Today we were searching the isles for perennial herbs, like lemon balm. Ahmeia (spelling) came over to offer guidance. She walked us to the correct section, with both raw and extract options. She checked for each item on our list, showing us available options. We really appreciated the extra time she took to identify the opportunity to assist us, along with how thorough she was. We purchased several of the extracts, along with a couple of the raw herbs. Great place for organic well raised meat, organic pasture raised eggs from local resources, and of course produce and much more.

They offer organic milk and dairy at a pretty reasonable price for organic dairy. There's a bulk section where you can grind fresh peanut butter. A small container of already ground peanut butter is about $3. They offer a station to refill your blue giant water dispenser bottle with delicious tasting water. They have house blend cup of coffee for customers with creamer or milk. What a nice touch! They also have a hot bar for a healthy meal to go. It's worth stopping by! Check out the small lending library it has free books. It's located right as your enter the doors.

For organic food, the prices are quite good and there's a good amount of variety. I'm much more of a meat eater, so a completely vegetarian menu normally wouldn't be my first choice, but I genuinely enjoy the food here. The burgers are actually my personal favorite, especially when they have the mushroom "bacon." I'm not usually big on meat substitutes, but the way they prepare it works really well and tastes great in its own way. The burgers aren't quite as good of a value portion-wise as the bowls, though. The salad bowls are more filling for the price, and you can customize them with whatever you want. They also regularly have limited-time items like tacos, along with juices, muffins, and other options, so there's usually something different to try. There's seating inside along the counter, but my family usually prefers grabbing one of the tables outside when the weather is nice. Overall, really good healthy food, solid value, and plenty of options even for someone who normally prefers meat. The burgers are still my favorite, but the bowls are probably the best bang for your buck. I recommend!

I just want to give a big shout out to Dawson Market for my Holiday order I made for Christmas Eve…read more My reason for this post is because I had a odd day with getting all the food I ordered home. When I picked up the food, a very nice gentleman named Michael brought the box out and told me to make sure to hold the box of food from the bottom. Well my husband was definitely holding the box from the bottom, while entering our building, my 1 year was screaming and my husband just slightly move his hand and things came crashing down. The Mac & cheese container ripped in half, stuffing flew out of the container and Brussel sprouts everywhere. I was so upset and sad all at the same time. My husband salvaged the ham, mash potato, tomato soup, rolls, gravy and apple pie. Crazy how the liquid containers stayed in place. My husband told me to call Dawson but was crying and told him our Christmas was ruined. He insisted I call and to explain what had happened. So I got myself together and called. I got Michael again and while explaining I started to cry. Michael or Mike was so understanding and told me not to worry and will see if those sides where still available. The Mac & cheese and stuffing was available but Brussel sprouts weren't. Michael did replace it with green beans and I was totally okay with that. My husband went quick to pick it up, once he arrived we heated everything and the food was amazing. Thank you to the chefs and big thank you to Michael or Mike you were so awesome and very understanding to my situation. I definitely will order again and I have always loved shopping at this store. Thank you a million!

I love the vegan Neapolitan cupcakes from Rubicon bakers, for example--not only is the frosting delicious these chocolatey small cakes have a filling which reminds me of the (not as healthy) classic Hostess cupcakes. The eggless egg salad wraps from the deli are also good. Other favorite products are the almond chocolate pudding and the Virginia honey roasted peanuts. I don't do my regular shopping here but love to stop in when I'm in the downtown Rockville area. There is a convenient parking lot and garage spaces dedicated to the store, always a plus. There is a small salad bar which looked well-maintained when I was last there (but did not try) and a coffee and juice bar (the latter I've only found so-so--my açaí bowl from a visit months ago wasn't good, but I've heard the chai is tasty). I think there are wine and cheese events also held at the coffee bar seating area. I love the small book section although I've not browsed there yet, The only thing I've found not consistently great is service at the cash register. Mostly the cashiers have been friendly but occasionally we'll get the few who don't seem to want to be there... Recommended for a visit at least once...!

Why is it so thick and gross looking? I thought it was supposed to be more liquidity. It's the only dressing I like next in line is their oil and vinegar options. However, I have not seen the oil and vinegar here. Maybe it's only in Seattle that you get the option. It's well maintained and cleaninside from the veggies and fruit area down to their meet, cold cut, counter service, and the varuous food isles. I can always find what I'm looking for. Or, maybe it's because I buy the same things all the time, so I can stick within my budget and not spend a whole lot of money unnecessarily. This Whole Foods is one of Amazon's return centers, which is another convenience for the Kentlands and surrounding neighborhoods. The staff is very helpful whenever I have questions in their heath section. Overall, Whole Foods is a great place to shop for your household needs.

You have to go inside and wait for an Amazon employee to scan your code... Kinda of inconvenience when your in a pinch for time. Returns are accepted here. Though the Amazon employees are friendly, they are often short staffed. Here is where I give WF 3 stars: The delivery service when it comes to produce is poor. Quality is poor. My produce doesn't last long. It rots in a short period. Not to mention let's say you buy weighted items like a 5pds of sweet potatoes they underweight , ripping you off. The bakery/ desserts. If you get there in the morning it's thawing. It comes from a truck... Support a local bakery instead.
