Since four of the five people in our group had never done an escape room before, Katie (Mind Bender employee) suggested we try a more manageable challenge. Boy, were we glad we took her advice! We escaped with just 34 seconds remaining! Katie took pictures of our group when we were done - she was awesome! Epic Rail Train…read moremuseum located in Bowling Green, KY at the historic (1925) L&N Depot. We were looking for something to check out while we visited Bowling Green, and trains are always a good idea. The Good: *Admission is $16 ($14 seniors and vets) for the museum and tour or $8 for just the museum. *Some nice displays in the museum of historic rail antiquities. *Friendly staff *Touring the rail cars is always fascinating, and they've done a great job refurbishing and keeping them in good shape. The Meh: *Smallish souvenir shop to pick up a few gifts and/or souvenirs for train lovers. The Ugly: *Touring the rail car in the summer is just a downright awful experience. I mean, they try their best to cool off the trains with AC, but it's like spitting into the wind. I was schvitzing more than a turkey in November. TLDR: Not the best train museum I've ever visited--and I've visited a LOT--but it was a good way to kill a few hours and didn't break the bank.

My team of 4 joined another team of 4 strangers (that ended up being really cool) and we did Jailbreak. They were running over a half hour late despite asking us to show up 15 minutes early. That to me is unacceptable especially because we had follow plans with a reservation. Pre-brief and post- brief staff was rude and condescending. The actual room set up was ok and very challenging. I liked the game and clues but it was a bit much and never ending locks and some vague clues. The clues our guide have us were choppy as she couldn't type to save her life (clues came on a small tv screen that our guide types). I will definitely try another escape room but certainly will NOT be back here. *buyer beware** You've been warned.

You are forced to have strangers in your group and 2. The game master is in the room with you. I can't even give a full honest review of the puzzles because there were 4 other people (whom I didn't know) in my group and they didn't share the clues they found. So most of the time, I was looking for things and had no idea where in the game we were. As far as the puzzles I was a part of, some didn't work properly. As in, we got the clue, executed the correct thing, but our box didn't open, and the game master had to fix it - cutting into our time. Another clue wasn't pre-set when we walked in the room and the nerf gun we were supposed to use was "jammed" upon finding it and took almost a full 2 minutes to fix. Additionally, being a game master, it is part of the job (and game) to give leading clues without giving a lengthy explanation or giving it away completely. I absolutely hate doing escape rooms with 6 people, it is too crowded and most of the game is spent chasing someone else's train of thought. This is definitely on my list of "won't go back" escape rooms. Disappointed, because it was my boyfriend's first one. Not a great introduction for a first timer, I'll likely have a difficult time convincing him they're actually fun in the future.
