I am writing this review to share my very negative experience with Dr. Cohen. While I had hoped to…read moresee a different doctor at the practice, I was scheduled with her. My concerns began when a PA associated with the practice recommended a colonoscopy without ever performing a physical exam. The lack of care continued with Dr. Cohen, who provided no instructions regarding my blood thinners. She failed to coordinate with my hematologist, and after the procedure, when I had bleeding issues, I still received no guidance on stopping my medication or when to restart my medication. I felt there was a disregard for my physical health. I made it clear before the procedure that I had an Achilles tendon injury that was almost healed. Despite this, I left the procedure with a new complication to that injury, requiring me to wear a boot for at least three weeks. When I expressed my concerns about all of these complications, I felt she completely shrugged them off. I left feeling unheard and disrespected. I would not recommend seeing this physician.

He is one of the few doctors that will follow up with a phone call after lab tests, something that most doctors no longer do. The reception area is clean, the staff is pleasant and organized. The wait is minimal.

I've been a patient for YEARS and only managed to see Dr. Lafsky in office ONCE due to repeated scheduling errors on their end. The final straw was after being denied a scheduled appt. With Dr. Lafsky by Nancy the office manager. All bc I missed an appointment while I was in the hospital with SEPSIS. Instead of telling the doctor I was there she sat me and my MOTHER down for 45min to lecture us about missing appointments. I even called from my potential deathbed to cancel and i saw Dr. Lafsky while in hospital!! Later that weekend, I retroactively received an invite from the receptionist Sam to an entirely different appointment the previous month that I did not make nor was I ever informed of. Clearly trying to clean up a screw up. So, after trying to schedule an over due Endo and colonoscopy for 3 years with this office, I finally gave up and found a new GI. I came in as a new patient, had my first appointment, and both procedures scheduled and performed in less than 2 weeks. If you are having issues with this office, it's them not you, just run. I needed to have a weight loss procedure done and since they were close I made a consult. I filled…read moreout the questions prior so they had all my history and than they charged me $50.00 and my wife and I had the consult with Dr Charbel. We discussed my need for having it and I had several medical conditions it would help if I had it done and he agreed that people do it for those health reasons. The doctor Halim Charbel told me they offered a medical weight loss program but I told him I knew about that and other doctors had offered it, but the fact you had to stay on the injections for life and these medications have not been proven for long term effects, I decided not to start them and opted for the ESG. The doctor said at the end of the consult that if I decide to go ahead with the ESG to call and they would schedule the procedure. I discussed it with my wife and decided to do it and called to make the appointment. Than I was told I have to speak to the nutritionist first so I made that appointment and spoke to her. The next this was to call to schedule. I called for several weeks and no one returned my calls. I finally received an email from a Kasey Lee Wills (very nasty person) informing me that now they want me to go through a medical weight loss program before they do the procedure. They do offer one on their website but no one ever said this was a condition. I even asked this prior to the consult and was going this route because my health insurance would pay for this if I went through a weight loss program but I did not want to wait and heard about this being less invasive and did not have to go through a weight loss program. So I agreed to pay for this myself. ($10,000.00) I replied and asked what kind of weight loss program did she mean by medical? Weight watcher's, or the they offer for $1495.00 or seeing a primary doctor and getting a prescription for weight loss for 6 months, but she did not reply. The original email she sent told me there is no reason to contact them again until I have proof of having the weight loss program completion. They have caused me and my wife a great deal of mental stress and aggravation. I have never seen a doctors office act like this. They lie, take your money and keep making you jump through more requirements and spend more money. This is bait and switch fraud that is illegal to lure people in and keep raising the cost. I am sure a doctor may get away with doing this by saying this is his opinion even though it was never said prior. I wrote this Kasey back telling he to sign me up for their medical weight loss clinic, but again she has not replied. I would STAY far away from this Doctor Charbel as possible. He may post a lower price, but do not count on it. I wanted to get this done ASAP and now it has been 4 months. I guess he bated me well. I have seen many scams but none as blatant as this.
