Strite's Garage - Formal court hearing was held after failed resolution attempts

In May 2025, I brought my 09 Pontiac G8 to Strite's Garage for a major rear-suspension overhaul…read more I supplied over $1,000 in new bushings for the job. The shop performed additional work I did not authorize and attempted to charge me for services I had specifically discussed -- which showed no signs of being completed. When I picked up the car, it was pulling hard to the right, scraping during turns, and howling at speed. I left a voicemail after the test drive to report the issues and explain I would be having the work inspected by a third-party shop before proceeding. Instead of replying directly to me, they reached out to family members of mine. That alone was enough to permanently damage my trust in how this business handles communication and conflict. Over the following weeks: - A tire shop found the subframe was misaligned, bolts were improperly torqued, and the alignment was far off. - After multiple visits to resolve it, I still had to go to a GM dealership twice to get the vehicle driving straight. - All in all, it cost me over 15 hours and additional repair bills -- just to fix strites work When I tried to resolve things formally, the owner did not dispute any of the details. Instead, I received a religiously framed email, offering a lump sum payout if I met him in person at a specific time. The tone and content were so unprofessional and manipulative that I can't even include them here -- because some platforms flag or reject the wording even though it's his. I have the full email saved and available upon request. Even on Better Business Bureau, the owner publicly used similar language -- asking readers to "continue to find life and meaning in Jesus Christ" in response to my report. That further reinforces my concerns. Summary: In my experience, Strite's Garage: - Performed serious suspension work incorrectly - Billed me for unauthorized work I never asked for - Billed me for work not done - Avoided accountability - Reached out to third parties instead of communicating with me - Attempted to resolve things through religious and emotional pressure

He thought that the sounds and shaking from it meant that my engine was probably done! So he recommended that I take it to Strite's because he didn't want to deal with it. It turned out when Strite's took a look at it, that all it needed was a new timing belt kit, and a couple other reasonable parts for a Honda Odyssey from 2014 at 135k miles. I am extremely pleased with the level of expertise, friendliness, and the fact that they were honest, fair, and had a fast turnaround on the work. I would not hesitate to refer Strite's to friends and family, and I will definitely return to them for work on my vehicles in the future.

I have always had good service. went in for title work was in and out in no time walked out with my pa plates and registration and got my title in the mail in a week went back a day later and got my car inspected was in a out for that too. one stop shop with fast friendly service.

As soon as I got there, a guy was desperately attempting to work out a titling issue, which he did, I guess, to some degree...however as soome as he left the clerks started speaking negatively about him...as I'm sure they did with me after I'd departed. Regarding my visit, I went there for PA vehicle safety inspection as I'd awkwardly anticipated. They failed me due to wiper washers not working, rear LEDs on trim being out, and no CAT. Washer were working fine...my guess was they had no clue how to operate them. When I mentioned it inside, the female clerk said it was intermittently not working. LEDs had no bearing on the vehicles operation. The tech mentioned afterwards that I'd more than likely would get pulled over for it. It's highly unlikely, and I call BS. The only semi legit finding was the missing CAT, but I had no emission requirement in my county, so it shouldn't have even been considered. At the end of the day, these shops like this look for $hit to fail you on so they can drum up repair cost. Upon leaving, I was offered a day next week so they could "troubleshoot" all my issues and provide a quote for repairs. At another cost, I'm sure. I paid them their $28 and got the F on. Do yourselves a favor and go to a trusted mechanic shop and stay clear of this place. I really should've trusted my gut and mainly checked their reviews prior to pulling into the parking lot!

I purchased 4 sets of tires from this location, two in July, two in September. Alignment was done at each install. The tires were wearing down exceptionally wrong and they all had started to tear apart. The owner and manager aggressively denied any ownership of the issue at hand and claimed the reason was my car "eats tires" and alignment was my problem. I've owned and operated my vehicle and know a set of tires do NOT get worn out in less than a year. The only reason I even bought these tires is I hit a set of nails on Waynesboro Main Street and needed a replacement quick. I am a new father, I am also hitting hard times, instead of compassion and understanding of my situation and just asked what could be done to help; I was reverently told nothing will be done, conversation was over, to stop wasting their time, and leave. I whole heartedly do not recommend this location. Do yourself a favor and seek service elsewhere.
