In the kids section she couldn't decide on which wool sheep she wanted so she picked up both and was holding them in her hands.. we were all standing around her as she decided and the employee (an older woman) came up to us and rudely told us she couldn't touch the sheep and asked us to put them back... We were going to buy two wool shirts and a few other things including the sheep that my daughter really wanted but after the way she acted towards us, and the negative experience we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere.

There's a really nice cafe upstairs that I believe was a missed Lunch opportunity. Downstairs could be construed as a tourist shop, but I think the quality is higher here, albeit at maybe a higher price point. I thought if felt more like a department store, and one that takes a little more time to fully appreciate the well organized selection contained within. Store staff were there to help, and pretty much waited until you asked or looked confused.

There was a huge selection of knit and woven goods, including some very soft blankets that were woven and felted on site. The sweater selection was less than some nearby outlets but quality was great. There was also a much more varied selection of yarn. The ladies were nice and chatty as we picked what we needed and checked out. When she learned that I wanted to attempt my first knit project with one of the hanks, she even found some needles to gift me! The store handled VAT and shipping, so it was very easy to buy things and send home without worrying about customs or duty free counters at the airport.

My 15 year old daughter who could literally write a thesis on Penneys in Tralee told me she saw lovely autumn/winter jackets similar in style to the spring/summer ones I liked this July. When I had a chance to call into the store myself over mid term I headed straight to the coat section only to be disappointed with finding only size 8 and 20 remaining in what really were fabulous, practical and affordable jackets in a lovely shade if brown. I asked a member if staff had they size 12 and the man I asked said he would check out their other stores. Not only did he check the Kerry and Cork stores but also checked Limerick when I explained that I lived half way between Tralee and Limerick. No luck but he then e-mailed all the managers to see if a 12 could be got anywhere at all. I was impressed but thought this was the end if it. He asked me for my phone number and unbievanke I got a call that evening and the following evening @6pm to say he got no replies.. Although disappointed with no jacket turning up I could not get over the customer service that I would not expect from a big multinational chain!!! So well done John Carlin!!!
