Everyone raved about how delicious our feast was, and we detected a few notes of jealousy about having grown up so close to this place. Lobster bibs were provided, as well, which both reduced general sloppiness and added a little extra flair to pictures from the evening - nothing says photogenic like being covered in lobster!

Put out a few platters of cole slaw, potato salad & maybe some rolls so that people can endure the long wait for the entree. I'll be back to the restaurant itself but I wouldn't hire them to do an event because their timing is poor and you feel as though everything is being rationed (I had enough of that feelng while waiting for TP during the lockdown!)

Taste of Summer and Xyomie, their sales manager, on the other hand, were helpful and excited to work with us right from the beginning. First, Xyomie helped us find a menu that fit the budget and feel of our wedding. We chose a grilling menu that included chicken, steak, and shrimp as well as a few sides and appetizers. Xyomie promptly answered every email from me over about six months, including one the week before the wedding asking to add more to the menu. She also explained with a lot of detail how the day would go and gave us all the info we needed to be ready for the event. Our wedding was on the Cape so the company had to travel for the event and they were prompt and ready to work upon their arrival. The food was delicious and we have gotten so many compliments from our guests. One friend told us that we won the prize for best food out of all the college weddings. A chef grilled right at the buffet table so all of the meat was served right after cooking. The caterers even packed up leftovers for us that we're still eating three days later. When I walked up to the buffet, the lead caterer introduced himself and it turned out to be Dave himself, the owner of the company. We were so grateful to have the owner overseeing our event. The staff was also great with clean up and kept the food and alcohol - related parts of the event running smoothly and on time. Our only recommendation would be to get actual silverware if you are serving the steak. We used disposables and it was a little hard to cut the steak with the plastic knives, but that's not the fault of the caterers. You will absolutely be happy with the service, prices, and food from Taste of Summer!

Back in late August, my cousin hosted an outdoor graduation party for both her children..one had…read morejust gotten his bachelor's degree and the other her master's degree. She hired Sensational Paella to cater the event and it was an inspired and terrific choice. First of all having paella was a welcome and unique departure from what might have been the more usual outdoor barbecue food. Nothing wrong with that; we love good barbecue. But having paella was not only delicious but super entertaining and fun as the guests got to watch the two chefs cooking. Secondly, this paella is delicious and Sensational Paella has a number of types certain to please most. My cousin chose 3 types of paella to be served: seafood, vegetarian and Paella Campesino which was a country style meat paella. I tasted each of them and they were all delicious. My favorite perhaps was the seafood paella. The food was just beautiful to behold...the colors and textures made everything look like works of art. As the saying goes, we eat first with our eyes before we even taste the food and the food visuals here were spectacular. The chefs work with these enormous and traditional paella pans. I'm a fan of kitchen wares and of course now I want my own (smaller) version. It seems authenticity is important to this company which I appreciate. The chefs were friendly and accommodating particularly with a crowd of people wandering about the garden eager to watch them cook. It was almost a magical experience. The party was a great success for many reasons but certainly the food, its presentation and the culinary showmanship of the Sensational Paella staff were big parts of making an already special day even more special, interesting, interactive and fun. After going to an event like this, one can't help but to start plotting for one's own paella party. The wheels in my head are turning.
