The last car a BMW came in for oil drain pan seal replacement that cost $5000 and when he received the car back the brake lights were not working. Now how does that happen! Gary said he did not do that, so my friend left it with him again and one month later he says it is fixed but it was not two months after that he says it is fixed and wanted to charge him another $850!!! After calling bullshit on that he lowered the bill to $450. This is a pattern with this business they start with the original problem and then other things pop up making that bill larger and larger. Do not take your car to Gary's Car Craft.

Sadly, a couple of months ago after hiring these young guys and leaving a glowing review for them…read moreafter they replaced my front brake pads and rotors because I had sought mechanic help for squealing brakes. Needless to say after they replaced said pads and rotors the brakes continued to squeal. They suggested it would go away "shortly after driving a bit", but if not, they'd return and "oil them". When the squealing continued "after a bit", I contacted them again and heard nothing back. I tried again and was told they'd been sick, but promised to stop by that evening. They never showed. I contacted them again, but did not receive the courtesy of a response. Now I question the money I paid that did not solve the problem and their lack of responsiveness or accountability for stopping my brakes from squealing and following through with what they promised to do to make it right. I no longer recommend these guys so please disregard my earlier glowing review!

They identified issues that had not been disclosed to me, documented everything clearly, and gave me a realistic idea of what needed attention now versus what could simply be monitored. What I appreciated most was that I felt like I could trust their opinion. They were professional, straightforward, and clearly more interested in helping me make an informed decision than selling me something. I will absolutely use Shipman Auto Repair again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, knowledgeable mechanic.

That reasoning makes no sense -- those are the same components they'd have to check anyway to diagnose the problem, whether I replaced them or not. After visiting their new location, it's clear they've shifted focus to easier, low-risk jobs on higher-end vehicles. They wasted my time and gas for nothing.
