Quality care, good customer service and a modern and clean office. I've had a great experience with Dimple Dental Suite. Dr. Presson is the best dentist I've been to. She is honest and direct about the state of your teeth, provides the best affordable treatment plans, answers any questions you have and provides you with good resources. I started coming to this dentist office in 2021 after not being satisfied with another dentist in the area. She was up front about the care I needed, the different options I could take and provided information about what my insurance would and wouldn't cover. One of the things I appreciate most about Dr. Presson is the feedback she provides valuable feedback and recommendations so I can make the necessary improvements. Her team is great and communicative. I've always been contacted in advance if my appointment needs to be rescheduled and any billing issues I've had were resolved quickly. The office is very nice and modern. Edit: PAY ATTENTION to the negative reviews on here. There is are consistent problems with this dentist. As others have said, I initially went here to support a Black dentist. I'm here on Yelp because where do folks go when they've received less than adequate service and the business does nothing to help them? 2 months ago when I had my appointment I would've wrote a lovely review because my visit was very pleasing. Everyone was nice, they explained their approach to dental care as they worked, and the atmosphere was clean and welcoming. Fast forward to today and now I'm looking at a shocking ~$300 bill (that doesn't have an itemized report) because apparently my primary and dental insurance (blue cross blue shield) doesn't cover their services. This would have gone a lot better had they notified me at my appointment of which services my insurance would cover but they didn't so I had no option to accept or deny those services. I'm putting this here as a warning for those who choose to deal with this office. If you do opt to use their services, then check with them and your insurance first to see if ALL of your services will be covered so that you can have transparency and an opportunity to deny services you wouldn't want to pay for. Now that I have to pay for these services, it has been like pulling teeth trying to get them to show me an itemized report so I can contest any unfair charges if they are present. I'd like to take a moment & give testimony on my beyond expectation and level of service I received today at Dimples Dentistry. For a few months I'd been contemplating on whitening my teeth and the many several different options out in the market. After careful consideration I opted to book my appointment at this office. The booking of the appointment was easy and smooth, all done online with the help of the rep over the phone. They even had a in office special for $350 (normally around $500) with a $40 mail in rebate. Once I arrived I was screened accordingly for temperature and had a covid questionnaire. Every staff member was suited up in the appropriate Covid preventative gear, which was a huge relief! The entire process took about 2 hours. I sat down in the chair (which gently massaged my back and I got to watch tv & listen to music through out the process to help me relax. The entire procedure was painless, totally informative, and fun! I had friendly chats with the dentist and got to meet the owner Dr. Presson as well. Before leaving my teeth were whiter then expected and almost as white as can be according to their color scale! #bonusforme I highly recommend this to any of my friends and family! I feel like no one wants to ever to go the dentist, but Dr. Presson makes the experience less painful (physically and mentally). You come into a very cozy and welcoming environment - the ambiance is very calming and clean, which is what we should always expect in a dentist's office. Dr. Presson is super knowledgeable about her work, and is also really kindhearted. She doesn't try to take your money - she actually is one of the less experience dentists I've been to, and she's super easy going! It's such a pleasure to be able to come to her for my dentist appointments, especially because I had such a terrible experience a few years back. I'd highly recommend Dimples Dental Suite. This place doesn't even deserve one star. Please do not go here. Quite possibly the worst dental experience I've had. First off, when I was greeted by the dentist, she didn't even say hi or ask how I was, but instead yelled at me to get in the x-ray room. Strike one. During the exam, she proceeded to scold me on my dental routine and count (and take photos on her iPhone?) the number of "cavities" I had. Side note: I've never had a cavity, regularly see the dentist, and floss/brush twice a day. After the "lecture" I received, she proceeded to provide me with a plan to take care of the cavities. Being in shock, I went ahead and scheduled the necessary appointments. Fast forward to the day of my appointment to take care of my "cavities" and they let me know that they can't see me, after I took off an afternoon at work and sat in 30 minutes of DC traffic. Reason why? I didn't call back to confirm my appointment. Side note: It's 2019. I accepted the Google invite and would have called if I would NOT have been able to come. Safe to say I walked out and told them I would never be back. As of today, I went to my home dentist and found out I have zero cavities. Hmm.... makes sense. Scam scam scam. read more

I just left my first dental cleaning with Dr. Presson, and it was the best experience I've ever had with *any* dentist. I was hard pressed to find a black owned practice, so was thrilled when I found out this practice is black owned AND woman owned (and still diverse). It's also close to my apartment, so even better. Dimples is beautifully decorated (not over the top), and the environment is instantly welcoming. The two young ladies at the front desk were so friendly and professional as well. This was a good sign, but the icing on the cake was when I saw a good friend finishing up their appointment (I had no idea this was his dental office as well). I was confident I'd made the right decision then. Dr. Presson did a phenomenal job cleaning my teeth. My teeth look and feel amazing. To the point where I'm actually looking forward to my six-month check up. I've never enjoyed any experience at the dentist, but Dr. Presson had me cracking up laughing the entire time. I just got back from a cleaning, and was impressed with their efforts to protect me and themselves from Covid-19. Let me start by saying that this is now the second time I've had to leave this review. I posted it the same day that I left a Google review. Yet somehow, it was deleted from Yelp. So this review is simply a copy and paste of my original. In addition to my review being deleted from Yelp, I've also noticed that Dr. Presson has chosen to remove her harsh comments made in retaliation to reviewers from the Google review page. I strongly advise you to stay away from this dental service provider. Although this place is very clean and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, the dentist is rude, harsh with the cleanings, and impatient -- despite her one patient per time slot rule that she boasts. The staff is nice, but seem to be afraid to challenge their boss's abrasive customer service techniques. It is unfortunate that I had to create an anonymous google account in order to leave a shell of my honest review, unless I choose to subject myself to being called "entitled" or be prepared to debate via Google review thread as I've seen in a few other reviews. What is also unfortunate is others will likely visit this dentist regardless of the negative reviews and will likely receive the same treatment. Hopefully, they will provide reviews with greater detail afforded than here and much sooner than several months after treatment. If I could, I would rate this establishment with zero stars. Dr. Presson has taken the fear of Dentist away from me, as a military brat and spouse I've had some not so pleasant dentistry experiences; however thanks to a ridiculous toothache which I could no longer self medicate I found my way to Dr. Presson's Office. My experience was awesome and seamless from her front desk staff to the way she took the time to explain exactly what was happening and why, what my options were for treatment both of this emergency issue and going forward. Upon entry you know that you have never been to a dentist like this! The outside is deceptive so DON'T BE FOOLED. You will be welcomed by chic decor that is mostly purple and dark grey. She was quick and efficient, the office is decorated very nicely, and the chair had this awesome massage thing going on while I was getting my cleaning. I have always had a bad experience at the various dentists I have gone to and have avoided going for years, but I can honestly say I am looking forward to my next visit. To be specific, I really appreciated her attention to using that suction thing to keep my mouth clear. That it one of my biggest pet peeves of dentists. First, I will speak frankly and admit that I chose to visit this practice for two reasons: 1) as a black woman, I wanted to support a black dentist, 2) the Yelp reviews that I read were all positive. I agree with everyone that the office décor and setup is fabulous! Very modern, elegant, and with state of the art equipment. Dr. Presson is very knowledgeable and seems to run a tight ship with her staff. On to the not-so-good.... The day of my appointment, I was dressed down in a sweatshirt and jeans...no work that day. Note: I am a professional woman, educated, with great insurance....During my exam, Dr. Presson explained her treatment recommendations (I have fillings and a couple of crowns already). She proceeded to speak condescendingly to me, explaining that there would be out-of-pocket costs for my treatment, and she asked me if I saw a dentist regularly. I felt insulted! Anyone could see by all of the work that I have had done (and no cavities were found during my visit), that I see a dentist regularly. At that moment, I knew that I would never return to Dr. Presson's office. The following day, I found a wonderful dentist located in Arlington, VA, and she has taken great care of my smile. read more

Terrible service. I made an appointment to have a crown looked at. When I got to their office, they told me that they never work with crowns and the appointment never should have been made. The entire time I was there, they acted like the mistake was my fault even though I was very clear about what I needed. They even tried to pressure me into signing up for some cleaning procedures that their own hygienist admitted were unnecessary. This place is a complete mess, and the responses they post to negative reviews (look at the others) tell you everything you need to know about how they will treat you. read more

I didn't get to see Dr. Preston because the morning of my appointment she called to tell me that my insurance wouldn't cover all of the procedures she required to see new patients and that my copay would be several hundred dollars. She told me that I needed several services, even though I just wanted a check up and a cleaning. That seemed strange to me, but she insisted (quite rudely) that would be the case no matter where I went. I was going to just pay the copay, but her demeanor rubbed me the wrong way. Not surprisingly, the next dentist I called said he would take my insurance and would be able to just do a cleaning and a check up. I am very glad I chose to go elsewhere. Beware. read more

First of all, the decor is so inviting and clean. You almost feel like you're not in a dental office. Plus, the dental chair had a massaging system in it! On to the services...Dr. Presson and her dental assistant were welcoming and pleasant. My cleaning went smoothly. She clearly informed me of the condition of my teeth. I spoke with her about eventually getting braces; she referred me to an orthodontist, who also has high ratings (I checked). Not only were she and her staff extremely courteous and took care of everything I needed with great professionalism, she even walked me through all of the charges line by line when I asked and gave me the medical codes for everything that I needed to get done outside of a cleaning so that I could verify with my insurance how much I would end up paying in the end. The office tried to charge me a $50 copay when there was no copay on my insurance for preventative care. They then back tracked and said it's for the fluoride application that my insurance supposedly doesn't cover. I told them I didn't want the $50 fluoride but they said it's their philosophy to give it to everyone. I insisted I didn't want the $50 fluoride application as I have it at home but they woudn't let me be seen without it. I asked to call my insurance company which the office staff said if I run over my time as in delay with any more of my questions that I would have to pay another $50 over time fee as a consequence. The office was unwilling to budge on the $50 fluoride being forced on me and said this may not be the office for me. I said I agreed given this $50 fluoride has never been part of any dentist. While leaving, they had the nerve to suggest charging a $50 cancellation fee on the way out. Afterwards I called a different clinic on H street that said they don't force their fluoride of $25 on their patients if it's not covered. I just didn't like how this dental clinic tried to extract another $50 with this fluoride play even though my plan covers the cleaning which is all I wanted. My dad was a dentist and I've gone to other dentists in the past and there's never a mandatory $50 fluoride fee first disguised as a copay. I find it troubling and normally would never complain but I'm leaving this review to flag this practice. If they're willing to force a billing on $50 for fluoride, it makes me think what other unnecessary things they're trying to bill if you actually need more serious dental work done. read more

The worst and most unfortunate experiences here. I went in for a regular checkup and was given a treatment plan to have a filling - pretty standard. The day I came in for the filling, I waited for more than 20 minutes past my appointment time and once I went back I was sent on my way after the filling WITHOUT a temporary over the area that was treated. Of course I was numb and didn't realize this until the weekend. Secondly, this place tried to STEAL $900 from me! I paid the non-refundable fee to have my impressions done for Invisalign. This was the only part of the treatment plan that was indicated as non-refundable - no foul there. They claimed the lab destroyed the impressions TWICE and that I would need to have them done again - this is after coming in twice already for the same thing. I decided to cancel the entire thing at this point because what full-time working adult has the energy, desire or time to keep repeating the same dentist appointment?! I don't. I paid for the Invisalign across two payments so that I could use my flexible spending dollars. They reluctantly refunded me initially only on the amount charged to my flexible spending credit card and attempted to lie their way through a series of undisclosed and undocumented reasons why I was not due the remaining amount on my personal credit card. Well, I had to seek legal counsel and get my credit union involved to file a dispute against the charge because their front office staff was unhelpful and the dentist all of a sudden had no time to speak with me and sort out the issue civilly. I was so disappointed because as a public health practitioner, I worry about people attempting to take advantage of patients when making time, finding a place you feel comfortable and affording the services already presents such a challenge for so many. Hell, all of us - if you're adulting then you're busy. Thankfully, I knew how to navigate my way through all of this to get a full, and complete refund (DON'T PLAY WITH MY MONEY!), but there are so many who wouldn't and be at a loss. I will never patron this place again! Nor will i recommend this place. I can't tell anyone where to go and I know as much as I didn't have an experience that matched my expectations, someone else can. So with that, I would just suggest proceeding with extreme caution! They run a real loose and vague business through there. read more

Dr. Presson is wonderful! When I made my appointment online last week at 9:00 at night, she called me within moments to confirm the details and time (at 9:00pm!). The fact that the dentist herself called me told me something was different about this place. I just had my first appointment with her and she was so kind and personable. The staff is great and seem to love their work. The office smells like a spa and there is so much attention to detail to ensure a relaxing environment. It's unlike any dental office I've ever been to. Dr. Presson made me feel calm and understood. When I told her I hadn't been to a dentist in many years, she didn't make me feel ashamed like I have with other dentists. I'm so happy to have been told about Dimples by a friend. Dr. Presson has been so great. I went to the same dentist my whole life and when I moved I was extremely nervous to find a new one. Sometimes you hear horror stories about a simple cleaning going wrong. I chose her because she was the best dentist in my area and thankfully she didn't disappoint. She and her staff were so nice and easy to talk to. She answered all of my questions and did a great job with my cleaning, and again with filling my cavities. One of the best things is she doesn't price gouge. Before she charges you she will talk to you about what you need to have done and break it up into more than one visit if you can't afford it all at once. And she will try to help you find cheaper alternatives if she can, but she's always honest about it. Cherry on top: she tries to give back to her community too. When I was there about a month ago she and her staff were using their time off on the weekend to feed the homeless. Legit. Not even an exaggeration.
