He…read morefit me with hands down the best pair of orthotics I have ever owned; they were so good, that they are still fully working today (which amazes even him). Sadly, the original manufacturer is no longer in business, but Dr Novek keeps up on all the latest information and products out there. He takes really good care of my dad who would be literally crippled today (his feet are pretty mangled) if he wasn't under his care. So almost thirty years later (good grief I'm getting old), I ended up back in his office after over six months of major foot pain and had yet to procure relief through PT and other methods, which was seriously cramping my work out regime. As he is also still an athlete, he really knows how to treat issues. I called the office as I was visiting my family pre holidays. Although he had not seen me since my teens, they literally got me in the next morning. Dr Novek is still a very kind, friendly and personable doctor. He really listened to my complaints, looked over my recent scans that I brought with me. He had an inkling of what was going on and touched a part of my foot that no one had yet touched, but it produced immense pain. He said my walking vigor (under 15 min mile pace) was causing the issue and I'd be better off going back to running because I was putting too much pressure on my heels by pushing off on my strides (I walk like I XC Ski-long, fast strides). So he told me what to ask the chiropractor to do (unlock those side bones) and to take anti-inflammatory OTCs until the inflammation healed, as I had too many pain spots for corticosteroid injections. He then marveled over the still pristine quality of my orthotics (dad always said if someone held me up for my sneakers, to ask to keep the orthotics, lol) and then he built them up slightly to see if that helped. He said to call the office if I needed to come back in before heading back to D.C. for any fine tuning. Two weeks now later, I just walked 8.5 miles during my trip in Reykjavik and I have NO pain. No hobbling out of bed every morning; no stumbling around in misery all day long. It's like I have new feet again and I couldn't be happier. I saw two other podiatrists during my years living in D.C. Neither came close to the care and relief I've gotten from Dr Novek (and I've got two additional expensive pair of orthotics to prove it). He's highly intuitive and I can attest to the fact that he is not a promoter of foot surgery. We have referred several people to him over the years and he always had other options to help them. Only one went on to have surgery on another opinion and unfortunately, ended up with three more before sadly being too hobbled to walk any longer. I cannot highly recommend enough Dr Novek.

Every single member of the staff is abrupt and aggressively pushing something.
