The wait times were a bit rough but I'm finding that to be the case everywhere, so I wouldn't necessarily dock them for this knowing this is the reality of healthcare facilities nowadays but I will make notes. Actually the reason I docked a star was cleanliness and this is an outdated looking facility. They get the job done. As I noted, I'm thankful the staff and doctors were all actually very friendly. When your sick, compassionate and patient people go a long way. The front desk staff were nice and seemed empathetic. I asked how long the wait time would be and the gal estimated 45 minutes. I got called in an hour after waiting, so she wasn't far off which I appreciated. The doctor was also very compassionate and even apologized for the wait, she didn't have to do that. She was efficient and once she saw me I was out quick. The whole experience was 2 hours which is rough when you're sick, but again, I'm finding that to be the case everywhere. The only thing that worried me is that the cleanliness of this spot was iffy. The floors in the waiting room were filthy...I was there at 12pm so they had only been open a few hours, I guess it just worries me when any medical site doesn't seem like it gets a sweep and mop daily. Maybe my expectations are too high? The back rooms were outdated and this urgent care could use a refresh but at the end of the day, they got the job done and I'm just grateful everyone was nice and as efficient as they could be.

Dr Williams asked me if I took calcium/D3. I have NEVER been D3 deficient and started taking calcium with D3 in it in when 50 years old as Dexa scan said a bit of osteopenia which has changed little in 25 years. We simply answered Dr Williams questions and I asked her to check my husband's hearing. The scribe and Billing Mgr will write in anything they can (true or not) to charge you extra! It was all routine exam, eyes, ear, throat heart, lung, and breast exam for me. No internal exams. We will be changing doctors asap and refuse to pay extra fees for routine exams and to answer questions. We are healthy, exercise, eat right, and NOT overweight. We reported them to Aetna FRAUD dept! I notified Dr Williams. She will be retiring in 2 years she told me. AVOID THIS GROUP with offices located in Ventura and Oxnard. This is the first time they started UPCHARGING despite going there for several years for our physicals/wellness visit!

So here we are on the day of my new patient exam, 2/29/15 @1000. I arrive at 0950 and sign onto a sheet. At the front desk sat, Rosie-one of the receptionist who didn't seem warm and welcoming. After about 10 minutes Nicole, registered me into the system and collected my co-pay. Within 5 minutes I was called back by Hannah, who I'm assuming is the MA, proceeded in taking my temp, weight and vitals-she also performed pre-appt questions to get a better gage for my visit. She then walked me to the exam room where I waited another 5-10 minutes for Dr. Dodge. My first impression of Dr. Dodge is that he is very warm-welcoming. He has great energy and displays true passionate, concern about your care. He actively listens as you voice your concerns and reiterates back to you. I like that he was consistent in asking if I had any questions, to make sure I understood his recommendations. The overall physical/assessment appointment was about 30 minutes, and then I was done. I would recommend Dr. Dodge to anyone looking for a new primary care physician. I'm happy to have finally found a primary care physician that actually cares and who is quite knowledgeable.
