My wife and our best friends did Dinner with a view in Toronto and we had a blast. Food was awesome, wine was good, and was a cool experience for a private little night of dinning. I work in hospitality so I know that sometimes there are some hiccups along the way, especially when you're talking about an operation of this size - the server brought us the wrong drink order but made up for it by comping the next round and so, oh well no big deal, and for sure I would say that the service and our server specifically (can't remember her name) was really attentive. But because I work in hospitality I also am critical of quality of food, and things that some don't notice in terms of cleanliness etc and the presentation overall was really great. You pay for the experience, like anything else, but we were really happy with the night and recommended our friends check it out in Vancouver when it was there as well. I'd go again next time they're in TO!

Okay so to be fair it is a great concept... but the food was entirely average. We Waited 1:15+ past our reservation time to get a seat. The wine is not included so the price per dinner goes up at least $50 per person. Katlynn was very helpful in listening and understanding the importance of amazing quality of service and food quality. We had an amazing time because we always do. I felt the portions were small. Most likely stopping at in-n-out on our way home. I am normally not a complainer but for this price per couple I had higher expectations. Overall it was a Gypsy experience again thanks Vienna for the comparison.

For my friends who follow me know I try to refrain from negative comments and reviews. Unfortunately, tonight's experience cannot be dismissed. The area and atmosphere were San Diego incredible. That is where the positivity ends. We arrived on time for our 730 dinner reservation We were not seated until 9:19pm. Understand, this is with the hostess feeling sorry for my broken wrist. Once seated we ordered both a red and white to be enjoyed with our meal. Needless to say both arrived after we received our 2nd out of three courses. The first course consisted of cold bread and tortilla accompanied by a bean salad. Disappointed! The main a peice of chicken curry with a piece of cauliflower..tasty...but not $110 epic..not including cost of the bubble. Would not encourage anyone to attend. I will say Management removed the cost of our red wine order. (Net savings of 55 out of our 210 wine order )All in all I would not recommend. Great concept that needs better management and oversight. Bubble cost 199..meal 110/person times 4"plus wine( drinks order during delay in seating 65) ....could have enjoyed a 4 day Mexico cruise for the same cost!

Pop up restaurant with seating in plexiglass pods under the expressway.

Pop up: fun venue but with difficult logistics and under whelming food. Venue is fun and nice and Instagram worthy. An interesting physical experience. Night decor and lighting. Comfortable seating. A bit cold for some. Rating: A- Service was good. The staff tried their best and did a good job with what they had to work with. Rating: B+ Food was not great. Menu choices probably driven by constraints and logistics of trying to prepare hundreds of meals from a truck under an expressway. Food was served warm (good) but was not prepared properly. Vegetarian meal was inedible. Fish and meat was covered in overly salty, nearly inedible. Serving sizes we're tiny: 100 grams of salad. 100 grams of fish. 50 grams of dessert. We literally had to call another restaurant during our meal to make a reservation to go to dinner after this. Rating: D Detailed feedback. Entrance location is a block away from address given which leads to an unnecessary walk. Give proper location so taxi drop is correct. Seating was 30 min after scheduled time. Charger plates were reused from previous guests and had chunks of their meals on them. Glasses were dirty with water spots and bits of detritus in them. Took 15 minutes after salad course to get water or drinks. Vegetarian main was hard and uncooked and was inedible. Fish and meat were cooked ok but drenched in way over salty sauce. Mains and desserts were skimpy. Despite seating us 30 min late we we're ready to leave on time. It pretty much was a fail. We spent $1000 on the meal, but literally had to go to another restaurant afterwards to have dinner. Not worth it. Sell your tickets if you can.

I was recently at STACKT Market to visit Las Muns. I drove from work in Mississauga on a Wednesday afternoon. Parking spots are limited at this market. I recommend parking on a side street. There's also paid parking across the street at Farm Boy's underground lot. Las Muns sells handmade empanadas. I loved this store. The empanadas were delicious. There were lots of flavours to choose from. There were a couple of vegan options, too. Most businesses run out of shipping container storefronts. It's cool design-wise. The downside of visiting during a weekday is that not all businesses are open. I'd estimate that at least half the businesses weren't available for me to peruse. As an example, Dayday Film is a camera store. I like looking at digital cameras from decades past. This place refurbishes older cameras and supports photography through them. Sadly, I couldn't visit this place, as it's only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. There's an open patio space that looked cute. I can see this space being popular when it's warmer outside. The lanterns and the Tiny Tom Donuts stand made me happy. There were heaters in this area. Maybe there are winter activities that happen here, but it didn't look like it with snow on the picnic tables. There was also a nicely decorated piano with snow on it. I see it being a nice place to hang out in the summertime. There are places to grab a snack or a drink. If you're looking for a dine-in restaurant, the only one that I saw was Sundays Pasta Lab. It was open when I was there. It's closed on Mondays. I'm glad that I finally got to check this space out. Normally, I drive past it to see a concert or a hockey game. It was a nice change. (103)

I still find there aren't as many restaurants and stores in the area. Area can be sectioned off for ticketed events. I don't think it's enough of a pull to visit here without an event happening so definitely check out their schedule. I've been here for multiple types of events held by brands, clubs, and festivals. From yoga/pilates, socials to foodie type of events, most recently I went to Smoked and paid for a series of delicious eats at $7.50 a dish for a good charitable cause. Often there are brands and companies doing pop-ups here. Though be wary I've heard the lines are long for any of those "freebies" gift bag events thrown by brands. I never bothered with those but I heard the lines are long.

No one else was inside when I got there, but after I ordered and left I realized a line of 3-4 people had formed behind me! Seems like a popular place for sure. I was hoping to sit down and try some of the stuff I got inside, but from what I could tell there was no (or very limited) indoor seating. The service was wonderful, the focaccia was actually a recommendation from the staff and I'm so glad I tried it! Potato and rosemary focaccia - my favourite! This thing was steaming and it smelt so good. I had it while warm, and the bread was so soft but also springy. The potatoes were seasoned well. It was much larger than I expected and there are a lot of potatoes, so I can see this being around 2-4 servings! Butter tart - extremely sweet, exactly what you expect from a butter tart. However, the shell and sprinkle of flaky salt set it apart from other ones I've tried. I can see why everyone comes here for it, but this dessert itself is not my favourite. I had it fresh but bought extra to keep in the fridge. It reheats nicely in the air fryer. Pear and brie galette - not super great. It didn't seem as fresh as the other two, the pastry was kind of dry and dense. Not a lot of pear flavour came through, and the brie was also flat and dry. I had it within an hour of purchase without reheating, maybe a few minutes in the oven would've made a difference.

Prices are so so reasonable. Ba Noi's buttertarts are on the more gooey side, so you can't safely split with someone. Just grab one and shove it in your mouth... no regrets! I came early and was able to have a look at everything on the menu. On top of the buttertart, grabbed a cookie, something rhubarb and a seaweed sourdough while I was there too. The cookie was delicious, but had an absurd amount of salt, all in one spot. Flicked some off before digging in. When I came home, I realized my baked goods box had been crushed by the bread. No wonder, when I weighed it, it was almost a kilo! Such a good price for the size. I'm still going through the bread (froze it to reheat), and it has a perfect crust and a good seaweed flavour. I also grabbed a coffee. Watch out! Their lids are leaky :(
