I needed to help my elderly parents empty the house they lived in for 40 years. We needed to get it ready to sell. The place was a mess. Due to age and health issues, they were not able to keep up with needed maintenance and care of the house and their belongings. I came across several generic rubbish removal services when I searched on Google. It was difficult to tell them apart and they all made it impossible to know exactly how much I would be paying at the end of the day. I then remembered an article I saw last year in The New York Times about a guy named Nick Dimola who specialized in cleaning out homes after people die. I looked him up and gave him a call. We scheduled an appointment for him to come see the house and give an estimate. I knew immediately that he ran a tight ship. He walked through my parents' house with an expert's eye for what needed to be done. He guaranteed me a fair all-in price. The next week, he and his 4-person crew arrived with a full-size compacting dump truck, and hauled out every piece of furniture, cleaned out all closets, cleared out shelves, drawers, kitchen cabinets, removed old bicycles, a refrigerator, exercise equipment, TVs, essentially 40 years of accumulated junk and more. And they left the place broom-clean. He said they'd arrive at 8am and be done by 2pm. He was in fact wrong. When I arrived at the house at 7:30am to meet them, they were already there! And they finished at 2pm as predicted. His crew was not just a bunch of random day workers, but rather a close knit group of guys who have worked for him for years. They were, to a person, totally professional, and respectful of my parents' house and property, even though they were hauling out essentially junk. In sum, Nick Dimola and his crew are a class act and I couldn't recommend them any more highly. If you want piece of mind that the job is going to get done right, on time and on budget, I recommend you give him a call. WL read more

I called Nick at Dimola Brothers to ask about an estimate for a house cleanout. All the furniture, and most of the contents of the house had to be gone. 15 years of living there, junk had accumulated, and was made unusable because of a hoarding situation and rat infestation. Additionally I had some things I needed to sort out or keep. I had spent weekends over 2 months doing some of the separating, and putting important things aside or in bags. I was afraid I had missed something and I'd be throwing out something important. No doubt, I'm sure if I put too much thought into it, I would have nit-picked at everything. Nick showed up late, after normal hours, for the estimate, gave me a price, and said he could have it done in one day (I thought I'd have to take off a few days from work). His guys were there on a Saturday, ahead of me, waiting on me having breakfast on the stoop. 4 guys, a dumpster truck, and a traditional garbage truck with compactor. With 30 gallon bins, they were POLITE, sensitive to the issues that I had to work under, with all the kids toys and everything being thrown out, asked me what stays and what goes, and one person walked the whole house with me to know this information. Every step of the way, they asked if I wanted this or that, but when I told them "everything goes in this room, except THAT thing," EVERYthing went as I had asked for, and the things that I asked to be left, were left. They even found a passport, and other various sundry items that others would not have cared to bring to my attention. Dimola Bros. also worked with 2 guys who saw things that could be salvaged so they took intact items off to the side and saved them for their church charity. All in all, house cleaned up and peace of mind restored, 6 hours end to end. Even the garage. I'm impressed and would highly recommend Nick and his company. read more

My grandparents were hoarders who lived into their 90's and accumulated tons of junk over the years--the fact that their apartment was enormous and they were empty nesters for the last 40 years only made it worse. I paid for a cleanout with a "residential" junk removal company, but a full truck and $900 later, the apartment looked almost exactly the same. After walking by a garbage truck from a demolition company, I realized just what type of company I needed to call. I looked around and found Dimola Bros online. Their demolition experience meant that I could have them remove anything--not just furniture and garbage. I had big metal built in shelves with tons of crap on them that I wanted taken out and other built in things that other junk haulers probably wouldn't have been able to remove. If you need removal of junk that's too big, too difficult to break down, or you just have too much of it for typical residential hauling guys to handle, you'll save time, money and hassle by giving Nick a call. These guys are reliable, clean, efficient and just all-around nice guys. read more

Last fall I called Dimola Bros to help me dispose of a giant, extremely heavy, covered in thick Corian, multi-tiered display piece from retail client of mine. It was in a storage unit in Queens and it took five guys to get it in there. When I showed up Nick had sent 1 guy (I think his name was Ephraim-but I can't remember) and I was a little annoyed because I told Nick how heavy it was, and I thought "oh great now I'm going to have to wait for 2 other guys to show up". Well this guy was like Superman. He got it on the cart, we wheeled it out and I went back inside to grab something, by the time I came out the piece was half way in the trash truck & the compactor (or whatever you call it) was eating away at it. It was crazy. I told him he was awesome. And the price was fine, I called around and they were the same or a little less than the other quotes I got. Needless to say I would use them again. read more

We were looking for a crew to get rid of a large conveyor belt, as well as other random junk, in a storage room under our office, which seemed like a daunting task. Nick came over for a demo and gave me an incredibly fair price on the spot. On the day of the demolition, two of his men came and worked quickly, efficiently and were highly professional and composed even when we had a conflict with our next door neighbors about the project. Best of all, they cleaned up all of the dust left behind--it looks amazing! I would absolutely recommend Nick and his crew for any demolition/rubbish removal projects. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. read more

Top notch professional company. Dimola Bros., Inc. removed and disposed of my upright piano from a high floor apartment on short notice. Nick from Dimola is right on, not only with his quotes, but his prompt and efficient service. I've been using Dimola for demo and garbage removal for over 10 years. Last Monday, I had them move out a heavy duty Maytag washer. He quoted me $150 right over the phone, no bull$*%^ when other appliance removal were charging $320 just for taking up space in their truck, and that's not even including the quote for the removal which you wouldn't get until the mover came in to assess the job. Thanks Nick. read more

It took me a long time to find a company that would agree to pick up the trash after our daughter's wedding late on a Saturday night in Brooklyn. And then I found DiMola Brothers. Nick assured me they would do the job, and be there on time. When the party was over and all the guests had left, there they were - on the street ready to go. Nick was so easy to work with, and I felt assured I could depend on him and his company. I would highly recommend DiMola Brothers; they are true to their word. read more

I had an excellent experience with Dimola Bros. The men arrived on time, and removed several heavy items from my apartment expediently and carefully. The crew was courteous and very professional. We are moving and it was a relief to get rid of unwanted furniture and other items rather than worrying about their being left as an eyesore on the street in front of our private house on our moving day. The cost was reasonable and I highly recommend this company. read more
