Bubble Tea Galore! :) Cost is about $5.60 for the large size with topping.

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE Ding Tea Victoria is reminiscent of its sister location in Vancouver East - a place dedicated to Taiwanese BBT. Apart from Le Tea in Hillside Centre, Ding Tea Victoria may be your only spot for BBT in the area without going further to downtown - and that's not necessarily a bad thing! === 2. FOOD The prices are about right (which I'm sure works for the University / school crowds) and the tastes were decent for the most part. We ordered a number of drinks for the group: - Signature Milk Tea ($4.90 large + $0.50 per topping) - Hokkaido Milk Team ($5.10 large + $0.50 per topping) - worth a try over the signature! - Passionfruit Green Tea ($5.10 large + $0.50 per topping) - Pineapple Green Tea ($5.10 large + $0.50 per topping) - Taro Milk Tea ($5.10 large + $0.50 per topping) - this one was powdered (?) and not as good as the others. === 3. SERVICE & ENVIRONMENT For takeout, the service was alright - the lady made some recommendations, I ordered, went next door to order Chinese food, and all of the drinks were done! The place was maybe half full / busy at the time - it's contemporary-looking like it's Vancouver East location. Here, the tables are smaller and so I hope your group is about 2 in size. Wheelchairs and strollers fit, but the small space between tables may be a challenge. Parking is not an issue with the shopping complex lot out front.

Mango smoothie and matcha red bean slush with grass jelly

I read another complaint on Google reviews about ordering a "smoothie" and getting a slush so I thought I'd help clarify here. The "smoothie" on the menu is actually a slush by normal standards. If you order a mango or passionfruit "smoothie", it's going to have a slurpee-like texture, but they call it a "smoothie", and they don't understand what you mean by "slush". Today's conversation went like: Me: "Can I get half ice on the slush?" Staff: "We don't have slush. We can't adjust ice level on the smoothie." Me: "The smoothie is full of ice, it's really a slush, but it doesn't matter what you call it. Okay." Then I tried to order half sweet for the matcha smoothie, but that wasn't allowed either. Okay. I ended up ordering the Taro green tea drink, and it's kind of terrible. Tasted like plain milk mixed with green tea. The amount of taro is very small and not well blended at all so it sits at the bottom. I would avoid the taro drinks like another reviewer indicated below. The mango, passionfruit, and matcha red bean smoothies are quite good though. We will be back.

Went in today to get the first bubble tea that I've had in almost 5 years. I was extremely happy with this spot as my reintroduction into the boba lifestyle. Although part of a chain, this location is one of only two Ding Teas in Canada (with the other being all the way over in Ontario). My friend was taking me on a boba-tasting adventure and thought that this would be a good starting point. We got their most popular tea, the Bubble Milk Tea, which was extremely good! It was quite a calm flavour, as it was actually in tea! I see very strong flavours in boba quite often so I'm not exactly sure what the norm is, or if you typically see both sweet and regular most places you go but I thought it was great that they had both. It's quite inexpensive to get a regular or large bubble tea here and I found it to be very tasty and refreshing. Plus, the location simply can't be beaten for me, since I spend so much time at the university and the surrounding area!

I ordered a small drink here and specifically asked for no ice. Instead, they decide to fill more than half my cup with ice. Paid $5.30 for a mediocre drink that was 80% ice. Never coming back

    Absolutely terrible

Horrible, it was so thin and had all those strange stuff on the bottom. And we ordered a taro tea, that's the easiest tea any place can make if you offer bubble tea. My kids left it and didn't want it.

Nothing fancy, but reliable with late hours and a big selection. My personal favorite is a cantaloupe green tea with boba.

I like the Hokkaido milk tea, and I've tried their signature milk tea, and the Hokkaido coffee.

Came in on a weekday afternoon and it was completely empty. The employee stood up and greeted me as…read moresoon as I walked in, which was nice, and answered the questions I had about the menu. (Sidenote: I was asking about some drinks I saw listed on their website that I didn't see on their physical menu in the restaurant, which they apparently don't actually serve. They might want to update their online menu then...) I ordered a grapefruit jasmine green tea with pearls, 30% sweet and 30% ice. I got my order, grabbed my straw, and left, which was my biggest mistake, because when I got home, I suffered from one of the sweetest drinks I ever drank in my entire life; I regretted not trying it right away and seeing if they could remake it. I reread the label to see if they got my order wrong, and I saw it was "--pefruit lemon jasmine --en tea), --- gar, 30% ice." Clearly the label was cut off, so I don't know if they misheard my sweetness level, or if 30% was truly that sugar bomb I drank. They did technically get my drink name wrong as well, though lemon should've made my drink more sour, not sweet. I couldn't taste any tea flavor at all--not sure if I buy the whole "fresh fruit juice used" on their website, because I've had grapefruit juice before, and it should not taste artificial fruit syrup sweetner. The pearls themselves were on the soft side, but I didn't have too many qualms with that. I have had Truedan in San Francisco and have only had good drinks with them, so I figured that given that they're a chain, they would be consistent, but this visit was unfortunately disappointing. I might come back and try another drink to see if it was perhaps an off-day, but otherwise, I'll be getting my bubble tea fix elsewhere.
