I would like to start off by saying I tried to give this business and a chance but they are…read morereneging on their word. They basically are keeping my money but didn't provide the services I paid for. My friend signed us up in June for a Conceal and Carry class. In July my aunt passed away the Tuesday before my class and the funeral was that Saturday, the day of the class. I called and explained the situation to a younger person. He was very kind and explained that I could come in for a refund or they would call and offer me the next class each month. At no point did he say I would have to take the class at a certain point. He sounded trustworthy, so I decided to take it at a later date. The August date didn't work because I teach and classes started that Monday. The September class did not work because my husband was injured and my son's had a fall baseball game. I called and called but they do not have voicemail set up. I was unable to get ahold of them, so my husband called during my school day to let them know the date did not work for me and they told him I was not allowed to reschedule again. Here's the thing, this business does have have an after hours voicemail or even a voicemail during working hours. I tried to call and no one would answer. I never accepted the September date but because they offered it to me they are trying to say I took the date. It's contract law 101 the customer did not accept the date, so I was not signed up. Also, the young man I spoke to in July never said I had to take the class by a certain date. I spoke to Ed and he is trying to say that because the sign up sheet says no refunds I will not be able to take the class or receive a refund because I chose not to attend the September class. I am very disappointed that this place is not honoring their word. I gave them a chance to do the right thing but they are choosing not to. So if you sign up to take a class, don't have an emergency or death in your family because this business will keep your money!

Everything was pretty pricey, as expected from name-brand outdoor gear, such as The North Face, Columbia, and Patagonia. I learned that you can actually rent all sorts of gear, including tents, sleeping bags, snowboards, bikes and kayaks. They also offer classes/events, mostly focused on rock climbing for now. I do feel that their climbing rates were a bit high for the limited space that they have. Their climbing wall has only 5 vertical routes with a very small bouldering area, and they charge ~$20 for one hour. As an avid indoor rock climber, I would recommend visiting one of Pittsburgh's climbing gyms instead. Their day passes cost ~$20 as well, and you can climb for as long as you like. I see the benefit of having the wall for trying on climbing shoes if you're looking to buy, but not so much for recreational purposes.
