heritage... the Thai place in my neIghborhood does a better job. They use the term "celebrity chef" pretty loosely. You're also not allowed to get a glass of wine during the meal time from the bar. They lurk at every corner to get another dollar from your pocket... 10/10 would NOT recommend! You could get this same calibre meal at Chili's™ on their 2 for $20 menu. read more

I'll start with the positive: the domes are pretty and it's nice to have a restaurant experience with friends without the background noise. Unfortunately, everything else is not-so-positive... The food was less-than-average, and that's being kind. Service was a "three course" meal that included (1) a small bean salad, (2) (meat option) curry chicken with so much curry you couldn't taste anything else, and (3) some sort of dessert that our server couldn't identify. Food temperatures for the main course spanned from luke-warm to cool.) Service was on the slow side, though I think they were trying for a "relaxed" dining experience. Problem is it was so relaxed as to be almost comatose. The servers were polite, but they had no idea what they were serving. At one point, our server pulled a printout from his jacket to tell us what was in the main course. They also tried to tell us that the dessert included ice cream and "truffle honeycomb," neither of which was accurate. All of this could have been forgiven IF it were an Applebee's. This place used to be where bunch of homeless people used to Live and sleeps under Gardiner Expressway for years, and I felt very uncomfortable that the price of the food and place were poorly placed where the city and Toronto Police kicked them out their home. Once seated we ordered both a red and white to be enjoyed with our meal. Needless to say both arrived after we received our 2nd out of three courses. The first course consisted of cold bread and tortilla accompanied by a bean salad. Disappointed! The main a peice of chicken curry with a piece of cauliflower..tasty...but not $110 epic..not including cost of the bubble. Would not encourage anyone to attend. I will say Management removed the cost of our red wine order. (Net savings of 55 out of our 210 wine order )All in all I would not recommend. Great concept that needs better management and oversight. Pop up: fun venue but with difficult logistics and under whelming food. Venue is fun and nice and Instagram worthy. An interesting physical experience. Night decor and lighting. Comfortable seating. A bit cold for some. Rating: A- Service was good. The staff tried their best and did a good job with what they had to work with. Rating: B+ Food was not great. Menu choices probably driven by constraints and logistics of trying to prepare hundreds of meals from a truck under an expressway. Food was served warm (good) but was not prepared properly. Vegetarian meal was inedible. Fish and meat was covered in overly salty, nearly inedible. Serving sizes we're tiny: 100 grams of salad. 100 grams of fish. 50 grams of dessert. We literally had to call another restaurant during our meal to make a reservation to go to dinner after this. Rating: D Detailed feedback. Entrance location is a block away from address given which leads to an unnecessary walk. Give proper location so taxi drop is correct. Seating was 30 min after scheduled time. Charger plates were reused from previous guests and had chunks of their meals on them. Glasses were dirty with water spots and bits of detritus in them. Took 15 minutes after salad course to get water or drinks. Vegetarian main was hard and uncooked and was inedible. Fish and meat were cooked ok but drenched in way over salty sauce. Mains and desserts were skimpy. Despite seating us 30 min late we we're ready to leave on time. It pretty much was a fail. We spent $1000 on the meal, but literally had to go to another restaurant afterwards to have dinner. Not worth it. Sell your tickets if you can. read more

Sucker of the millennium - that's how we felt like after our "special experience" at Dinner With A View. It was advertised as some fine dining event with some kind of award winning chef, thus charging $100/ person. Food turns out to be mediocre with no effort whatever put into making it anything special. Meal started with a sad looking salad stuffed in an ikea soup bowl, followed by a greasy beef rib course with oily mash potatoes. The meat was tender and the taste was ok. Side was TWO Spears of asparagus plus a HALF piece of Brussels sprout. Yes, a HALF piece. All slapped onto the plate served by disinterested staff. The serve staff started removing our plates before I even finished eating my food. Dessert was the only course with any presentation to speak of. But by this point, it was an amusement and not an enjoyment. There was no effort by the organizer to make one feels like this is a special event, despite the $90 for the dome, plus the $99 meal. We recently attended the Dinner With A View in Chicago. As many others have stated in their reviews, this experience was 3 years in the making due to COVID. The experience was advertised as being on the Chicago River when the tickets were purchased. It was moved to another location NEAR the River. The view was nice. The "igloos" themselves were very pretty and nicely decorated. However, the food was a joke. 6 pieces of cold, hard bread. My short rib was basically one huge piece of fat. I got 3 small bits of actual beef. My $18 cocktail was served half empty. The experience was very disorganized - we could not tell which person was actually our server. They never explained WHAT we were being served until after the food arrived. The cost and THE ADDITIONAL FEES were exorbitant. I would not recommend this experience to anyone. read more

Horrible!! I would put zero star if I can and it was not even with the dinning experience!! We purchased the tickets for the dome and 4 dinners for January 15, 2020 7:30pm Vancouver event. We arrived early at the event site around 6:40pm because we were told by the customer support that the event would proceed in all weather conditions and we just needed to spare more time to find parking because of the snowy condition. We were not able to find the site. The entire environment was really dark. At 6:44pm, I received a general email from Dinner With a View Team telling me that event had to be rescheduled because they had a power outage at 4:53pm. We were offered an opportunity to reschedule our reservation, for the same seating time (subject to availability), for another date at the Vancouver activation. I was not sure if I should thank them for the offer. In the email, we were told to email manager@dinnerwithaview.ca to reschedule the reservation, not that they would be reaching us promptly instead because they failed to provide service. We wouldn't be able to reschedule because our out-of-town friends would be leaving soon. I emailed and requested a full refund instead. After one week from the original event date, I finally received reply from the manager (no name). He/she neglected my refund request, continued to explain the power outage situation and their revenue lost due to that. He/she again offered me to move my reservation to another date. I explained once again clearly that I was not able to move my reservation as my invited guests were leaving. I would just need the full refund back since the party were not able to provide the agreed service at the scheduled date and time. I then received another email from manager. He/she stated that since it is a ticketed event and once the tickets are purchased they are non-refundable. They refused to refund my prepaid tickets. Once again, they offered to reschedule my reservation to another date. I have never had such ridiculously bad restaurant experience before. I totally understand that weather and power outage is totally out of control; therefore, I never requested any compensation for the dinner loss, travel time to the site in snowy weather and the very late notification about the power outage and dinner cancellation on that day. However, they were the party that breached the agreement and were not able to provide service as agreed. Now they refused to give me a full refund due to their own operational issues. I had high expectations before the dinner. Even without having the dinner, I am extremely disappointed with how the manager handled this entire situation. What they basically did to us as customers when I arrived at the restaurant was, "Hey we now have a power outage and we can't serve you now. I know you had paid for the dinner but no we will not refund you the money. Arrange your vacation and come back in few weeks, see if we have availability and we will serve you then." I definitely will not go again and I am disputing the charges with the bank. This was a dinning experience that was already failed before dinners were served. read more

It was one of my awful experience! The salad was very small and without taste. The main course was small, cold and like KFC chickens in regards $130 paying for that! Nothing extraordinary. The worst part was when in their menu was written meat and we were expecting beaf meat to come, surprisingly we received chicken! 1. The food was not good. We all agreed that the dinner rolls were the best things we ate that night. For $520, and a "Top Chef" menu, were so disappointed. The meat was dry, the fish had no flavor (who orders sole for $109!), and the vegan plate had crunched up root chips on top of flavorless vegetables. I tried to add salt, but there was none on the table. 2. Beer choices- they only offered one: Stella Artois, a small can for $7. They need to offer more choices, and with a Mexican themed inspired menu, and being in San Diego, they should have had at least one Mexican beer available. 3. Price! I should have known something was up when I realized the Instagram advertisement I saw for the experience was misleading (it claimed the dome fee would be waved if you booked within a certain time). Our started was a bean salad (great flavor but small), the meat dinner was a small breast of chicken and 2 pieces of cauliflower (great flavor but it was barely a meal) and the dessert was something between ice cream and moose that I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be room temperature or cold. I was surprised with this experience to celebrate my birthday. At first glance I was excited to dine here. Upon checking in for a 730pm seating we were told the first seating was running behind. After leaving and returning around 8pm we were given a number and told to go inside for seating. We decided to head to the bar. There was a very limited selection wth prices starting at $15/ drink. Waited 30 more minutes before being seated. The first course was a cold bean salad, second was a small grilled chicken breast and dessert was a semi fredo with dry cookies. The wait between courses was extensive. Service sporadic and no descriptions were given for the food served. I was completely disappointed when I learned how much this "experience" cost. Portions were tiny; my friends and I all went out for Italian food after this "dinner". Service was slow by a girl who has clearly never served before and looked 18. Complete trash operation in San Diego. Per their email I (and presumably everyone else in the 930PM reservation) arrived 20 minutes prior to their reservation time only to be told they were running 30-45 minutes behind schedule. While the hostess was beyond sweet about it something like that (without notice) is completely unacceptable. She asked repeatedly on her radio for mgmt to come out and speak with upset patrons and no one came to help her. The dinner runs about $160 per person (be prepared to pay for water) and something like that should have more of an experience around it than finding out you'll eat an hour later than you expected when you arrive. Additionally you find out the week of your reservation that they charge for water, drinks are $18 each and while that's average their bar selections are pitiful at best (with henny being the only dark liquor option...how are you trying to be a craft cocktail anything with no whiskey options?!). When you find out their late you're SOL because you've already dropped $600 and they say it's non refundable but at this point I'm considering doing a charge back on my credit card. read more

For what you get, it's way over priced! We were 6 people and we all felt the same. It was cool for something different, but we wouldn't do it again. We had an executive chef with us and he first noticed the rice was not cooked enough. It was a bit hard still. The food was good, but definitely no where near paying over 150.00 per person. We were expecting a view.. actually there was no view. Just you could see outside through the dome to other domes. The drinks were super expensive. Not included. Even though there was a small heater, it was still kind if chilly. We enjoyed ourselves though. We were expecting the food to be amazing as we've been to many outstanding top restaurants in the world. It was ok. Desert was like a pineapple square but in mouse style. Went to dinner with a view in West Vancouver last night with 3 friends. Unfortunately this event is a total scam and money grab. First of all there is no view ( how ironic is that). There are only one or two domes that would actually be able to see the downtown of Vancouver and there is no way to know or choose which dome you will be seated in. Some of the domes are beside the parking lot and all the people coming in and waiting for their dome. There was a new Volvo car parked in the center of them and I was told that my view would be of the car........really? You can't see anything out of the domes anyway as they are covered with raindrops and fogged up. The domes themselves were comfortable inside with heat and blankets provided. The food was really good, although for what we had to pay for this event you could do MUCH better at any good restaurant and go home with a bunch of extra money in your pocket.......We were only notified about a beverage menu a few days before the event and that this was not included in all the money we already had paid. All the beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic were ridiculously overpriced ($16.00 for 1.5 oz. Drink?) and not a cup of coffee to be found. We were really disappointed with the whole experience and how much of a cash grab it was. There are no refunds once you pay and the whole thing is very carefully setup to keep you in the dark about everything until you're sucked in. Definitely not recommended........... read more

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY YOU WILL NEVER SEE IT AGAIN. This company is a complete and total nightmare. I booked a dinner dome in MARCH 2019 for OCTOBER 2019, and it is has been a complete nightmare ever since. First, we had booked a specific date, and they cancelled my reservation due to a "unforseen event clash". I was told to contact them and to reschedule, so I did. They book everything through a third party event company, and that company needs their confirmation in order to do anything, including rescheduling. It took me over 6 hours and 3 phone calls in total, all of which I had to follow up and initiate, to reschedule the date THEY cancelled that I had had booked for MONTHS. After all was said and done, I called because i noticed that the restaurant location had changed on my event and no one had even told me. A few days after that, they called and cancelled my newly rescheduled date! Yes, this wasnt their fault as there was a flood in the restaurat but this was OVER A MONTH AGO, and i still have yet to see the 700 plus dollars i spent to reserve my dome dinner etc. They have no way to contact them other than an email and social media and everyone keeps saying they will return my money in 2 weeks.. well its been over 30 days and still nothing. Me and friends went for dinner at Montreal dinner with a view and the experience was just mesmerizing!! The had a great variety to select from for food and the Montreal skyline view under the night sky was absolute perfect addition to the whole experience. read more

The only positive comment I can make about our experience is the concept is unique, but that's about it. The night we went it was raining and our dome leaked all over the table, the staff didn't seem to care, we had to mop up water off the floor for fear we would be electrocuted from the floor heater. You have to purchase youur own drinks from the bar at the cost of $15-$17, I wouldn't mind spending that much for specialty drinks but they were so bad we had to purchase a glass of pineapple juice to add to our drinks so we could finish them. I know why they say on the website it's a blind menu. They bring you out a basket of bread and tortillas, the tortillas were not homemade, I'm sure they were purchased from a near by grocery store. 1st course a small bean salad, 2nd course I had fish, the rest of our party were given chicken ( although it states meat)the third course a substandard pudding. The cost for four people was close to $900. I have been to numerous pop up restaurants, wine pairing dinners and special events that didn't cost close to what we paid.
