Wow! Who knew?
Enjoy a unique 3 hour cruise and dining experience on the Long Island Sound. Weather permitting, reservations accepted from May to November
Up to 6 guests - no more than that - can relax for 3 enjoyable hours on the classic 46 foot sailboat, Camelot, managed with strict safety standards by Captain Luc and his wife Kathryn.
All cruises are BYOB - feel free to bring refreshments. Ice and corking available on board. Free parking available on the upper level of the parking garage (enter at Patsys Pizzeria) and walk down the stairs to Dock A on the left.
Chef Luc, the former Executive Chef of special events for the Goverment of Canada, has cooked for such dignitaries as Pope John II, Queen Elizabeth and more and now prepares luscious meals served in the comfort of their beautiful sailboat.
We started the meal with hors d'ouvers - including the most amazing sweet and spicy meatballs (no breading, Luc uses dried wild mushrooms as a binder), salmon pate and artichoke dip with Trader Joe's chips.
"Admiral" Kathryn served, entertained and was the consummate hostess.
After a short cruise under motor out of the marina we anchored offshore with views of Hudson Park and private beaches for dinner. The main course was filet mignon and grilled garlic-butter shrimp with green peppercorns and a salad of their own garden fresh greens, sunflower seeds and homemade vinaigrette. The sauce was so good you could eat your sandal under it.
We then cruised the sound under sail for an hour or so, all except Luc sitting up towards the bow - wind in our hair, setting sun behind and in our faces, sipping wine & cocktails...geez Louise.
Dessert, served dockside after our cruise, was a fresh chocolate mousse cake served with berry sauce (see pic) - so lite it would float. As it was Kathryn's birthday she got her own cake and a resounding rendition of Happy Birthday!
At one point Luc held the Guinness World Record for the tallest wedding cake...so he cooks AND bakes. We wanted to abduct him.
Brunch may consist of such delicacies as croissants made from scratch, eggs benedict and deviled eggs. And dessert may include such favorites as belgium chocolate or fresh strawberry mousse cake.
Price is amazingly reasonable considering the depth of this memorable event. Book now!!! read more
