Later, the owner Andy (aka AJ) helped me find a used 22R engine for my 1982 Toyota Sunrader RV, and later, a hood. Both those were located in LA. Then after I bought the motor, Andy bought my no good 22R engine that his neighbor took out. My hood got all rusted out from being exposed to the ocean dew for only a year. Andy looked up something for me on ChatGPT, which I at that time last year, never heard of. Now I can thank Andy for introducing me to ChaptGPT, because I chat with Chat every single day. Andy also introduced me to a "really cheap, REALLY cheap!" (those are Andy's exact words) mechanic across the street that put in the used 22R motor I bought for $850 labor. We picked it up after 3+ weeks of minimal progress. California Coast was recommended by a friend and we are very impressed with every aspect of their business. We brought the RV in and they did an end-to-end inspection of the engine, steering, suspension, electrical, etc. with photos and advice on what was urgent vs. needed in the future. We talked with Vinnie several times and he was incredibly patient with our questions and gave well detailed answers. All work was completed on time. as promised and at a very fair price. The office manager (Donita) is a gem. We have a warranty and she facilitated coverage and helped us understand the warranty details and process. We asked them about upgrading the suspension and Vinnie provided several options. We chose a mid-range upgrade and after service was completed we took the RV on a 22 day, 2300 mile trip and everything worked great! The suspension upgrade made a HUGE difference on some rough roads (looking at you, I5 in Nor Cal ). Donita called a few weeks after our service to see how things were going, if we needed anything, etc. It was a nice personalized touch. Any competent mechanic knows the battery must be disconnected before working around the shifter and airbags. He failed to do that. As a result of his negligence, both side airbags deployed and both seat belts were damaged. One of the airbags slammed into my back and caused a serious injury. I had to go to the emergency room, which cost me a lot of money and pain. Instead of taking responsibility, he completely lost it and kept saying it wasn't his fault. He then had the nerve to say he could install new airbags and seat belts, but I had to buy the parts and pay him labor -- after HE caused the damage. He kept bragging about having "30 years of experience" and being a "trainer," which is honestly laughable given what happened. At first, he agreed to cover the costs. Then he started stalling for over a month, telling me "tomorrow" every single day. At one point, he claimed a family member had died -- and I later saw in his reviews that he told another customer the exact same story. Eventually, he avoided me completely because he didn't want to touch the car again, likely afraid he'd damage it further. He sent one of his workers instead, who couldn't fix anything. I ended up hiring an attorney and taking legal action. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a mechanic. Completely irresponsible, dishonest, and dangerous. Avoid at all costs.

I've started the updating of my 1975 Ford f-250. I told tyler the truck was just out of the shop where we've spent quite a bit on new mechanics ( Motor, trans and so forth) And then the center bearing went out. The work was done perfectly but what I found out is Tyler and team go beyond just rear ends. I needed a couple of additional issues addressed: 1. brakes were replaced by another mechanic but needed bleeding 2. wouldn't start in park ( neutral control switch) But Tyler and team also went through the front end and gave me a list of items that will need to be taken care of down the road. Wait, you're right, no hard sell, just let's fix what's the priority today and we can tackle the rest later on. The truck is 50 years old, so there are going to be issues but I'm grateful to have met Tyler and SD Gear and axel.
