Definitely not a touristy place, this is where locals go. There are so many mezcal options to choose from, whether you want to try it straight or in one of their cocktails. And be warned--the drinks are strong, as mezcal cocktails should be! They also bring out some complimentary snacks to enjoy with your drinks, which is a lovely touch. Service was excellent--everyone was friendly, welcoming, and happy to help with the mezcal selection. This place fills up FAST. We went on a Monday around 10 PM and managed to grab a couple of high stools at one of the side tables, but not long after, the place was packed and it was difficult to even walk through. Given how popular it is even on a Monday night, I can definitely see why. We walked here, which I'd recommend if you're staying nearby, or consider taking an Uber rather than trying to deal with parking in the area. A fantastic little bar for mezcal lovers and anyone looking for a unique, intimate night out. The atmosphere alone makes it worth visiting!

I say seated with parenthesis because most people end up standing here but we got lucky that a couple was leaving as we were right next to them after being asked our drink orders. It's kind of a weird system that they have and I think the staff didn't realize we didn't have our drink orders taken yet and asked the people behind us for theirs which was slightly annoying. It was a bit chaotic so I can see why it happened, but I do think they need a slightly better system. Anyways, the drinks were excellent and I love that they gave us a little small snack that included crickets (which I hadn't tried before yet). The vibes in here are really nice too. I love the dim lighting and the almost rock/clay atmosphere. The bathroom area is smaller than I was expecting but it was ok. I'd definitely return!

La Nuclear has been around for years and has that old-school, no-frills CDMX energy that makes it feel like you're actually experiencing the city rather than just checking off another tourist spot. We had such a good time that I actually came back again without the tour group--which probably says everything. Great pulque, great atmosphere, and definitely a memorable stop in CDMX.

No frills, all quality and wholesomeness. The walls are coated with murals and hilarious graffiti with confessions like "Call me (number here)" and "Ama Mexico." My friend and I were the only ones on an early afternoon and we went with the flavored pulque. They did offer the original, but we did the guayaba and passiflora. Both were tasty. Loved meeting one of the pulque-tenders and he explained to us the process of making pulque regarding fermentation and the use of the "heart" of the maguey. SO rad. Plus the pulque is much less alcohol content, so it's a great digestive. The power of maguey! Phew! Highly recommend checking these guys out. Well on the night before we left,we finally squeezed this bar into our itinerary and man, am I glad we did. This bar was so freaking cool. The ambiance felt great-there was an energy in the room. The staff was so awesome,so friendly-they offered to make us anything we wanted, even drinks that were not on the menu. They would ask us, what type of cocktails we liked, what liquors, what we didn't like and just come up with a drink on the spot-they were a very impressive staff.I also liked how they would make drinks as a team, one person did one part of it, then passed it to another person who would handle another part,by the time it got to us , the entire team had a hand in making our drinks-it was kinda odd but amusing at the same time. The crowd was definitely touristy as I didn't see very many locals at this bar ,though did run into a woman traveling on business from Sacramento and I thought that was just the most random thing ever. I think the coolest part of this bar on this visit was about halfway through our time there, the bartender asked if we wanted to see their "speakeasy" in the back of the bar-so he took us in the back and stopped us at this kind of nondescript door and opened it and it took us to a speakeasy in the back that contained the bar's rarest alcohols and another bar that was totally isolated from the main bar-was a really cool experience. In closing, If you ever find yourself in the Roma Norte district of Mexico City, I highly recommend visiting Limantour bar and ask them to take you to the speakeasy-it's an awesome experience. PS-I almost forgot, just to validate my feelings on this bar-they have won a Top 50 bar award globally for like the last 5 years straight-a very special spot and a must visit in the bar scene in Roma Norte.
