Barbara Wilkinson was AWESOOOME! Hard choice to sell a place I only had for 3 years, plus putting so much time, energy and money into.. but, with life's happenings, I knew it was a smart choice. I already contacted another real estate agency however a friend said "before you chose your realtor" I want you to meet Barbara. She helped her buy her spot in Truckee years ago and to this day they're still friends. Barbara went above and beyond including having personalized notebooks on what to expect during the selling/closing process the first day we met, days after talking on the phone. AND we sold to a local She and the office have local connections with title companies, notaries, etc., which made the closing process super convenient. Our experience with Dickson Realty and particularly, Heather Fairbairn, was tiresome, frustrating and costly. First of all, whenever we requested work to be attended to, it would take Heather days to even respond to our message. For example, we reported that the front door handle would freeze, making if very difficult to lock and unlock in mid-December. However, the lock was finally replaced 4 months later when we turn in the house keys. On another occasion, when we were locked out of the house, we texted Heather repeatedly but never got a reply. Eventually, it cost us over $100 with a local locksmith. Even though we had already moved out by March 1st, we paid for the entire month since our lease expired on April 30th. During that time, we continued to visit the property, cleaning and making sure everything was in perfect working condition. We then recommended the tenants who are now occupying the house, so Dickson and Heather did very little in finding new renters. Finally, the new tenants moved in on the 9th of April, but Dickson took their time, unfortunately during a time when my wife was laid off due to Covid-19, to give us the crumbs of our deposit 21 days later. I say "crumbs", because they didn't even give us half of our deposit back. In fact, Dickson charged us 9 days of rent for April, even though Heather requested the keys on April 1st and we hadn't occupied the home since March 1st. Also, in all honesty, we cleaned every area of the house except the stove, oven and refrigerator because we were able to enter the house after April 1st. To our shock, they also charged us 12 hours of cleaning which $435. Heather even mentioned that dusting should have been done, but how could we have dusted and cleaned further when she changed the locks? It is truly sad that a company like Dickson takes advantage of people, especially during an economic and health crisis when people require money more than even for essential needs. read more

Terrible, unprofessional, & discourteous! You have a host of choices for your real estate needs in the Lake Tahoe area, so don't waste your time w/ Dickson Realty. If you're a seller, watch out. My husband and I contacted Dickson agent -- Anna Grahn-Nilsson -- & scheduled an appointment to view a house for which she is the listing agent. Yet, she never showed up! When we spoke with the Dickson receptionist in-person, we were told Anna had left for the day. A call to her cell phone was unavailing. What's worse, it has been over a week since she bailed on the appointment & she has NEVER contacted us with an apology or attempt to reschedule. She is clearly not serving her client! read more

We have had the BEST experience working with Anna. She is everything you would hope a real estate agent would be and more. She has sold us two properties now and we have known her professionally for many years. From the very beginning, she has been professional and friendly. We have a property in the Truckee area but do not live locally. Whenever we have had a problem or question she has been willing to help and has even been willing to meet contractors at our house to let them in. She returns our emails and phone calls right away and has been an invaluable resource- connecting us with reliable housekeepers, plumbers, handymen in the area. The good news is that I did buy a house that Dickson Real Estate was the selling broker. The bad news is everything else. As far as I can tell Dickson is made up of a bunch of part time real estate brokers. A lack of professionalism and unresponsiveness is just the start of the story. Oh yeah, I didn't mention a lack of knowledge of local ordinances relating to the sale of property. I suppose the paperwork was done correctly and they properly protected themselves from lawsuits. The core of the problem may lie in the fact that once a property is in escrow, the deal is handed over to an administrative type who has no knowledge of the transaction or the property (or much else as far as I can tell). This was a transaction that both the buyer and seller wanted to close and I'd guess Dickson slowed down the process by three weeks or a month. I think that many other buyers, given the frustrations I had, would have walked away from the deal. There are many good real estate sales people out there and I would be very leery of hiring Dickson unless you know that you are hiring a full time, professional broker who is going to handle 100% of your transaction him or herself. read more

Moving from NY to CA is no easy task but Jessica Ferguson was absolutely amazing. She was in contact with us on a daily basis and guided us through the entire process. When we finally were able to make a trip to see houses she spent her Saturday on a holiday weekend giving us an awesome tour of the entire area helping us decide what neighborhood to choose. We got our perfect home at the perfect price.Since then they have graciously continued to stay in touch inviting us the their annual BBQ and offering us Thanksgiving pies! He thought of every detail ahead of time. I rented two properties with Anna. Both of which I shared with roommates. On both occasions we were surprised to deal with messes from previous tenants. And on both occassions we left the house cleaner than was offered to us when moving in. We never had issues with late payments or problems with the properties themselves. However Anna insisted we have both place professionally cleaned when moving out. A service not provided for us for either home. All of which is fine under most property management agents. However when applying for a new rental under a different management agency Anna was extremely unprofessional. Making false claims as to my reliability as a tenant. I can honestly say I was shocked to hear it as throughout my experiences with her she came off extremely friendly and professional. Do not trust this woman. I am appalled by the disrespect she has shown me and my fellow roommates. I will never rent from Dickson Realty again and I will warn anyone and everyone against Anna and her associates. read more

We met Doug via internet search when we were exploring a vacation home three years ago in the Truckee area. If you are looking for a home in the Tahoe area I had a horrible experience with Rich Harter and Dinny Evans. It was a while ago and I see they have changed agencies. They double ended a deal. They rushed the process for us to buy and then we had many problems. Instead of stepping up they turned their backs on us. The issues were too numerous to cover in this review and they did nothing to watch out for us. They just wanted the commission. Read another review that was on Pacific Crest Properties from another client. I would have made a formal complaint to the DRE but they make it too cumbersome and difficult. read more

We must have asked her to take us to 25 houses in the span of two days -- but she never rushed us or put any pressure on us. Wow, very lucky/blessed however you want to look at it! A little back round: first time buyers looking for a house in the sierras. We had little knowledge of how things work or what it really meant to have someone ( a full team of experts- from lender to broker and all the important people in between that you MUST have to find a deal, get a deal and close the deal) that new the business. Our dream came true thanks to Bonnie Jessy, Emily Valle and Kris Collins. Every turn this deal was filled with surprises =o). My Team came shining through like prize fighters in the ring!!!!!
