My husband and I took back two pair of slacks. I realize I'd had them for six months. The manager on duty a lady was very rude and made us stay there while she examined and picked up every piece of lint on the them. Finally giving us a gift card for the return. I worked retail for many many years. My manager would not allow us to act hateful towards our customers. The way it should have and would have been handled as follows...... satisfy the customer with a refund. After refused complete the items would be taken to the stockroom and removed any lint and steamed pressed and put back out. As long as they were still in fashion. Not putting myself through this again. read more

Oh my gosh!! This was my worst experience in Dillard's literally ever!!! I stopped to shop for my husbands bday in the lingerie department. I had about 6 items and asked a sales girl if she could start me a dressing room. She pointed to it and took to steps and sent me half way across the department, I still wanted more items to try on so I went and dropped them off and went back to continue looking. When I went back, the other women that were hanging out in the dressing room chatting had put them back on a rack out by the register. Not once in 30 min did any of them ask if I needed ANY help. I ended up buying 8 items, but carried them to 2 more departments until someone asked if I needed some help.. read more

Who knew service could be so great! Have shopped at Dillards Parkdale on and off through the years. Usually the service is non existent and finding even someone to ring up a purchase is difficult. They just ignore customers while engaging in personal conversation. However, a couple of weeks ago I went to the men's department and was helped by Clint, who was running the Polo area. He was so knowledgeable about the entire men's area and so very helpful that I returned yesterday and filled another need. Kudos to you, Clint.... hopefully, your bosses are paying attention. read more

I bought a lot of high end dresses here, maybe 10, for my wife. Mostly Calvin Klein. They NEVER got worn. I took them straight to the dry cleaners. They got damaged there (this is a story in of itself). I was told I needed to return them to Dillards as the fault was a manufacturers defect. This sounded very odd to me, but I phone Dillards to discuss this. Customer service said I needed to talk to the manger. I waited on hold. Some "lady" answered eventually. "Yep, what do you want." Nice way to answer the phone there. I calmly explained what happened and asked about this. "No!!! this has never happened with our products, and we do not take back clothes once they are worn." I then asked if she listened to me, because I specifically said these had NOT been worn. The lady, then proceeded to call me a liar. "Why would someone clean clothes they have worn...Hmmm..Hmm." I replied, "Ma'am, don't you wash your clothes after you buy them before you wear them?". Her: "We aren't talking about me and my personal habit, we are talking about YOU SIR." WOW!!!! She ranted at me and ended with "We aint taking Nothing Back"! I asked who she was and her response was "The Manager". I said the store manager? "Yes". I asked if I could have her name. Silence, then ....Yeah..you can have my name...ABSOLUTELY! So then I say, "well, what is it"? NANCY KRAFT. I said have a nice day, she replied very snarkily with the same. I can understand a company policy, if it exists..... but talking this way to a customer is just beyond the pale. At no point did I ever raise my voice or saying anything ugly or obscene. This lady should not be in any customer service position. I phoned a VP contact at the Corporate office. I wont say her name. Anyway, she said Mrs. Kraft was NOT the store manager, but an Assistant Manager. I told her the story and requested she listen to the audio recording. Well, she was shocked. I was asked to phone the district manger, just to stay in proper complaint protocol. I did. It took a while but eventually the District Manager phoned me back. She apologized (somewhat) and said they would take the dresses back. This was about it. While I DO absolutely appreciate this, she didn't care about the employee or their behavior. My suspicion is that if they discipline or fire anyone at Dillards who acts this way, they will have no employees. read more

I was driving through Beaumont on my way to visit family the other day and decided to stop at Parkdale mall. Most stores don't have a good selection of Men's clothing so I made my way to Dillards. I was greeted upon entry and treated extremely well and even given great suggestions by every sales associate I encountered, so they are definitely not the reason for this review. If I could give them 5 stars I would! The reason for this review is because of the horrible manager that was there. Very tall and slender man, I asked one of the other workers his name and he told me it was Jay so not sure if that's a nickname or his actual name. After I had found what I need for myself I went to a different section in the juniors to browse for my daughter and he was side eyeing me the entire time. Didn't know it was a crime to shop for my teen! Now I don't take things personal so that's besides the point. He absolutely treats his employees like trash! The young lady working this department- he was practically yelling at her in front of me and others I'm not sure what happened but that's no way to act, no need to embarrass the employee- talk to them civilized in the office! And it didn't even stop there. It seems like he was just such a bully to everyone. While I was checking out the sweet associate asked 'Jay' a question that I had regarding the return policy since I don't live near by. He ignored her and just glared at her. She asked again and he rolled his eyes, scoffed, and walked away! What on earth? I felt so bad for every employee there. Calm down sir you're just a department store manager, no reason to be on such a power trip. I will be reporting to the BBB. By far the racist location ever! Courtney the employee was extremely rude and screamed racist insults at customers. I spend thousands of dollars at this location and only to be harrassed and be called racist comments. NEVER WILL I GO THIS LOCATION! Dillar S. comments was right all this time. This dillard location teaches employees to be racist. I will never go to the Dillards Beaumont, TX location ever again! Well ladies, I was very offended today, 6-27-2011, when I went in to purchase my Clinique powder. Upon check out at the Clinique register, I was asked by the representative, "Where did you get this?" I told her I got the powder out of the drawer. She said,"Oh, you are not suppose to get anything out of our drawers," and then went on to explain to me that most other stores have locks on the drawers and they don't. The funny thing is there was another Clinique representative there serving another customer and saw me get the powder out of the drawer. I even asked that representative if she needed to hold it and she said, "oh no, you can bring it to the register." ??? The representative that checked me out talked to me like I was a child, and she reprimanded me for doing something she thought was wrong. I will not be purchasing any more of my makeup from the Dillards in Parkdale Mall. I have attempted to contact a manager in hopes of making them aware of how I was treated, and was told they were all in a meeting, and to call back later. Where is the customer service or support in this store? If the makeup drawers need to be locked, then get locks put on them! Please don't confront a customer that is about to pay $40 dollars for some powder, as if it's the customer's problem the drawers aren't locked!!! I would rather go to a store that does have locks on their drawers than be treated like I broke a secret rule! I wasn't even aware I was doing anything wrong until she blindsided me as I'm paying her! So ladies, DO NOT GET ANY CLINIQUE MAKEUP OUT OF THE UNLOCKED DRAWERS AT DILLARDS IN PARKDALE MALL!
