( Yes, French is on my next bucket list in 2026.) Thrifting is sensational. National thrifting day - August 17th is around the corner. Yes, thrifting is " A THING" in Japan. But I won't be talking about Japan or any boutique in Asia or in Murica. I'm talking about the flea market in Pasadena. Nope, this is NOT about the Rose Bowl flea market. I'm talking about specifically this is over 45 years of family owned - local business in South Pasadena, just happened Jap-American " Op Shop" sitting there and a lot of peeps passing by and no one really notices it including me. One Sunday Afternoon ( Nope, it's not a noir film title),  I walked in this store and have met a generous kind person called Lisa. She didn't even know  YELP exists and barely uses any social media. All the juicy Japanese stuffs there and fortunately, I've got a German made reading glass for under 10 bucks. There's a reason why God sends martial goods and certain people to cross the path if you're in good-deeds. A generational family business store in South-Pass and in need of survival and keep going for the next decade, we need to shop LOCALs. Community is vital in our culture, and can provide a sense of belonging, support, and opportunities for learning and growth for every single American in Murica. That's how we made America great again. I wish Lisa nothing but the best for the next coming decade and still be true to this " Opportunity Shop" in South Pasadena, a charming, hip and modern city of East side of Los Angeles. I've been swamped with work, reading and running around events that finally catch a breath to write a review. I'm so glad to be stopped by this charming store which is the Asian American Pacific Islander family owned shop and also a kind radiant of Lisa who didn't even know her shop existed on YELP has been contiguous to me. There are two warehouses on both sides. The main warehouse is on your left. This is the one I entered first. The front desk is right there in the main warehouse. The building is separated into a few separate rooms, so you feel like you're walking through a hoarder's home. There are antiques galore from one room after another, from dishes to paintings. They try to separate the goods, keeping related things together. For example, dog pictures on one wall; musical instruments; crosses, or clothes. There's a small outdoor patio of stuff in the back, too. Then I visited the other warehouse. This one seemed to have more stuff than the other building. Basically, if you're looking for it, you can find it here. I couldn't believe my eyes, regarding how much stuff was in here! Overall, most of it's a little pricey, but it's a great place to walk around. It wasn't until I walked outside to the back that I literally found the kitchen sink. Parking: They have their own parking lot, and it's free. Payment: Credit card, Venmo, or cash. No tax when paying with cash.

I'm not really an antique shopper but the other evening Sidney P. sent me an "urgent" text along w some pics telling me I had to come by and check out the wood tables here but they were 15 min from closing so I should hurry. Sadly, I didn't see it until 30 min later cause my contractor decided to have a semi-freak out and yell at me. Crossed my fingers and came in the next day. One of the tables had sold but there were still two in stock! Really beautiful wood joints. Now to figure out how to stain or paint this bad boy. Anybody wanna help??? Lol Best of all, chris offered a great deal on top of their already insanely competitive prices and a low 10$ delivery surcharge. Handed over the cash and table was delivered less than two hours later. Wooohooo. One item down a million to go! They're doing a liquidation sale now so hopefully theyll restock w some more cool stuff! An interesting collection of furniture, arcade games, decor, furniture and even a one-eyed skeleton. Unfortunately, he was a bit out of my budget at 175 but im def gonna stop back in on occasion to check out their inventory. Came midday Sat and it was pretty easy to find free street parking in front of the shop. Really hot in there so dress accordingly.. or just shop quickly :P not a huge place so shop quickly and you can be in and out in under 15.

The selection is eclectic and interesting, and I had a great time just taking everything in and spotting items I definitely was not expecting to see. I do wish the customer service felt a little more approachable, and having prices clearly marked would make browsing feel less like a guessing game. That said, it is still a fun stop if you like antiques and do not mind doing a bit of visual treasure hunting. Even without buying anything, it is worth a look just for the experience alone.

how sad. does anyone even care that this is one of the last remaining antique shops on mission in…read moresouth pas? the rest have been closed and replaced by trendy clothing boutiques, interior design crap holes and effen Bellini - the Barney's NY of baby-world. i have to frequent these places partially out of fear they may succumb to a demise not unlike the Rialto but mostly because although I can't identify the proper use of most of the utensils sold here, I still love them. the place smells of old dust, but you cant see any of it. it's quiet; they could probably use better lighting and some music. but it's filled with books, dolls, drapery, furniture, china, pictures, records, jewelry - everything. it's a hodgepodge, really, but what antique store isn't? out of my own curiosity, i'd love to be able to sit and rummage through some of the boxes and closed cabinets, but things are piled upon piles and even closed off - that's probably my only gripe. that, and the gold fish tank they have there looks a little grimy. someone needs to change their water.

I have kept it with me for years just because I felt obligated to the story. When I turned the chair over to him, I felt as if I'd given a puppy to a good person...one who understands things of the heart.
