I decided I would try it anyway because it was in the area and had such good reviews, and I'm so glad I did! The transitional dish I opted for this time was the svíčková, some kind of soy meat cutlet topped with cranberry sauce, whipped cream, and some kind of creamy sauce covering the whole thing. Bread dumplings came with it, which were perfect for soaking up that creamy sauce. I'm not really sure how to describe what it tasted like as it was unlike anything I've ever eaten, but it was all flavorful, rich, and delicious! The whipped cream seemed especially random to me, but it was unsweetened so it wasn't actually too out of place. The meat alternative that was used was not too spongy, which often is the case with soy-based products. The ambiance is very cozy - I sat downstairs but it didn't feel like I was in a basement at all. No complaints about service either, and I appreciated that you could pay via the QR code at your table so I didn't have to worry about flagging a waitress down for the check. All in all a great experience and if I'm ever in Prague again, I will be back!

The ambiance has a very bohemian and soothing touch, you can see fountains and buddha statues all along. Maitrea is a complete vegetarian restaurant, serving local Czech delicacies. I tried the vegan Ghaloush and it was so so good. Typical Czech dishes are meat heavy so I am glad I got an opportunity to try something local and appreciate it. The dish had stewed veggies, a lot of spices and flavour and was served with horseradish dumplings and bread. Most of the tables around me had ordered Aperol Spritz, and I ordered the same, it was so good! Are you even on vacation if you don't drink Aperol/ Mai Tai?! Maitrea serves local delicacies as well as other vegetarian cuisines to fit everyone's palate. My vegetarian/ vegan friends, definitely give this place a try!

Trip Advisor lead us to Jaffa, located inside the mall. We were so warmly welcomed and very well cared for by the staff! We were seated immediately in a cozy booth, which was perfect. We ordered 3 main dishes plus water and soda pop. The waiter also brought out free appetizers of bread, olives, pickles, and a pickled vegetable salad, like cole slaw. My husband said, "This was my favorite meal so far in a Prague" and we are on day 4 of our travels, so 12 meals in! So that's high praise. Everything was so fresh: meat, bread, vegetables, sauces, rice. And the complementary tea our waiter delivered at the end of our meal was very flavorful, and a kind addition! There is on outdoor patio in the center of the restaurant, enclosed in glass walls so visible to diners but open to the air. If hookah is something you enjoy, it appears this is where that is used. We don't smoke or use hookah, but it was interesting to see people using that, while not having to be in the smokey area ourselves. It was completely separate and we couldn't smell anything from that patio. Bathrooms are super clean. We will definitely return to Jaffa for another meal.

They gave us good recommendations on our food and drinks Price is reasonable especially with the large serving Goat cheese and mushroom stuffed with prosciutto & Balkan cheese were also very good Cevapicici was very tasty as my main Cons: We were the first people in for lunch and afterwards 4 different parties came in. We got our food after all 4 groups already ate, paid and left the restaurant. We spent about 30mins waiting for our main dishes Our table had 4 main dishes, the 2 chicken orders were way overcooked and not good. The pork tenderloin was also very tough and bland. So 3 out of 4 mains were bad

At 7pm we called Singidunum to make a reservation for 4 at 9pm and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We weren't sure what to expect, but it was such a wonderful experience! The waiter and manager (looked like the boss) were so nice and friendly. The restaurant was nice and perfect for our NYE dinner with live Serbian music played downstairs. Plus the dinner was delicious. They had a price fix menu which made it easier for everyone. It came with two choices of brandy, tasty roast beef and duck or a seafood/veggie plate. My husband loved the roast beef. The fish and rice pilaf were great, the "drunk" turkey with veggies tasted like a scrumptious stew that was cooked with love and the pear soaked in red wine for dessert with French cream ice cream and fancy fudge cakes were delicious! We didn't stay for the midnight champagne and fresh strawberries but we were so impressed by the restaurant. It was a wonderful experience all around. We will be back the next time we are in Prague! Thank you for making 2018's last night a great one!!
