The next week, he and his 4-person crew arrived with a full-size compacting dump truck, and hauled out every piece of furniture, cleaned out all closets, cleared out shelves, drawers, kitchen cabinets, removed old bicycles, a refrigerator, exercise equipment, TVs, essentially 40 years of accumulated junk and more. And they left the place broom-clean. He said they'd arrive at 8am and be done by 2pm. He was in fact wrong. When I arrived at the house at 7:30am to meet them, they were already there! And they finished at 2pm as predicted. His crew was not just a bunch of random day workers, but rather a close knit group of guys who have worked for him for years. They were, to a person, totally professional, and respectful of my parents' house and property, even though they were hauling out essentially junk. I called Nick at Dimola Brothers to ask about an estimate for a house cleanout. All the furniture, and most of the contents of the house had to be gone. 15 years of living there, junk had accumulated, and was made unusable because of a hoarding situation and rat infestation. Additionally I had some things I needed to sort out or keep. I had spent weekends over 2 months doing some of the separating, and putting important things aside or in bags. I was afraid I had missed something and I'd be throwing out something important. No doubt, I'm sure if I put too much thought into it, I would have nit-picked at everything. Nick showed up late, after normal hours, for the estimate, gave me a price, and said he could have it done in one day (I thought I'd have to take off a few days from work). His guys were there on a Saturday, ahead of me, waiting on me having breakfast on the stoop. 4 guys, a dumpster truck, and a traditional garbage truck with compactor. With 30 gallon bins, they were POLITE, sensitive to the issues that I had to work under, with all the kids toys and everything being thrown out, asked me what stays and what goes, and one person walked the whole house with me to know this information. Every step of the way, they asked if I wanted this or that, but when I told them "everything goes in this room, except THAT thing," EVERYthing went as I had asked for, and the things that I asked to be left, were left. They even found a passport, and other various sundry items that others would not have cared to bring to my attention. Dimola Bros. also worked with 2 guys who saw things that could be salvaged so they took intact items off to the side and saved them for their church charity. Last fall I called Dimola Bros to help me dispose of a giant, extremely heavy, covered in thick Corian, multi-tiered display piece from retail client of mine. It was in a storage unit in Queens and it took five guys to get it in there. When I showed up Nick had sent 1 guy (I think his name was Ephraim-but I can't remember) and I was a little annoyed because I told Nick how heavy it was, and I thought "oh great now I'm going to have to wait for 2 other guys to show up". Well this guy was like Superman. He got it on the cart, we wheeled it out and I went back inside to grab something, by the time I came out the piece was half way in the trash truck & the compactor (or whatever you call it) was eating away at it. Nick from Dimola is right on, not only with his quotes, but his prompt and efficient service. I've been using Dimola for demo and garbage removal for over 10 years. Last Monday, I had them move out a heavy duty Maytag washer.
