The zoo isn't large, but it's big enough to spend a morning or afternoon there as a family. If you have mobility issues, golf carts are available for rent, but if you're in good health and wear the right shoes, you can easily walk and cover the whole zoo. The zoo has a few hills (it is Kentucky) so do wear comfortable shoes and prepare to walk unless you rent a golf cart. My favorite parts were petting the kangaroos and also seeing the sheep dog demonstration. Do pay attention to the times for demonstrations and animal shows; they are worth seeing and the times are a bit limited. You can also feed the goats and interact with the animals, which I enjoyed. We also toured the underground cave, which was a lot of fun but involved a lot of steps. Some of the steps were wet and steep, so be aware of that if you have mobility issues. If you're a parent of young kids or a person who enjoys animals and nature, Kentucky Down Under Adventure Zoo is a great attraction and worth a visit. It's not too far of a drive from Bowling Green, and a lot of schools and summer day camps visit on field trips.

When I brought it to The attention of the young girl she was kind but there was nothing she could do. She was too intimidated by the adults who were rough housing so we decided to leave as did three other families. All stated they didn't feel safe to allow their children to continue to play. There is so much to do here! They had a roller skating rink, laser tag, arcade games, bumper cars, a bungee jump thingy, a bowling alley and a bar area with pool tables for the grown ups. My mother-in-law bought the kids the unlimited wristbands (excludes the arcade games and bowling.) They spent the majority of their time between the bungee jump and bumper cars. The arcade was pretty typical; spend $40 on games to win $3 worth in prizes. But hey, it's all in good fun. The place is pretty well maintained and clean. The employees were friendly. The hubby and father-in-law enjoyed a game of pool while they waited for the kids. This is definitely a place for fun for the whole family. Tip: this would be a great place to have a birthday party!

We were looking for something to check out while we visited Bowling Green, and trains are always a good idea. The Good: *Admission is $16 ($14 seniors and vets) for the museum and tour or $8 for just the museum. *Some nice displays in the museum of historic rail antiquities. *Friendly staff *Touring the rail cars is always fascinating, and they've done a great job refurbishing and keeping them in good shape. The Meh: *Smallish souvenir shop to pick up a few gifts and/or souvenirs for train lovers. The Ugly: *Touring the rail car in the summer is just a downright awful experience. I mean, they try their best to cool off the trains with AC, but it's like spitting into the wind. I was schvitzing more than a turkey in November. TLDR: Not the best train museum I've ever visited--and I've visited a LOT--but it was a good way to kill a few hours and didn't break the bank.

The tender loin you could cut with a fork, and the potatoes were perfect. The flavors danced like a lullaby on the tip of my tongue. The burger was fantastic. If I could give them a 10, I would. If you want a meal deal, this is not the place. The restored building is done perfectly. The art is impeccable. The vibe is luxurious, but not pompous. I'll never stay here again. And seriously, what is with all the artificial perfume in the lobby and hallways? If you're trying to cover up smells, try cleaning! Try baking soda! Try airing it out! You can't just spray five cans of air freshener at it every day! I shudder to think what it's doing to the staff's endocrine systems...

Candlewood and Holiday Inn Express are both parts of the IHG Hotel group which means they share the same loyalty program. We were looking for a hotel in the Bowling Green, KY area and were hoping to use reward points. That's when we found the Candlewood Suites. Being an extended stay hotel means that all of the rooms had a fully equipped small kitchenette with a small cooktop, a full-size refrigerator, microwave pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. In addition, there are other small appliances (blenders, slow cookers, etc.) available for loan in the lobby. Also available for loan are a variety of DVRs and board games. There is also a free laundry available for guest use. A small convenience store in the lobby offers a iimited selection of frozen and other microwavable meals plus snacks and beverages. The room was spacious and very comfortable with a large desk/table and a very comfy lounge chair. The hotel was very clean, very quiet and the staff was very friendly. Don't let the idea of "extended stay" make you avoid certain hotels. This was a very nice place for a 1-night stay.
