The staff was friendly and tried to help. But their knowledge was limited. They are entirely dependent on the foot scanner, which isn't entirely accurate. Plus they don't have a lot of knowledge about the different needs of shoes for marathon running, hiking, or just day to day. I appreciate their effort but will be driving the extra miles to get to Fleet Feet.

But while we were there, 6 other shoppers walked in. They were able to help everyone with their needs. We had my husband fitted for some shoes. First we verified the type of runner's foot he has, then he was able to sample a few different shoes. He finally found one he liked, but he needed a wider shoe. The guys were gracious to order the shoe for him and will ship it to us. I also walked out with a new cushioned shoe - and on clearance! Now I'm ready to keep running in comfort!

From what I can tell, their staff is mostly adults (i.e, non-students) - I didn't see any students working during my most recent visit. But all the employees I've encountered are friendly, helpful and professional. Their prices are competitive, based on like items (items that I also saw at Rally House), and Emporium boasts products that are bit more exclusive (locally made t-shirts, VT-specific shirts, things of that variety) and unique.
