T E R R I B L E .
Went for dinner being the only one to vouch for this place as A) all you douche- I mean, fine people said it was great and B) I was starving for authentic Chinese food.
There was one table with Cantonese ppl seeming to have a good time so I thought "Ok, this could do." What approached us was a zombie waiter clearly having given up on life many dynasties ago. I thought "It's ok, he'll see I'm here to appreciate real food, not the takeaway routine; it will be fine."
I needed Google Translate and 20 hearing aids for every syllable wheezed.
I asked "Does it come with rice?" He mumbled shit that made no sense and forced pointed me to the fried rice menu. Why would I want fried rice with my twice cooked pork. But I'm a first time visitor to the country so maybe this is how it's done here?
I ask for green tea.
I get a lonely pot of 3 leaves.
I have never felt so insulted.
My friends who only came here because I mentioned it was great flavors got shitty service and I was especially pissed off because the love of my life was given a plate and knife with visible gunk he wiped off politely and said nothing about because he is a beautiful soul, plus I couldn't find anyone to bitch out for 20 minutes until the food arrived.
What I got was not what I ordered.
The menu said the chef was specifically specialized in the kind of dishes from the Sichuan region.
It wasn't twice cooked pork.
That was an abomination with 2 slices of veg that had no business being there in the first place. No leeks? Imposter.
We ordered 3 different portions of fried rice.
It arrived in one pot enough for 2 and made it awkward to share while unable to ask any questions because who's going to understand anything anyway and plus no one appeared for another 30min. Oh but the check appeared lightning fast on its own.
That was the angriest dinner I've ever had.
Never been more embarrassed to open my mouth to suggest anything.
So fuck this place.
And screw you guys for telling me it was good.
The 2 ppl I was with ordered sweet and sour chicken to be safe and even that was abysmal. read more
