We returned somewhat tentatively to Dim Sum after a visit some years ago when my vegetarian other half ordered 'Chinese vegetable' in sauce as his main, and was disappointed to be served a dish containing just Chinese leaf in sauce, which was probably just about substantial enough to be deemed a side dish.
To be fair, the menu did read 'vegetable' in the singular. And we'd heard good things about this place in the intervening years, and when walking past had noticed lots of Chinese people dining, which is always a good sign. So we gave it another go.
For our starter we shared a vegetarian platter, which was a fantastic and interesting mix of tasty bites, such as spring rolls, wontons, and crispy seaweed. My main course was delicious crispy chilli chicken, and my other half was very pleased with his tofu in Szechwan sauce, which also contained (thankfully) a range of vegetables.
Prices were a little more expensive than some nearby Chinese restaurants, and the service was a bit perfunctory, but we certainly won't leave it so long before we return this time. read more
