Hipster beer bar and eatery. They also have wine.
As a wannabe-hipster myself (yes, I admit it) this is one of my go-to places in downtown Copenhagen. I usually go here when I want a beer with a friend after having been to the cinema or having been out to eat. The atmosphere is very casual, not too much noise, and because everyone is seated it doesn't feel crammed. However, the place isn't huge and there's not a lot of seating. The interior decoration is minimal yet homely; bare yellow brick walls and old, way too worn, wooden chairs - I love it!
The place stands out from the rest of the bars in the area (which are all really divey "let's get drunk" bars) - so if you're not into that, going here is a no-brainer. They have a unique selection of import and Danish beer. Notably they normally have 4-5 different bottled beers from the US, which I haven't seen anywhere else in Copenhagen. They also serve some small dishes like soups and salads - if you're very hungry, you should go somewhere but otherwise I can recommend it.
Din Nye Ven is pretty good, but I do feel it's missing something. I can't put my finger on what it is - maybe if they dimmed the light just a bit? I don't know. I would give it three and a half stars if could, still a very good place though. read more
