Dillinger's Pub is a great dive bar, with all your favorite drinks and free popcorn! The staff gets the popcorn for you and it was super crisp, salty, and delicious. I love a good dive bar with a popcorn machine. Nate and I just sat at the bar and had a drink before our dinner reservations. The bartender was super nice and friendly, and gave me a recommendation of a drink I'd never had before. The playlist was awesome and not super loud, and we got to catch some of the Olympics on the TVs at the bar. They do serve food at this bar, which I'd be interested in trying. I'd definitely come back to Dillinger's in the future, and if I lived nearby, it would be a go-to spot for me. read more

First off, the "perch" dinner is European perch aka Zander. Visiting a Michigan restaurant you expect to get midwestern fish, it's disappointing to get imported Zander that is just not that great. Secondly the waitress could not care less that we were there. No hi, thank you, goodbye etc she was basically a mute. When asked what the draft beers were she kind of shrugged and listed off a couple of the 10+ they had on tap. Seems like an OK dive bar but don't come here expecting more. read more

Stopped for lunch. Quiet inside with a very friendly bartender. We were expecting a bit more "nostalgia" or some history about Dillinger but we didn't see anything of that. We had lunch anyway.... we ordered a hamburger with sweet potato fries & a side of coleslaw. The burger was juicy and cooked properly, the sweet potato fries were a bit soft. The coleslaw was really good. As always.... the Beer is very cold !! read more

We used to go to this Pub every time we visited Traverse City. The staff was slow, we had to go and get our own beers. I loved the sweet potato fries in the past bc they come with a cinnamon/honey butter . They brought them out no butter cook said " we don't have honey " Then they made the mistake at putting in front of the entrance to the kitchen ... pure filth! The cook poured grease in the service sink, I took pictures it was so dirty I sent a text to my daughter ( we were suppose to meet there ) and told her not to come we would meet someplace else. Going with three starts for service - but the appetizers we ordered were awesome! Stopped in around 5 on a Saturday in January. Nice crowd but not crowded and plenty of tables still open. Service was spotty.. seemed to be enough girls on staff, but for some reason we waited forever to place our order for food and drinks. I felt like we waited a super long time for three appetizers, too. Deep Fried Mushrooms - these things are HUGE. SO if you aren't a fan of the big mushrooms with lots of fluffy breading, these aren't for you. I personally love mushrooms so these were awesome. Mozz. sticks - your standard bar fare. Good! The waffle fried nacho thing - OMG this was amazing! Highly recommend these for a munchie. SO GOOD. All in all, yeah, we'd come back. read more

Staff was super nice (both waitresses helping us were super friendly & awesome) but yiiiokes this organization is terrible. Sat for two hours waiting for our food & they were out of nearly everything on the menu. Ended up with tacos ... & they were out of tortilla chips so they gave us fries. And after two hours of waiting the tacos had hypothermia they were so cold. I am baffled as to how a business can operate like this. They ended up comping our sandwich & tacos but still not worth the trip. Cheese balls were crusty & over cooked & took 1 hour to receive. Staff was so extremely nice! Went in to watch a football game and they changed the music to the football game which alot of places won't do! We ordered beer by the pitcher and all ordered snacky bar foods! I have stomach issues and ended up outside sick. Thinking the staff was going to kick me out for thinking I was drunk. When I lived in TC several years ago, this was my go to place. I am sad to report that after my experience here yesterday, I will avoid it in the future. The food was fine, but the service is ATROCIOUS. I asked the server what beers they had on tap and she basically pointed to the bar and said she didn't know. Wtf do you mean you don't know? If you don't know, it's YOUR JOB to find out and tell customers!! She was just so rude and it was ridiculous. If they can get their service together, I would be fine to go back. read more

You want cold, cheap beer? You want a no frills kinda place? Then you want to checkout Dillinger's. This is a nice alternative to some of the more upscale Traverse City bars/restaurants. The beer was insanely cheap. Like $3-$4 for two pints. Or maybe even less if you go Wednesday's. Good place to hangout for a bit and waste money on Keno lol. read more

Word of advice: visit this place in the afternoon, order something for lunch (the dilly dip or a burger would suffice) and take in the sense of history this building-along with bootlegger's next door, possess. You don't come across many bars like this today (antique phone on the wall, tiled ceiling, ceiling fans running on a conveyor belt in Bootleggers-just awesome!) If you are feeling brave, try the Escargo. Yes, Escargo in a bar-and it's pretty damn good, too. Just don't go here at night-especially on wednesday. We ordered the garlic waffle fries and let me tell you they live up to their name... it was extremely garlicky. Nonetheless, they were good. The rest of the food was good as well. I tried the Doublewide burger and Garlic fries this past weekend. It was fantastic! The service was great, the staff very friendly and helpful. It really is amazing the great food their cooks send out of such a small kitchen! If you're not into 1/2 pound burgers, try the fish! We went in here in search of food at the end of a long day. We sat down and asked the waitress what kind of microbrews they carried. "We're not that kind of bar," she snottily replied. "You can go down the street if you want that." We asked for a beer list which included an entire column of microbrews (some of which were even on tap). Really? You work at a bar and don't know what a microbrew is? We then ordered off that list, and she had no idea what we were ordering and questioned us like we were making words up. Then, God help us, it was time to order food. My friend ordered a cheeseburger and asked what kind of cheese they had. In the nastiest tone she could muster, the waitress told him to just tell her what he wanted and the kitchen would handle it. How would she know anyway? She just works there. After hearing one of my disgusted comments she told us she was the only one working and thanked us for our patience. This was directly after spending a good 5 minutes talking to a group of her friends while we waited for our drink orders we'd placed over 10 minutes ago. The food was bar food. Nothing special. The beer list was good, but she didn't know they had any of it. Wasn't worth it. She can give her nasty attitude to another customer because I definitely won't be returning. read more

Lured in by their online website. Don't be fooled. The online menu is not what they have in the pub. The website is a lie. Wanted wood fired pizza but that wasn't in the menu. Place was dead at 6pm on Saturday night while it's sister location next door was packed with standing room only. This should have been a clue. Found a seat had to wait about 15 minutes for server. When server did arrive took drink order but never provided drink specials or menus. Drinks took over 10 minutes to get and then had to ask for food menus. Ate meal, Baron Lamm Bam, which was ok. Upcharged $5 for fries and bacon. Once finished waited over 30 minutes for server who never came. Never got another chance for an additional drink. Finally had to ask bartender for bill. She apologized said our server went off shift. No comp on anything for inconvenience. Got bill. Paid with credit card and was charged a $1.25 service fee for using the card. Wanted to like this place. Had been to TC hundreds of times and told how good this place was but it was horrible. Not to add insult to injury but the place is unkept. Old popcorn on the floor, tables not wiped down as they should be and the servers are slow and disorganized. The restrooms are a disaster. Unclean, loose floor tiles, door doesn't close and missing ceiling tiles. Ugg. Save your money and time, go to the Blue Tractor. read more

Only 3 stars because it was a little dirty feeling and there were some patrons who were there on a bachelor party and got a bit unruly. The bouncer did nothing. We came to enjoy a meal, nice comfortable establishment. But the waitress had an attitude. She took our order, instead of placing the food on the table, she pretty much threw the dishes, as the plates slid to us. Had to go to bar to get tab, finding she double charged us on drinks. Went to bartender and informed him of the error, he took it to waitress and she was extremely rude, told me to go back to table. I am a good tipper, but when servers act like this, no tip was given. After receiving food and our drinks we had to fight to get their attention to get our credit card back that was held just to pay our bill. If you're going to cut someone off at least have the balls to say or do it, don't just ignore the customers. I am a bartender, you need to at least let people know! We stopped in at Dillinger's to grab a quick sandwich and drink. The actual bar was cool, interesting decorations, good tables and bar. The menu was very standard bar food, but the drink/shot/beer menu was pretty impressive. I had the California Club Wrap, again it was good, standard, fries were fine. My favorite bartender in TC works here. He remembers me every time I come in as I come into town every few weeks for a night of fun. Order from the bar, you'll get better service. Horrible service... I have never been asked to drink water or kicked out of a place in my life... up until tonight. Belligerent drinking is not my style... I have never felt so discriminated against in my life. I have spent time in this particular establishment before and have felt welcome after drinking many more drinks than I have had tonight.. I was a docile costumer who was simply people watching. I have never felt discrimination quite like this before and hope no one else has to endure the same discriminatory tone, ever either.
