Ramirez Roofing provided an estimate and then coordinated the fix which required collaborating with a solar contractor to remove then reinstall the panels. Demolition was scheduled to start on a Monday, but rain was in the forecast so we got delayed. The crew ended up demoing on Thursday and installing the whole roof on Friday - a 2 day turnaround for an entirely new roof with gutters, including inspections. I'm assuming this isn't their routine schedule, but they made it work for us to avoid the rain. The quality of the install was top notch, we've had no issues so far. What was most important to me was the warrantees, which he offered 25 year warranty for workmanship, and 50 warranty from GAF for any materials that should not hold up. The other two proposals only offered either a 7 year or 10 year warranty. I had a very good feeling when discussing the project with David that he would deliver what he said. I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area most of my life, where solar panels aren't on most homes, so my knowledge of Solar Panels was nada. When we bought a new home with solar panels in Woodland, we learned the hard way. Last month, I received a PG&E true-up bill for more than $1k! The PG&E rep gave me a quick crash course: clean your panels. Since there's no way I'm getting on the roof of my house, I searched for a solar maintenance business on the NextDoor App - Viola! I found The Orange Solar. They came out the next day to clean my panels, which would give me +30% absorption. You can't tell from ground level that it was covered in dirt and bird droppings. There were all sorts of bird nestings beneath it, which would damage my roof over time. At the same appointment, they discovered my inverter was faulty. They contacted the manufacturer and got them to cover it under my warranty, and Orange Solar replaced it for a reasonable price the next day after receiving the part. They are very thorough, they love to help the locals, they are affordable, and they are overall good people. They are the only certified business in Woodland that does this stuff.
