So I called and asked if my new insurance would be accepted and they said it would be. Then I got a bill for $125 for the cleaning as that aspect wasn't covered by my insurance. Well, I requested a discount and no they wouldn't give me one. Secondly my son had a cleaning scheduled and since it was the same insurance I called the morning of the appt and cancelled his appt. I then get a bill for $75 for cancellation of appt. I call their office again to see if they will waive the $75, the answer was no. It seems like it's more about money and not about helping out a long term client. I will never go back even if my insurance changes. I have lost 2 teeth to this issue and ended up at urgent care again after having to get a tooth removed from another faulty filling that they put in resulting in another infection. Dr Arnie would take time to consult with you about any dental work needed, but now you are just told what needs done and to schedule an appointment. Multiple times I have had the current dentists try to insist on getting root canals, and not take the time to talk with me about what I think. My teeth are not very sensitive, and Dr Arnie would always take into consideration that each person is different- he provided me with multiple fillings where a root canal could have been an option, but in each case his excellent work has held up and limited the amount of pain & money that would have come from constant root canals. Instead of a focus on patient care, there seems to be more of a focus on financial gain - my last appt I was quoted for over $1800 of work that would need done and had to all be done at the same time. Did not do any of it, and still no issues more than a year later. The office staff is also very unfriendly, especially to a family needing to book multiple appts at once. They refuse to book cleanings any less than 8 months out (despite 6 months being the recommended time frame) yet take on new patients and give them priority scheduling. They seem to also have a shortage of dental hygienists, claiming they have more business than can currently be handled by their staff. We had gone to this dentist for more than 25 years without having any of these issues, but with the retirement of Dr Arnie it is no longer a good dentist office. I would highly recommend finding a different dentist to avoid the same poor service we have experienced.

First, let me say the dentist did a good job. No problems in that area. The problems started with…read morethe office's draconian policies. You have to cancel an appointment A WEEK IN ADVANCE or they charge you! Who knows a week ahead of time if something is going to come up that would make you cancel an appointment? Plus they make you pay a deposit when you make an appointment and you have to prepay BEFORE the appointment starts. I've never heard of that. So, you can see where their priorities lies. I went in for an assessment and received a lengthy treatment plan. I made an appointment and it wasn't until a few days later I thought maybe they were planning to do all the work at once. I called to ask and yes, it was the case. That was too much work at once for me so I arranged to get just a few procedures at my next appointment. I wasn't given an amount I was expected to pay at the appointment. I checked the treatment plan and determined the copays would be covered by my flexcard for Medicare so was not prepared for a large expenditure. I went in for the appointment and the person at the desk was quite rude. I went to the desk and waited for her to acknowledge me but she didn't so I said my name, waited again and she didn't say anything. So I started to go and sit down. Then she said something about signing some papers so I turned around and went back to the desk. Apparently, I was supposed to pay $1200 that day before my appointment to prepay on crowns for root canals I was getting which I had not expected. As I hadn't prepared for that amount, I was taken aback and what was going through my head in that split second was what's the best way to pay this for me financially? Will they charge me a fee if I cancel? Will I lose my deposit? What cards do I have on me? Do I have time to do a transfer from savings to checking? Should I take money from my 401k? In my haste I thought I could use my flexcard and put the rest on the only credit card I had with me that would cover it, which I didn't really want to as it had a high balance already. I also have pretty rough physical issues that make just going somewhere a major chore so I didn't want to have to come back. So, I try 3 times to put my flexcard through their machine and each time it didn't work. Finally, the girl spoke up and said the last customer's card didn't work either. It wasn't till much later that I realized she probably wasn't pressing the right buttons. It was completely their fault as I checked later and the card was fine. So, I ended up putting the entire amount on my credit card. It was a lengthy procedure with alot of novacaine involved and wasn't till the next day that I felt better and thought I probably should have used another card I had that had no interest for 6 months so I called to see if they would switch my bill to the other card. Guess what? They refused. They said they paid a fee for me to use my card and they weren't going to pay a second fee. When I suggested they call the credit card company and try to get the fee waived they brushed me off. And, she said, "Well, you signed these papers" like I was disputing the amount and I thought that very rude. She also made some other rude comments. So, now, I'm stuck paying almost 30% interest every month for God knows how long until I pay off the entire balance on my card and my minimum payment has doubled. I had to go back to get my crowns but that's it. They mysteriously weren't able to take my flexcard plus sprung this large bill on me and wouldn't do anything to make it right. I'm done with them.
