Three stars is the average between the totally condescending, patient-hostile front desk staff, and…read morethe high quality doctors. Perhaps the doctors are so busy that the staff attempts to drive away potential patients. Apparently, when a sick patient recently arrived for a scheduled appointment, the staff turned them away because they were sick (could be COVID you know, or not). Requesting that they at least talk to the doctor about their illness via teleconference during their scheduled appointment time, they were seemingly told NO, the doctor can't talk to you (too busy - even though the visit was scheduled?)! So... it seems you should only go to the doctor if you are feeling well... If you can brave the Soviet-style receptionists or somehow sneak past them, the rest is fine.

Five stars for the doctors. Zero stars for the staff (with a few individual exceptions for some…read morenice ones). Excellent doctors, and front desk staff are mostly ok, but when you call to speak with a nurse to get a prescription refill or because of an issue with a prescription? Be prepared for astonishingly awful customer service. I've had nurses who were utterly rude, condescending, and outright hostile when I had a simple question about a possible drug interaction, or just to ask the doctor for a different prescription because of a medical issue. Everyone understands that some medical staff / nurses become jaded and cynical because of the types of drugs that people abuse (which is also not acceptable), but I'm talking about *routine prescriptions* here, like statins and antibiotics. It's appalling how shoddy their listening skills and interpersonal skills are. They are sorely lacking in manners and do not listen. If I didn't like my doctor so much, I would go elsewhere because of the rudeness of the staff. Here's hoping that the doctors and managers weed out the rude staff members and keep the good ones. I avoid calling there because I don't want to deal with them. What a shame.

I had a room in the part of the hospital that is being upgraded. It didn't even have a chair and I finally had to ask my doctor to get one in because of my back hurting so bad from laying down since I have hardware in it. What got to me was how uncaring some of the staff were, especially the night nurses. One even yelled at me and my roommate. I didn't even get a menu until the 2nd day when the really kind and professional nurse was on duty. I was told they didn't have heated blankets but he got me 2. I had to call multiple times just for a glass of ice until that day nurse. While they have a good selection of choices on the menu, when I was so nauseous, I had a hard time finding anything. I even had a gew meals ordered for me by the staff who didn't give me a menu. I excepted better.

Future jobs are not honoring my diagnosis as a disability. Although I am a healthcare professional and a former employee. Now the doctors are saying I can't work in my profession and i believe I am being retaliated against. This was the best experience I ever had at a hospital; phsyc. I was referred to Dr. Rebock by my primary care physician for consultation about an inguinal hernia…read morerepair. I had a really bad one quite large. I wanted somebody closer to home and with years of experience. I made the appointment, read some reviews (all good) and met Dr. Rebock. Great personality, wonderful man, I knew I'd be in excellent hands. And it turns out, we have a mutual friend, another physician with whom he did his residency! Small world. Set up the surgery date with the front office, also excellent and friendly folks, and on June 25 went under the knife (open hernia repair). Too many people to name, but nurses, technicians, anesthesiologist, all were great pre and post op. I'm still on my way to recovery as this one was a mess, but next time I need surgery, and if it's within his realm, Dr. Rebock is where I'll go.

He came highly recommended by my family doctor and then when someone who works at Botsford, they too said he was awesome and a top notch doctor. I had inguinal hernia surgery. The appointments before hand were pretty quick. Parking was not an issue and he did a great job of calming my nerves about it. He told me all of my options and made recommendations on which one he would do based off of my concerns. The day after surgery I walked for a mile. The next week I was ahead of schedule and probably getting a little bit too far ahead of myself. I really pushed his work to the max and it held up perfectly. 2 months later I was playing baseball (which obviously relies on twisting the abdomen) and a year and a half later it has not reoccurred. He gives you a good time line as far as what to expect and when you can do certain activities.

I was never able to see Dr. Stern because of the office staff!…read more I was referred to Dr. Stern by my Cardiologist, Dr. David. I made a new patient appt. (even though I called and begged to be seen earlier, because of specific symptoms I was experiencing, I was told NO and the appt. took over a month to obtain. One week before the appt. I received a phone call from Christine, she said she needed insurance info I told her that I did not have my card but I told her who my insurance company was, the type of insurance it was and my employer's name (based on numerous experiences, throughout my ENTIRE LIFE this is all that's needed to find out a person's insurance info) She said that she could not find me in the computer, I said to CALL she said NO she would not call. I asked to talk to the Office Manager, but I got someone in billing, Donna - same thing with her, and then (after I got very upset at the despicable patient relations) I was told that I'm not welcome as a patient if I didn't do the legwork myself and get my insurance info. I was also told that even if I did provide my insurance info over the phone I had to physically bring the card in to the office so they could verify it. Never in my life have I had issues like this. I would gladly provide my card if I had it, but I know that in instances when a patient does not have the info, that it is the billing/administrative staff's job to find it out. They flat out refused! I can't understand if it's because they are lazy or if it's because they hate their jobs. I would give the office staff there 0 stars if I could. I never saw the Doctor. I'm complaining to Beaumont Patient Relations and hoping I can even complain to the State Medical Board about the administrative staff here. I will certainly let my cardiologist know that he shouldn't refer patients based solely upon the office staff.
