    One sales person spoke to us the entire time we were there (an hour) and the organization of the store was confusing.

    Too expensive and too little of selection of the same thing,also just a plain t shirt is like 50 bucks and a tie also like 25 bucks

    They have a horrible return policy... If it's been more than 30 days they will not even give you a store credit.

I've been…read moreshopping at this Old Navy store since it opened many years ago, and I've always enjoyed the store. However, for at least the past year I believe it's been, there has been one particular employee--who I assume is either the manager or assistant manager--whose attitude has consistently made my shopping experience uncomfortable. I worked in retail for many years, so I understand how important customer service is, especially from someone in a leadership position. Unfortunately, every time I visit, this employee never smiles, never acknowledges customers, and comes across as extremely unapproachable. She often looks directly at me but doesn't say hello, and her overall demeanor is honestly intimidating. My most recent visit is what finally prompted me to write this review. I ran into this store an hour before closing, grabbed 3 T-shirts to try on, and when they didn't work for me, I placed them neatly back in the shopping bag and left it on a cart with other items. I was in a hurry, and I've seen employees sort items from those carts before. She was actually working in another area with one of the carts in front of her, putting things back. Since they were T-shirts folded & displayed on a table, I knew that they needed to be folded a certain way. If the items that I had just tried on were on a hanger, I most definitely would have put them back on the rack where I had found them. I always do. Again, I have worked retail so I know how frustrating it is when customers leave things in the dressing room or don't put things back. As I was leaving, she abruptly asked, "Are you done with that shopping bag?" in a way that made it very clear she disapproved. I immediately apologized and explained to her that I found out at the last minute that I was going to be attending a field trip the next morning with my grandson and needed a T-shirt that was long enough to wear with my leggings. I know I arrived at the store later but it still was within an hour of them closing. Since the T-shirt didn't work I was in panic mode trying to quickly find somewhere else where I could go before everything closed. Even after explaining what I needed and why I needed it, she never made eye contact, never said "thank you," never acknowledged my apology, and just continued working as if I wasn't there. I ended up feeling pressured to take the 3 T-shirts out of the bag and I attempted to fold them to the best of my ability & put the shopping bag back before leaving. She still never uttered a single word. As I was rushing out, trying to get to another store before closing, I just couldn't stop thinking about how she came across. I probably would've never written this review just because of this one incident, but it's just the way she presents herself every time I am in that store. She didn't do anything blatantly wrong, but her overall attitude, lack of friendliness, and the way she handles interactions really make customers feel unwelcome. A simple smile, acknowledgment, or polite tone can make all the difference. I truly hope management addresses this, because I really love shopping at our Old Navy. Her demeanor has been an ongoing issue and affects the overall atmosphere of the store. Every time I walk in the front door, I think to myself I hope "she" isn't here. She makes me feel THAT uncomfortable. It's crazy because I've never been in a store where one person who's never spoken a word to me made me feel that way. Also, I'll have to say I'm not one who is super sensitive at all. It takes a lot for something to get under my skin. I'm not a Karen. I don't expect an employee or even a manager to constantly check in on me or ask if I need anything but if I walk past you, just a simple smile would be nice to at least make me welcome in your store. As the holiday season approaches and everyone's in a hurry it's important for a manager and their employees to be friendly and kind even to those customers who don't make it easy. I've dealt with many of those customers in my past. It's your job as the manager/employee to keep your customers happy so they will return. At least that is what I have always been taught in the places where I worked retail.
