We glanced their inventory and looked for a certain fueling product my son wanted but didn't find. I did come across the cutest rabbit ice bandana, which I purchased. Although it was snowing the day we came in and an ice bandana was the absolute last thing I'd need that day, I've been known to grab ice and shove it under my hat and down my sports bra so this bandana will surely come in handy for warm weather runs/hikes. He had a great personality, willingness to help, and very knowledgeable. Long story short --We did all the boot fitting process (measurements, standing in place, baking the boots, talking about fit and feel) and narrowed it down to the Atomic Hawx which was a significant improvement from my current boots and much needed on my end for performance and fit. David did mention the need for having bindings that were Grip Walk compatible which I didn't know if my binding had that but I had them in my car so I brought them in later on. Now after the boots were molded, fitted, and amazing we started the binding conversation. My current bindings were not compatible with Grip Walk boots and the problem solving started. Megan and Chris they worked their magic and troubleshooted the Grip-Walkless binding situation I was in and problem solved with another pair of Atomic boots that still had the Alpine Soles as they were out of the spare parts in the stock room. I greatly appreciated the above and beyond service, friendliness, and overall care for me as a customer and the extra steps everyone took to go above and beyond. As someone who has worked in retail, I can appreciate and understand the stress and impact the job has on you and I would like to give kudos to David, Chris, and Megan. You made my experience unforgettable, I felt extremely valued during my time with all of you and I can't wait to use my new boots this weekend. Thank you so much! If you order tea they do have sweeteners available (monk fruit actually, I had not seen that before!), but they don't do lattes and things of that nature. I was having a stomach ache from eating too much sugar that morning and I got a cup of their peony honeydew tea which I think is new (it was on display when I came in). They prepare the tea bag for you and heat the kettle then you add water and steep your own tea. The flavor was GORGEOUS, I was very very tempted to buy a bag of tea ($12 each I believe) but I had already bought way too much and was trying to travel light - so maybe next time. The cup of tea was $3.50, and it settled my stomach very quickly. The worker who prepped my tea was also super sweet and nice to talk to! And in addition to tea, they did seem to have some other small, gift-y items. I saw a sign advertising afternoon tea as well, and they have large communal tables that invite you to sit and have your tea and study or work or read or just hang around. Overall it's a good thing this tea shop isn't in Austin because I would spend too much money here... it's got such an excellent vibe, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend a drop in to anyone who even remotely likes tea while you're visiting CO springs. It may not be their fault depending on how GNC is setup and managed, but I find it discouraging and unhelpful. At least the staff has greeted me each time as soon as I walk into the store, and they're overall friendly people. Guess I'll be sticking to Vitamin Shoppe even though it's farther away from me.
