I visited Dick's one Sunday afternoon on the hunt for new workout shoes. Besides an online purchase for a Stanley cup, I've never actually set foot inside of Dick's before but somehow felt compelled to visit for this purchase. This location is in the Cumberland mall area and connected to Golf Galaxy. They have a hugeee parking lot, ready for dozens of shoppers. When I visited they had just opened and there were only a few other customers but I saw more and more as I shopped around. The store itself is huge. It was incredibly organized and laid out to catch your eye. Especially the pretty pink setup at the front which I assumed to be highlighting (or preparing to highlight) Breast Cancer Awareness month which is approaching, which I thought was lovely. I headed to the shoe section and the options were endless. I had no idea what I was looking for, to be honest. I had a slight idea but thought that I'd get some guidance here... not really. The young ladies over the shoes were incredibly sweet and patient, but I wish someone was able to offer some expertise. I tried on 2 different shoes with the help of one young lady and a young man who appeared from the back with the shoes. I didn't realize that they had devices around the shoe section that allowed you to request shoes in your size using the barcode, names, etc. Very cool! I ended up going with some colorful Nike Frees which were on sale and felt like clouds on my feet. I looked around the store on my way to checkout and phew, those prices were no joke! There didn't seem to be a huge variety in brands or pricing (lots of big names), but great variety in styles, colors and schools/teams represented. I attended the grand opening for this Dick's Sporting Goods location on Friday. The store also had preview days earlier in the week.. There is a mall entrance right next to the food court on the second floor of the mall. The main entrance is outside with a lot of parking where Sears was previously located. There is also a Golf Galaxy entrance next to the main Dick's exterior entrance. Golf Galaxy is part of Dick's. Golf Galaxy is where you can purchase golfing equipment. There are also virtual golf simulatiors which a Dick's employee told me anyone could play for free. This is a perfect way to try out golf clubs before making your purchase. All of the staff were very nice, helpful and welcoming. This location is very large. There is a sneakers section with an indoor walking track if you want to walk in your sneakers after trying them on before making your purchase. The sneakers section was the most crowded of the store. Every store entrance had staff greeting customers. The main entrance there was a bottle of hand sanitizer. Everyone I saw inside the store wore masks, including all the staff and customers. There is a large variety of clothing and all kinds of outdoor gear and athletic and sports accessories available at this store. There is a special coupon on the Dick's website for $10.00 off a $25.00 purchase to celebrate the grand opening of this location. It's a great addition to the area. read more

Probably one of the worst customer service. I've gone in there several times to purchase workout equipment. There's never anyone available to help. If you happen to see someone, once you find what you're looking for, they seem to just disappear. Also, When you see an employee, there never seems to be an urge to assist. Tracked down an employee once, walked them over to what I needed help with & still ended up purchasing the item online via my phone(due to them walking off to do who knows what). Online customer service was slightly more helpful, but not much organized. Ended up returning the item due to inability to track order correctly. read more

I was racially and gender profiled . When I received a call from the store manager and told him every time I talked the. to a black female employee they where moved to another part of the store . I told him the make and white employees where allowed to small talk. I asked the manager why his LinkedIn education and work history did not match . The managers response was "this was not a complaint but a call for help " I have a mental problem and this complaint is over" the manager then blocked my phone number. I would not go to this store or online . The headquarters called me and told me they would investigate but they are not going too. They are pimping at that store . They hire young black women and treat black men in the store like predators while the Managment moves them around just to control them and make sure they only interact with white men. read more
