Dr. Capizzi review I just had my surgery done by Dr. Capizzi…read moreon Tuesday, January 24th. I interviewed another top plastic surgeon in the area who didn't give me any of the innovative ideas that Dr. Capizzi recommended for the best outcome possible. These products include the Sientra / 'gummy bear' implants to replace my old silicone ones. These Sientra implants are the safest implants available on the market, and they have a 20-year and up to a lifetime guarantee. They have the least complications of any implant on the market, including for ruptures or capasculsr contraction and other complications. These Sientra implants have a more cohesive gel that does not leak like other typical implants (imagine cutting a gummy bear in half and you have two solid pieces that are still intact- this is what happens with this particular type of gel implant). Dr. Capizzi also inserted a dissolvable mesh support at the bottom of my breast to make sure that the stays in place and also to stops drooping due to gravity / aging, which hopefully, means that this will be my last surgery. I am a 54 years old and this will be my third implant revision and, hopefully, the last one! Although my breasts are still sore and tender and the scars are healing, I already feel much better at day 6 then I felt with the other two surgeries at 2 weeks! I told Dr. Capizzi that he had 'carte blanche' to do whatever was necessary on the operating table to achieve the best possible outcome, and I actually went down a size because the larger implants that were similar in size to what I had previously did not give him the desired results that he wanted- and that he knew that I wanted. I am 100 percent confident that my breasts are going to be absolutely gorgeous once the swelling goes down and the scars heal, I can already tell they're going to be beautiful, fully supported, and nice and perky. The other thing that I asked him to do when doing the implant switch out and breast lift, was I wanted my nipples to be smaller and even, which has bugged me my entire life and has also now been corrected and I am absolutely thrilled about! I wanted a more full implant at the top with a little bit better cleavage so I chose the 'Bombshell' implant, which is the latest and greatest gummy bear implant available. It's a little fuller than the other available gummy bear implants, but they still feel nice and soft. Dr. Capizzi and his team will go over all of your options with you at your initial visit, with no pressure to go one way or the other, He'll show you pictures on a large screen of different women with various different types of implants, so you'll be able to see not only his past work but make notes of which ones you like and the look that you want to achieve along with him also taking copious notes on what your personal objectives are. His entire team is truly amazing- very professional and very caring- from Amy who will help you with pricing and scheduling, to Megan, who was my nurse, Plus the wonderful young woman that did my first post operative lymphatic drainage ultrasound, which was at day three (at my first post operative appointment, where they check to make sure everything is looking good and is healing properly). At that appointment, they also take off the Steri strips and fit you with a post-surgical bra, which, I believe, was designed by Dr. Capizzi himself+ it's so much more supportive than the old, traditional white cotton bras I was sent home before. Dr. Capizzi specializes in breast surgery, even very difficult cases like mine, I have very dense, fibro cystic breasts and I have very thin skin, on top of that- but he took it all in stride and wasn't phased by any of that in the least, I am 100% positive that he was the absolute best option as compared to any other surgeon. In fact, I have three friends that are currently exploring breast surgery, and I will be definitely referring them to Dr. Capizzi! Last but not least, Dr. Capizzi was recommended to me not only by multiple friends of mine as their Doctor, but he was also recommended to him by another plastic surgeon when asking for his recommendation for the best Surgeon for breasts. This retired plastic Surgeon from Charlotte said 'if you need your breast done, you need to talk to Dr. Capizzi, he is the absolute best at what he does and if this was for my wife or daughter, that's definitely where Iwould take them'. Another note is that the other plastic surgeon that I talked to, who was also very highly venerated and with over 40 years of experience, did not offer up any of the innovative ideas or products like the gummy bear implants or the dissolvable mesh to support the implant, He also did not offer lymphatic drainage ultrasounds or any other things that Dr. Capizzi automatically includes with his surgeries to flatten out the scars and to give his patients the best results. If you are considering any procedure that can be performed by a plastic surgeon, go here first!

I went in for a breast reduction. I had an augmentation with silicone implants many many years…read morebefore. The plan was to remove the old implants, reduce the size significantly but place in a gummy bear implant as well as a mesh lift. Also part of the plan was to do Lipo around the bra area to reduce total circumference size for the entire breast area. I came out of surgery feeling swollen for several weeks so it wasn't until weeks in that I noticed that I still couldn't lower my arms because of what seemed to be a large lump of breast tissue under the armpit area, creating what looked like another small breast. Not only was it uncomfortable, but just truly embarrassing look and not at all what I paid for. My breast area not symmetrical in the fact that they look more like a blob that a round shaped breast. I pitched an absolute fit, cried and had decided I would get a lawyer if he didn't go back in and remove that under armpit tissue that wasn't there before the first surgery. So at that point I went back under the knife for round two and came out with scars that now go up my back and I can never wear anything strapless straight across my back due to the incision areas showing. All in all it's been well over a year later and I still cry all the time at how I look. I am one of those people that feel like you get what you pay for. But in this situation, I paid way more than any of my friends did going to other surgeons in the Lake Norman area and I ended up with the most botched job of any of them. All of my friends have had major success stories, and I am still sitting over here sick to my stomach that I spent hard earned money and I'm still so unhappy with the way I look.

The American health care system is whack. I had to pay the surgeon, the surgery center, the…read moreanesthesiologist and I signed a release that if they had to leave dissolving sutures in the surgical site, I've have to pay them too. But that's my editorial and none of it is Charlotte Surgery Center's fault. Today, we're reviewing the Charlotte Surgery Center Museum Campus. Lots of communication from them (not as much from the surgeon) with pre-op instructions, post-op instructions, screening questions, scheduling, payments, and confirmations. My wife and I arrived for our 5:15 am at 4:55 am (the Lyft ride was early) and they don't open the doors until 5:00 am. A brief wait outside before the initial gatekeeper brought us inside. A comfortable waiting area with wifi and free coffee and some paid vending machines. No eating or drinking for me, but I got my wife a cup of coffee while she hung out waiting for me. I saw a LOT of people today to justify the estimated $13,000 bill for today's procedure. I was called over to the registration nurse who discussed payment (hooray for insurance!). Screening nurse who brought me back to the pre-op waiting area. Prep nurse who got me my gown, warm blankets and set the IV. Anesthesiologist nurse. The anesthesiologist herself. The operating room nurse. The surgeon who marked the spot where the excision was taking place and confirmed it with me (no easy mistakes to be made today!). All of this took about two hours before I was finally wheeled back into the operating room. The anesthesiologist stuck some Versed into the IV and I didn't even get to count backwards from ten. I saw her put the drugs into the IV and then I woke up in the recovery room. Perfect! I don't like the mushy part in the middle and these drugs were like a "skip" button on the DVR of my brain. I do not remember a darned thing! And if you're worried about me, please don't. This was minor outpatient surgery that took a half hour. I'm already home and writing Yelp reviews with sufficient pain killers and post-operative instructions. I'm perfectly okay! [Review 18565 overall - 3340 in North Carolina - 2087 of 2022.]

1 Star I am…read moreextremely disappointed with the billing and refund process at Charlotte Surgery Center - Museum Campus. I paid $1,450 toward my facility charges, and after speaking directly with UnitedHealthcare, I was informed that a refund is due based on how my claim was processed and the surgery center's contract with my insurance. I have contacted Charlotte Surgery Center multiple times and have also spoken with someone in the billing department, but I still have not received my refund or a satisfactory resolution. UnitedHealthcare has now sent a formal refund request letter to the surgery center on my behalf. I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because of the continued delays and lack of resolution. Recovering from surgery is stressful enough. A patient should not have to repeatedly call, email, contact their insurance company, and file complaints just to get a billing issue resolved. I hope Charlotte Surgery Center takes this matter seriously and returns the money that UnitedHealthcare says I am owed. I will update this review if and when my refund is received.

Never even had my scheduled pre op consult to meet him in person and ask my questions. To say what I want or not. To decide to even go through with it. I Woke up to my face changed forever. Ruined Took fat from wherever he wanted. I had NO say. Never met him due to being given the exact opioid I told them I could not take. Basically drugged up and he did whatever he wanted. I never discussed anything with him because I never even had my pre op. It's insane. His wife said "I seemed LUCID enough to me". While I could not even stand up by myself. I couldn't function. My lipo sites are deformed and I was told by other surgeons that fat should never be taken from where he took it. My breasts fat transfer all went away except for lots of bumpy dead fat and he wrecked my beautiful face. I'm still trying to figure out solutions. He even added PRP in as well. $$$ It's insane he never even met with me. That they believe they can do whatever they want. In my experience this surgeon is a dangerous person and should stick to sculpting clay and not real people.

There are serious risk, necrosis and cysts happen regularly, and transferring large volumes of fat at one time can often lead to these negative outcomes.
