I went to this location to buy a rain jacket for my upcoming spring fishing trip to Lake of the Woods and I had the best customer service experience in quite a long time. The young buck working in the clothing section named Stew was so helpful, kind, and hardworking. I needed a 2xl size than the xl size that was on the store floor and Stew checked his handy dandy little gadget and once he found out the size was in the back he went and got it for me. After he got back and I tried it on, I then asked him if he had the matching pants in stock also and he went and got me those as well! What great customer service! Whatever they are paying Stew it is not enough. Most kids today at other stores ive been too are just lazy and they sigh at me whenever I ask them a question like its the end of the world for them. After I was done Stew asked me if I had any other questions/needs and I told him no but I'll be sure to find him next time I come to visit this great store. I love how much space each section/department has, I didn't feel crowded and I felt I had time to throughly shop. Staff were solid, connect with you from time to time but continued to do their tasks. The shoe department staff were extremely attentive, I saw them touch base with everyone that entered their section. I want to visit other locations to see how they compare, because this location is high quality for sure. The product on the shelves are full. The parking situation is decent, typical parking lot. Sometimes, extra unexplained "fees" show up at checkout, sometimes add-ons have been forced and shipped, not always smooth sailing. That being said, they have a decent selection of stuff, OK customer service and decent shipping. Their club subscription pays for itself in one big purchase otherwise, it's straight 10% off their marked price, which might or might not be inflated 20% over MSRP. Bottom line is, decent but not always the best, as always do comparative shopping, and for absolute best service/relationship, nothing beats a good LGS.

I have…read moreshopped with SG and been a buyers club member for almost 25 years until they emailed and called me suddenly saying I owed them over $1,000 for an order 1.5 years ago that they claim was charged back in my credit card. I tried to investigate but credit card companies apparently don't keep statements from that long ago and with more than 15 credit cards it was a process trying to look into all of them in the first places since I don't have a card with the number they referenced anymore. I asked the girl on the phone why they would wait so long and she said they had been busy and didn't get around to it because things were crazy there or something like that. Since I have no way to know if they are telling the truck and don't k is why my card company would have magically refused their charge after they shipped a product or why they would wait a year and a half it is easy to understand why this seems like a scam. Another bad business practice is that they allowed me to place several ammunition orders and for over a year they send back order notices and ask me to accept a new date. I clicked accept and the prices in their website kept rising and rising and it seems they don't honor the back order prices and instead say it's never in stock again so they can sell at inflated prices. Before all this is liked SG for their easy return policy, usually decent prices, easy online ordering, and decent selection of items. It's unfortunate to feel I can no longer buy because they fell apart the last couple years.

Another Woodbury bike shop had quoted me several weeks of wait time for a repair. As soon as I brought it into the shop, a friendly gentleman behind the counter asked me what I needed fixed. He immediately took my bike back to the repair area, fixed my gear in minutes, and didn't even charge me for service! I will be coming back here for all my future bike repairs!

He is a cashier it seemed but was willing to simply fix my problem without making me go through all of the red tape. He fixed it but noticed one of the pieces was bent. Then another gentleman by the name of Mike said from behind him that brake looks a little bent and he could fix it for only $20 if you want me to do it? I was so thrilled by the care and the concern that was given to me to see me get my bike fixed and back on the road! They said they would try to get to it today... And they did it within a few hours and called me and told me it was ready! They have some pretty high-end merchandise, but I'm seeing some tempting sale offers and they have a rental program that might help you get kitted out for an adventure. This storefront location might be tricky to find at first. Enter through the building's Washington Avenue door, next to the barber shop, then follow the signs through the door there and up the stairs, where you'll spot them. I promise there's a nice store up there! You're on your own for parking but it's easy enough to find metered street parking.
