But I am so happy I went for it because since my wedding concluded a week ago, I have been getting endless positive feedback regarding Laura as my caricaturist. They loved the fun and unique idea and thought that she got their faces down. Her style is not offensive, unlike other caricaturists. It's like a cartoon version of a face. I don't know how she can draw a face so accurately within minutes. It's mind-blowing. Additionally, she was professional and polite to guests. She conveyed good vibes and made my guests comfortable. One thing I'd like to highlight is her skillfulness at drawing Asian faces; most of my guests were Asian. I investigated many caricature artists' online portfolios for their ability to draw Asian faces in a non-stereotypical or offensive way. Unfortunately, many artists cannot get it down. Apparently this happens everyday but its bigger on the weekends. We decided to do the typical touristy thing in SF and get a caricature done! I was drawn by $2.75 pricing but of course it added up to a lot more than that. It was $2.75 per person, $1.50 for color, and then $4.00 for a frame. lol so it came out to $15.00. Which is still not that bad considering we only had to wait for one couple before us and he finished it in like 5 minutes. Pepper did the drawing for us and I asked if he had a website and he said no. He's been doing caricatures for 50 years but retired but decided to come back and do it again. The caricature is of our profiles placed on top of some type of SF place- We had ours on top of the cable cars. He got my mom's hair right but as for me.. it looks like a 12 year old version of me. haha. I had fun tho. i love caricatures. I'm always curious to see how different artists capture me.
